BT'z 2nd Grow: Super Lemon Haze & Golden Leaf

I decided today was the day to re-pot a couple more of my girls. Goldie and Gorilla Grape are now in their Hempy Baskets. Learned a interesting lesson with regards to moving them. If they have formed enough roots then the hempy mix kind of crumbles as you move it out of the cup into the basket. By those standards the SLH's will have no issues, as I can see roots all around their drain holes. So a couple pictures of the new homes and a group picture in the tent.
I'm guessing that my capacity for the smaller Veg tent is 6 of the Hempy baskets. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with the clones I take. Maybe out back in the natural sunlight to veg for a while in the smaller Hempy Cups?

Looking forward to it getting really crowded in there!
Thanks, It should be a very enlightening experience to say the least. I can see how things are going to get very congested, given that @FelipeBlu only grew two plants in this tent in the spring. I am using smaller containers and also a different LST idea, so maybe???

I'm planning on moving them into the bigger tent within hopefully the next 3weeks. Rey has got to give way and be harvested sooner than later along with her little clones. Planning on harvesting the clones the beginning of this next week, which will open some space in the flowering tent also. It's possible that I can move at least 2 of these into the flower tent with Rey. Maybe 4? That would open space up for the clones to be in the smaller Hempy Cups for my Hempy Cup Challenge in the Veg tent.

Hoping to transfer the SLH Lemon Sisters into Hempy Baskets tomorrow as they are the ones I'm looking to move into the flower tent next.

That sounds like fun! If you have the time, defol can be like meditation. If you're rushed though...fahgettaboudit.
I try and do most things in at least an Abide mode. Meditation fits well with my description of defol. No need to get in a hurry and just listen to some nice music while I do it.

Day 41 - Almost to 6 weeks for the SLH and the GL's. The Golden Girls Gilda and Goldie are really looking awesome. They are drinking almost 500ml of nutrient mix each day. I enjoy freshening them up and adding some extra oxygen into the system for them daily. Given the extremely low cost of my nutrients per gallon, I can afford to splurge on the pour to waste idea. I think it might be paying off. A couple of pictures today of Gilda. I will most likely top her in the next few days. Need to clear a space and reconfig the Clone Box.
Finally got busy and prepared some Hempy Mix in larger quantities for the Hempy Baskets. Here are a couple of pictures of the bucket and Stella ready to be dropped into her new home. Great root structure for sure, a very strong plant indeed.
I used @Tead suggestion for a dry transfer and it worked perfectly. The bottom of the roots end up being extremely close to the reservoir so the amount of effort for these two girls will be minimal to reach out and quench their thirst. Here's Sheila from the side just before her move.
Stella after her move and already back in training. The holes around the outside work so great, thanks to @DrDoob for that idea. The pipe cleaners are very easily adjusted.
Pictures of Sheila after the move and with her training in place.
Finally a couple of group photos.
I took the opportunity as I had extra Hempy mix and moved my healthy clones into Hempy Cups. I had made a couple of mistakes when I first cut them and know what they are. Perhaps more on that later. I did end up with three great looking clones with nice strong roots. I gently removed them from their root riot plugs and used @SweetSue direct wet planting technique into the Hempy Cups. Expecting great things from them.

Looks great BT! How many inches of Stellas roots were down in the res? Those roots look really healthy :thumb:
In that picture the bottom 2inches were in the reservoir of the Hempy Cup. Considering the growth I can't wait to see what is at the bottom of my other little clone Hempy Cups and Basket from my Skywalker grow. All a great learning curve for sure. I'm still wondering how much container size impacts yield with Hempy.

An additional thought about the roots in the previous post. I started the training and topping long ago and waited until today to transfer. Order of operation I feel was backward on that. I think the roots I saw with Gilda which was the biggest and most stable of the Gold Leafs was more in line with the way it should be done. The SLH Lemon Sisters I waited way too long to transfer. I can only imagine what progress I would have made with a bigger space.

We will see of course with the progress Gorilla Grape and Goldie show over then next couple of weeks since they were moved about a week ago. They're roots were no where near as developed. I'm really going to go with @SweetSue and others idea of going directly into a final pot size. I will be watching the progress of the three new clones I transplanted earlier today as a gauge.

Sup B, always a pleasure here bro... Love your precision and decisiveness.... Rewards o plenty are in your future I am sure.. Looks very nice, good job... Green Days ... and to all
Green Days Indeed and thanks for stopping by a sharing your appreciation for my efforts. I do spend a bit of thoughtful time and consideration in most all that I do that can't be reversed easily. I really don't like having to redo things. Really hate when stuff fails, but it has been know to happen. I had 3 clones survive from the original 5 that were cut. That was because I tried something that was questionable.

Ok, so I've had dinner, a White Russian (aka Caucasian) warming up the Arizer with some Gorilla Glue #4 gifted to me yesterday and I'm ready to explain my mistake.

When I took some clones while topping my Lemon sisters I didn't follow procedure. First I used some sort of off brand Root Riot cubes from my local hydro store. #1!!! Second after all was done, I was looking at the left over Clonex Rooting Gel and said well it could be good stuff, so why don't I mix it in with some pH balanced water and use it to moisten the cubes. #2

It cause a bad case of rot and eck on one of the clones, and a second one I cut off the nasty and put it back into a cube and it just didn't ever produce roots. Fortunately, three survived dispite my efforts and are now nicely out of their cubes and safely into some Hempy Cups. I'm still spritzing with a lite clonex solution foliar spray. They have actually shown some growth over the last few days without really showing roots. I'm going to cut back on the spray and let the Hempy take over.
Oh BTY only a couple three hits off the Arizer and I'm feeling really nice. Anyone want some of this? :passitleft:

Especially when it comes to cloning! I'd kill for a 60% success rate :).
Yes, 60% is still fairly good. I think they remaining ones will make it. They had strong looking though very small roots. Planted in Hempy Sweet Sue style.

I have a few more opportunities to work on my technique. In the moment I'm out of room in the veg tent. That will open up over the later this week some and then completely within the next 3-4. I'm intending on cutting some clones from Gilda this week and Goldie and Gorilla Grape hopefully next week.

I guess I was a bit cocky with my first efforts being so successful. In retrospect the little package of Rooting Gel was a free sample and the little amount I had in the Shot Glass I should have thrown away. I do have some fresh that arrived via Amazon yesterday, so game on.

Day 42 - First a group picture to because the green is so beautiful. It's also a before picture, because Gilda and Goldie received major trims and defol.

I topped and took 6 clones from Gilda. She's really bare in the moment and then I tied her down with some manifold LST.
Goldie also got the treatment. She produced 3 clones, as she had not filled in quite as much. I didn't take a picture of her, as I'm not sure all the crowd could handle the nakedness. Didn't tie her down as she needed some growth correction with the topping and trimming/defol. Maybe tomorrow or so. All in all I'm guessing they are both going to be rather pissed off at me for a few days.
