Breaking Brix: Buck's DIYs

Hang tough buck! The troubled one in veg looks like a little potassium deficient but nothing that can't be remedied. Just take care of yourself.

Best wishes

Truly that one's k deficient....but not really. The roots aren't happy and it's manifesting as K deficient. He knows what to do.
Yeah I have no doubt in his growing abilities . What do you mean by a root problem? Not questioning, but just curious for learning sakes!

High Brix soil is really high in calcium, and pretty low in potassium because we see greater microbial action and nutrient density with a high calcium soil. The flip side of this is that if the roots aren't totally communicating with the soil, there's not much potassium to sub for calcium, so the fans will begin to digest a bit.

These plants will grow in a high potassium soil. They grow differently in a High Brix soil , with lots of calcium and not much potassium.

I hope this helps! Thanks for a very good question and for wanting to know about these great plants.

I think my next round is already starting off better. Here's first Class Funk by Compound Genetics just 2 weeks old maybe 15-16 at most. They are really doing better than the ones I started in cups. I have 3-4 that started in 1 gals. They seem happy and have a nice color and shine to them

I rarely "flush" except for veg watering, which is a flush almost every time. You sure you need to flush it? Maybe just drench it?

That's where I'm stuck. Keep staring at her, 1st thought is no flush, it's way too early, she hasn't had much to flush out. Instinct tells me to give drench, I'm thinking rescue drinch, I gave her a trans about 8-10 days ago. Or maybe another trans will be enough, just not sure

Here's a better pic, she's kinda perky, and lit of tacoing

OH...that one. Yeah, that thing does not look happy. Please disregard the last post. When it dries out, top dress with 2 tblspns Roots! and cut off bad stuff and give it another REscue Drench....use warm water for that one and mind the night temps. Microbial activity is very low on that one. Hopefully we can wake it up.

My helper had some plants that got really cold and weren't watered for a day and a half after wilting. We brought them back to health and today you couldn't tell anything was ever wrong, but it took two weeks.

One more Rescue with the top dressed Roots! and WARM water and you'll be good.

Yea I'm getting some potassium issues at moment, she's still pretty wet. Not drinking much at all.

Yes, same damn girl, probably should have given her the rescue last time. At least I'm learning a ton, and I'm good on space. I'm about to take 4-5 out and put them under big light dm let them adjust from 400 ppfd to 1000-1200 ppfd. I need to add co2 pretty soon, just want to get couple more runs with kit first before I add anything

Thanks Doc ..

. It's been a week since giving 2 tablespoons of roots and a warm rescue drink(80 degrees). She's a lot happier now, but it didn't really help the yellowing edges of leaves. Went from yellow to reddish purple on very tips of he edges. She's drinking water now. I just gave her a light dose of sea of green

I stayed organic, I'm hoping his will correct whatever's going on. I'm just about to cull it, tired of playing with her. As soon as she dries I'll give her a GE drench, but I did too dress with EWC's. It's hard to say what went wrong, because I intentionally stressed the hell outta them, they were testers.

Yikes....that Sea Green might not be the thing here Buck. This plant was one of the ones that suffered when you were away?

Those leaves won't heal to all green, but they'll still do some work. The new growth will show if things are better. Chop it way back.

I don't advise using those seaweed products....too much potassium. Our Tea and Roots! product have more beneficials and the right kind....more than anything on the market.
