Buckshot's Perpetual Grow, LED, Pro-Mix, Evolving Feeding Routine

Thanks for the PM doc, I went to reply but I can't yet..

I'm planning on having 6 girls, outside. I was going to ask how far a 3.8CF of Pro-Mix/1.5 CF of FFOF typically lasts with the mix and proportions you use.

Also PJ stated that he uses separate Guano for his veg/blooming mix, I was wondering if you do the same

Apart from that, I need some insight on this :sorry:

I sent this to Pro-Mix:

This was their response:

Thoughts?? :thanks:

Edit: After going back and actually looking at the mix.. I'm less worried about it than I was, considering the ingredients that are being added and their proportions. I don't think their presence would interfere with the mycorrhizae's ability to proliferate in those amounts .The response I got in that email just worried a bit..
*waits for response*

I am old, your energy makes me tired :cheesygrinsmiley: < jesting

Haha, my apologies for the excessive "enthusiasm". I promise I've been trying not to be overbearing. :laughtwo:

I think I'm just terrified of doing something wrong and messing up.. I'd rather ask you guys (who have been there - done that) these newbie questions, and learn from your knowledge/experience than sit here scratching my head and trying to connect the dots alone.

Again, I appreciate the kindness and willingness to help very much. I'll be having to come back and read over a bunch of stuff when the time comes, which is hopefully soon. That's why I'd love to hear any and all advice. Thanks a ton guys.

This is how most folks feel and rightly so... there are plenty of ways to fuck up. Here is my 2 cents on how not to fuck up.

Pick out where you are going to grow.

Find out who is growing in that exact environment, in the way you wish to grow and is showing the results you want.

totally copy them! DO NOT DEVIATE

That's it.

Once you have gained confidence with a success then start to "experiment" with a few plants and keep going with whatever works on the rest

This is such a great piece of advise! I have been thinking of a way to start a thread or area for "recipes". In other words, it would be a single post from each grower with specifics; what was the space, breeds, method, nutes, lights, temps etc. It would have a yield and smoke report. Then a newbie here at :420: could just come in and say, "hmmm, I have a 2x4x5 space, need X amount, and like X kind of high. Find a recipe and follow it exactly with some general expectations of what they might get. Oh, it would have to have pics so the newbie could reference the plants at lets say 4 stages. Lots of people get really lost when presented with tons of options and just want A+B=(C)hronic Cannabis.

Humanzee, sorry I missed your question on Pro Mix. I get about 2 grows with 4 plants each out of a PM bundle, but nowadays I am recycling the old root balls back into my grows. If you follow any of these guys you are going to grow sweet ganja.

I just wish I took pictures like this and had that kinda sticky in the tent!

Bob I like your idea, but how would it work here so the information is easy to find? It would be extremely helpful to quickly be able to find a thread that is in tune with what you want to do. Perhaps a searchable form filled out by willing growers?

I know you can find some frosty strains! As for the images, taken with a cell phone!! just turn on the flash and get close enough so flash can over power the ambient light :cheesygrinsmiley:

That is the part I have been thinking about. Without getting too specific, it is kinda what I do for a living in a way and I am trying to get my mind around what would be easiest for both sides (grower and newbie). Your idea of a form was exactly where I was headed. Then you could have a searchable screen with maybe some pull down menus. Grow size, light size etc. Then click search and it could show you a list of strains and yields in that size setup. Something like that. I want to come up with a good plan and detail it before I show it to the :420: powers that be to see if they would be interested in hosting such a thing.

You are using the flash! See, that tip alone may be worth cash money! I always am trying to futz with ambient light in a tight space. Time to go practice today and post something on the eye candy thread.

Guys that would be amazing..:high-five: When I first started on this website I posted stuff in the most inappropriate places and the very kind folks here eventually led me to the right places but if I could have done what the Doc just described.... Oh man... The embarrassment I could have avoided...... And the mods I wouldn't have pissed off. Great idea...:bravo:...:thanks:....:circle-of-love:

Well if both of you think it isn't a silly idea maybe this thing has legs! I will start a thread, uh, somewhere on here, and see what "data points" we should track. IE: Size of space, ambient temps and humidity, medium, light type and wattage etc.

On the other hand Dennise, had you just had a recipe to follow there wouldn't be your fantastic journal to follow from the original growing in MG days, to now with designer genetics under LEDs and all the cool moments in between.

Off to the whiteboard!
Bob

I too think that's a great idea Bob, it may be tough to keep out the misinformation but as long as people like you, Buckshot, Dennise and others (BAR, Light Addict, Cannafan) to mention a few could keep it right for people like me, always looking for info without reading hundreds of pages of people just having fun. Although, when reading many, many pages and something new pops up it's like Xmas. :cheer:

I hope it was okay to put my 2 cents in :hmmmm:

Well I would say this would take a nice fat SQL server and some fancy keyboarding. I was thinking the same form for both the grower and the searcher. Simple so both will use it.

I will have to go look

So be it SQL gives me a headache and pisses me off

pardon me I was just applying Vertex updates to an SQL server, carry on < I really was :cheesygrinsmiley:

Okay guys, now I'm actually starting to outline my plans :thumb:

nowadays I am recycling the old root balls back into my grows.

Doc, out of curiosity (and for future reference), when you say you recycle your root balls, how does that go? I'm assuming you're basically recycling everything left in the soil?

:peace:

:passitleft: high Human... Don't think I've seen ya around before... Happy to see ya about... I'm pretty sure what Bob is talking about is that when he harvest he just puts stalk and roots and all in his "used" soil bin and will add a few amendments and reuse... I use the same basic soil mix as Bob does and it allows me to use my soil for 2 or 3 rounds... Light Addict uses his many many times.... :circle-of-love:
