BT'z 2nd Grow: Super Lemon Haze & Golden Leaf

They need a pool of water in the tray at all times, so they never dry out. I keep mine saturated.

And so my ignorance of the product shows.

I have only planted directly into a soil mix, either in a 4”x4”x6” or a 5 gallon pot. Hence my predilection to let the medium dry out. But what you suggest makes perfect sense, especially for peat. This is a form of Swicking®️, isn’t it?

Just gonna pull up a seat and soak up some knowledge. Welcome BT'z. Good to have ya here! :)
Big Sparks welcome. I appreciate you checking in, but will add a slight disclaimer. I'm really very new at growing anything, especially weed. But with the assistance and guidance of many of the other good folks here, I seem to be doing OK. It remains to be seen how much I might have bitten off with the grow. It might be a very ambitious endeavor, but we shall carry forth and chive on.

Too bad I can't change the name of the Blog. Need to delete the SkywalkerOB and replace with Gorilla Grape. It's been over a week since I drop the SkywalkerOB to soak in water and a week since I put them in the Root Riots. Sue encouraged me to wait a little long, but I'm just not that patient. I picked up 6 of the Gorilla Grape my Five Guys guy gifted me today and immediately dropped 3 of them in a little cup of water. Pulled the SkywalkerOB's out of the RR's and dropped them in another cup of water. They were really very black in color. I figure if they actually throw a root now in the water, I'll put them in another set of RR's and grow them in a 32oz Hempy Cup for Grins and Giggles.

Onward and upward. Was shopping at the grocery store today and found some perfect 32oz stadium cups in different colors. They're not light tight, but that's what Duct Tape is for! I actually bought them feeling that it would be soon and I would need them.

Got home and watered the little seedlings, figured it was just as good a time as any to check underneath. Sure enough I have three tap roots coming out the bottom. Good call on the cups as I figure it's time to upgrade their home into Hempy Cups I just bought. Will place the three and wait for the malingering Golden Leaf that has been slow from the start. Who knows might have a tap root tomorrow morning as I start the process.

Pictures to follow during the upgrade. Didn't want to expose the roots to very much air. Will most likely wait until Saturday morning to place the Gorilla Grape seed into RR's.

Just click the Report link at the bottom of your post and ask the mods to change the thread name. Happens all the time!
Done and Done, thanks that was easy.

I found these 32oz cups at a local discount grocery store named Smart & Final. $.49 each such a deal.
I wrapped them vertically with a double layer of Duct Tape to block out some light. In retrospect the lack of was the cause of Algae in in my last Hempy Cups. Drilled hole at roughly 1.5inches from bottom of cup. With the course perlite in the bottom the reservoir holds 150ml. I have been having to feed my smaller Cups daily because they only hold 75ml in the bottom. Hoping to stretch it out just a bit at least initially. When I start running out of reservoir on a daily basis, I think it will be time to upgrade to my larger 1.5gallon waste paper baskets. Anticipating that to be 2-3 weeks from now.

Wow! they grow up so quickly. My little seedings Super Lemon Haze and Golden Leaf showed their Tap Roots yesterday, so into fresh new Hempy Cups this AM. Rinsed the perlite and mixed in the vermiculite and away we go.

First up Super Lemon Haze Girls Sheila and Sara all dressed in pink.
Next up my special Golden Leaf Girls Goldie and Gilda in tribute to Rowan and Martins Laugh In

Saving the Purple Cups for the Gorilla Grape seeds. They sunk to the bottom this morning so into the vacancy left by the SkywalkerOB duds. Everyone back into the Clone/Seedling Dome with the T5 double light on 24/7 at the moment. Will turn it down to 20/4 after the Gorilla Grapes get into their RR's.

Thanks folks, a little encouragement goes a long way at this point. I'm really excited that in just a few days some of my 420 friends here might be coming to visit Miss Rey and the other little stepsisters. I'm more looking forward to the opportunity to not only meeting some of our community but somewhat bathing in a new energy that I'm exploring. Like minded Cannabis growers, with many different experiences getting together to share. Nice!

Speaking of gaining experience and knowledge, @FelipeBlu and I spent some real quality time going over a side by side numbers comparison of the DynaGro Nutrients I have been using vs the very interesting capacity the Clonex Clone Solution Nutrient. I convinced that the Clonex Clone Solutions out performs the DynaGro in every way when it comes straight numbers. So I will be continuing it's use all the way through this grow to harvest. I feel this is a viable change in direction on nutrients, especially since I'm just at the very beginning and already using the Clonex Nute.

From our perspective the folks at HDI might just have some knowledge that is worth investing in. Interesting the cost estimated at this point for 6 hempy plants is approximately $1 per week. Not that cost is a driving force in this choice. If someone could prove that $10 a week would double or triple the yield that I'm expecting normally, I would very much pay it. (don't want to) I consider this Clonex Clone Solution to be another part of the K.I.S.S. principle.

Oh, we're gonna have some conversation about this. I pay a fairly steep price for my nutrients, and at this point I'm still new enough to nutrients that I'm not sure there aren't better solutions, or comparable ones at a reduced expense.

I'm excited about getting to talk shop. Lol! This doesn't happen all that often in my world. To be able to visit other's gardens is a thrill I'm still adjusting to. It'll be a new experience for me. :battingeyelashes:

You can imagine how much this impacts a very new grower like myself. I consider all of you to be major pro's at this from my perspective.

Yes, the nutrient profile for the Clonex solution is quite interesting. Higher total ppms at the recommended dose than I expected for seedlings/clones (~600), but I gotta believe the folks that make it know something about what young plants can handle. With minor adjustments in concentration being easy to make, it should be possible to use this nute all the way through harvest. Certainly worth further research.

We also talked about performing an experiment regarding the use of Dyna-Gro ProteKt, but I’ll defer to you to explain.
:passitleft:

Okay, I’m going to have to edit the above (that will teach me to post early morning without notes). Total ppms for 40ml/gal is right at 420 (!): 121N-32P-101K-122Ca-24Mg-15S-3.6Fe-~1.5micros. Potassium is a bit low, but can be adjusted with ProteKt, which also provides silica. And magnesium may need to be boosted a little (with Epsom salt) if LEDs are used. But overall, not a bad nutrient profile.

Ok, I'm in

1st off
Do NOT over use @SweetSue before she comes and visits me :slide:

2nd
The west coast will never be the same after Sue make her appearance :thumb:

3rd
As for seeds, I have currently crossed DDA x ACDC, DDA x GDP, and lots of others that will go into Sue's Seed Bank, maybe even a few carnival seeds for the queen herself

Not to one up you Cali Boys, but do you have Cobs for her? I have two, yup, I'm THAT good:rofl::rofl::slide::slide::yahoo::drool::ciao:

Doob has cobs waiting for me Chris. :battingeyelashes: I’ll do my best to maintain a high energy level for Phoenix. Lol!

Carnival seeds......be still my beating heart.

But I have a DDA cob, yes...I went there

I'll see how many carnival seeds I have, not a top one in my grow book so remind me and they are yers hun

Ok,I'm completely out of the loop on the COB's convo. Chris, are you and Doob making DIY Cobb lighting systems??? So much to catch up with and enjoy. This week is going to be a really nice experience.
