BT'z 2nd Grow: Super Lemon Haze & Golden Leaf

We also talked about performing an experiment regarding the use of Dyna-Gro ProteKt, but I’ll defer to you to explain.

Yes, the comparison experiment considered is a perfect opportunity with my two pairs of plants that I'm just starting. Using Clonex Clone Solution solely or with the addition of Silica. Since I currently have more that 2/3 a quart of the DynaGro ProteKt, it will be the product used.

The calculator makes evaluating any nutrients so much easier in one go.

That calculator is great, but a bit buggy. I’m also working up an Excel spreadsheet that will allow entry-only calculations of ppms involving multiple pre-mixed nutrients.

The real takeaway, I feel, from the CannaStats article, is that the author’s 10 years of research and experimentation suggests that less nutrients can grow as well as more, and using more is wasteful.

Ok, Back to the business of growing weed!

Girls Night at the Bar, All Drinks on the House!
Even though the reservoirs aren't empty by any stretch, I'm watering every night to push out the old and infuse with fresh everything including Oxygen. After all this is pour to waste and we just discovered we have plenty of nutes at under $1 per week.
Hey Big Spender!
Will continue for the next few days at least. Who knows as long as they're in Hempy cups. Afterall I'm already visiting every night anyway.

First up the Golden Girls, they need some encouragement, as they are a little slow to get out of the house. Make up and wardrobe choices your know.
Both basically stopped the moment I moved them into the Hempy. I think they have really been put the effort into root and pushing for everything they have to the water pocket they can smell. Little Gold Diggers!
Next up are our Two Little Tarts The Lemon Sisters. Sheila was the first to arrive but has been taking her time to work the room. Gilda came in like a hurricane and went straight to the bar. Drink Up My Lustful Ladies.

Overall, I think what I'm seeing was a slight slow down to a down right grind to a halt when I moved them all into the Hempy. The roots were getting lots to drink and then they had to go in search of. It's pretty evident that Sara has almost if not already hit the reservoir, and she's going in hard. I'm thinking of calling her by her alter-ego - Stella. Reminds me of someone.

Bless! as we say in the south. The Gorilla Grape Seeds are also showing not interest in coming into the world. I feel I did everything exactly the way I did with the SLH and GL girls. Except for not pushing them as deep into the RR's. As I said this could be a sign of some greater wisdom regarding the number of plant to grow in a 2x2.5 foot print. Yo No Se!

May be a tight squeeze but I'm in for the show.... mainly cause I can't say no to ladies night!!!

Madd and Mad, glad to have you joining and along for the ride. It should be hopefully a very educational experience for me. Plenty of comparative stuff also. Already have had some changes.

Even since yesterday when I said I was going to use Clonex throughout the grow. With some further analysis on the part of FelipeBlu of other nutrients it appears J R Peter's - Jack's Nutrients have edged out the Clonex in a side by side using a home made Nutrient Calculator based on the CannaStats calculator. @FelipeBlu and I collaborated, me more with encouragement and asking questions like "What If?" I did add extra columns to evaluate multiple products together and give totals of each nutrient of all the products used. FelipeBlu cleaned it up and made it much more presentable. Also added a cost per feeding. Kind of a bottom line thing.

Speaking of price, Now it's time for me to roll up my sleeves and find the best prices. One of my specialties. In my life, my kids call it Papa pricing.:p

Did your spreadsheet produce something like this? Only y'know, on a computer?

I use Peter’s nutes on my outdoor flowers and veggies. It seems pretty salty but I haven’t ever had any nute burn or anything negative from using it. Judging only from the look, smell, and feel I think it’s the exact same stuff as some other much higher priced nutes branded specifically for cannabis. :)

Actually, It's more to allow the end user to create the nutrient profile they desire and evaluate the over all cost if desired. It's more of an analysis of the individual nutrients in each product. It gives the ability to change the dosing amount and gives a total PPM of the product. It also creates a cost per application as an added bonus. It's really just a pure numbers comparison spreadsheet so one can evaluate the levels produced per the suggested levels for each stage of the grow. It's not about making a rule of what should be used.

It's still in the design stage or I would share. Rest assured it will be shared in the near future. Most likely a bit of a debut on Thursday night for an initial reaction.

I forgot to add, it allows the addition of several nutrient product such as part A's and B's as well as water. If more of one nutrient is desired then finding a product that adds that can be added in for a total PPM as well as total PPM of each ingredient.(such as a total of all of the Nitrates)

@FelipeBlu and I have had quite interesting discussions regarding the marketing of nutrients directly for Cannabis and the cost associated to the special artwork on the labels. Remove the stoner style labels and just put it in a brown paper wrapper and you have a much lower cost product. Additionally, the marketing cost directly and only toward the Cannabis industry add a huge price tag to the end product. R&D cost making something specific to cannabis is like duplicating something that has already been refined for general use. CannaStats specifically suggest that less can be more in many ways. That was the motivation, besides apparently their calculator is buggie and also restricted to only one product at a time.

We wanted one that could be flexible and include the nutrients in the water as part of the end result.

Ok, back to growing weed, for just a bit and then we are clear to talk about anything but, Sex, Religion, and especially Politics. I've come here to escape all that.

I went down to visit the girls and share a nip or two. They drank until they flushed. I haven't given up hope of the Grape Ape crew. Last night I did peek in from above and saw a bit of green above the seeds. Hummm! says I. I had soaked them in water for a full 24hr last week, then into the RR's which have been kept moist with a lite mix of Clonex Clone Solution.

So tonight I thought it couldn't hurt to look underneath the skirts and see if any thing was shaking or moving. would you believe, there are white roots coming out from them all. One each except for the middle one who has two poking out. Cheeky buggers, hiding in the bush like that.

Has anyone else ever had seed that sent rooting down before popping their heads up above the surface? I barely placed them in the RR hole, just enough to cover the seed up as it slipped in. Yes, I knew to also put the pointy end in first and downward. Most interesting. :rollit:
