Camo's 1st Grow - Coco - LED - Lucas Autos - Poll Of Strain To Grow

No worries mine started out slow and by day 20 I feel they were caught up remember the tap root is doing work right now be patient and she will shoot up when she's ready. I honestly was worried about my girls

Group shot of girls ! I think they set too short but they are 36in from light shouldn't they stretch or should I set them farther away from leds ???

Let the light stay away for a while until they get a few nodes up, then start slowly start lowering it down to "harden off" the plants to the more intense light. If you lower it too early it could burn the tender leaves and kill the young plants. Google the term "Hardening off" for plants for more info. But, I'm sure you already knew that.

I know this is not the same but in veg I just keep my light at the top of tent from last flower run, pull the HPS, load the MH and run at 500w. At over 6' light is not to strong, as plants grow I add watts till I'm at 1000. A 1000watt light anywhere in a 4x4 tent is more then enough for any veg setup. I'll drop when I use my HPS again then raise when needed. I keep about 18-24" from my flower light.

I would start them at 36 and drop them down everyday or so depending on the plants, they look like weed plant should at this age... Don't over think things, they'll grow my brother just give em light and water you'll be fine :thumb:

Ok everyone I will respond after this update or just story I guess. Also thank you all for stopping by, it means so much to me that I could be so blessed with such good friends to check up on me.
Day 4 update. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
So I was reading in growchick new journal I'm sure you all know her, but her seedlings ph risen to 7.... something I can't remember. Anyhoo, I got to thinking my little seedlings look like hers but I've checked my ph with my meter at every watering. There is no way my ph is off, maybe salt build up cause I was feeding with 0.5ec to put some nutes and calmag in coco. Then I REMEMBERED the Recharge !! It's a mixture of bennies for them girls and coco. I just mixed a half a tsp in a gallon jug of water but I never ph'd the gallon jug. I have fed bennies twice since planted in coco on 12/25. So I'm assuming that made my ph rise high because I've fed with light nutes and water 5.5-5.7. Everyday. They are really starting dry out, at least of course the white widow is, I watered her double today! But I haven't eater ed enough yet since they are seedlings in 5 gallon buckets to have any runoff so I have no clue water salt buildup is like in coco as of now. But they seem to be perking back up, I fed today same nutes ph to 5.7. So we'll see how they start growing, NL didn't pop up till 28th so today is only day 4! Yesterday was day 3 update haha.

Brad I think once I have 3 nodes and some height on these girls I will put them in their hangers that hold each led to lower and raise and then start lowering. So probably next week sometime since I will be ponytailing.

Slayer what's good my man. Thank you for your thoughts and reflections on my young girls. I think they are growing like a weed I just check on them to much. Got to fight this new grower urge. Cause I know I'll be in there a lot later on defol and adjusting lights and watering like and gallon of water per plant. But just trying to let them grow and rest.

I do believe though that I didn't put enough medium in the pots. Because once I flushed all the coco and perlite it settled down and the plants are lowww I'm the hempy bucket and somewhat in airpot, fabric pot is fine. We'll see how they turn out.

As I stated, not sure on light intensity for LED, but I'm sure it's close if true watts are similar. Moreover, veg lighting is a different strategy then bloom lighting. It will be interesting to see you dial in your grow.

Careful with this reasoning, I don't think HPS is comparable even if they are equal true watts. My two 400hps lights burned 860w true watts total any closer than 12" and I would get burn on the top of the plants from the huge amount of radiant heat that HPS puts out. My leds draw 780w true and they can be 4" from plants or even closer with no problems. I don't think total watts has much bearing on proper led distance. The things that do are lenses on the LEDs, led type, distance between each diode, etc. No relation to HPS.

The closer your lights in veg the tighter your node spacing will be. I suggest you go as low as you can while still maintaining a reasonable footprint for your space. By the time they are 6" high they can take full power. When they get to 6" lower the light as low as possible while still covering your space. If you can get it down to 6" over the plants and still cover all then do it. If not then raise it just enough to cover space. 24" above is good for seedlings. Keep in mind I have been using the same lights as you so my opinion is based on successful experience with the same equipment.

Good luck.

I've used 24" for seedlings with my LED's. Doesn't fry anything and the nodes are still closely spaced. After 2 weeks I drop them to 18". Might try closer than that this grow once every plant has its own light. Can't go any lower than that and cover 2 plants with a single light, not enough footprint. So I'm in agreement with OttawaGreen.

Your newborn babies look great, Camo -- don't worry too much :) I think they love the light, that's why they're so tight. As everyone else has said, as they develop more nodes you'll be able to get a better idea of where they're really at!

Looking forward to seeing the DD grow in that airpot -- I bought a couple of tiny airpots to try out because I hear such great things about them and I want to try some small pot grows. (That's pot grown in small pots, heh heh heh)

Happy New Year!
