Breaking Brix: Buck's DIYs

Everyone tells me I have trust issues, because I just don't trust people in general. Honesty is a thing of the past.

Honor used to be ... necessary? ... in a man.

Now it's just an advertisement that you're a guppy, someone to be taken advantage of. It disgusts me.

:bongrip:

I was also robbed a month ago. My sealed grow is in the bedroom of my apartment that I usually lock when anyone comes over. Landlord was replacing the moldy bathroom ceiling, sending workers over several times without incident. Then one day the drywall workers came back to finish up their work without notice from my landlord. I left the bedroom shut but unlocked when I left for work. My home cameras went off a couple hours later as one of the workers was crawling through my window. I was 30 minutes away and decided just to watch what they'd do. The worker unlocked the apt door for his coworker and they worked for an hour or so before taking a break. Meanwhile, landlord texts me about workers entering the window and I'm nervous but didn't want to cause a scene if the workers were just going to do their job and leave. 20 minutes later they re-enter and go straight for the bedroom "What's in this room here? inquiring minds want to know" and opens the door. He spent 10 minutes unzipping tents and admiring everything, then made a couple calls to his buddies to brag about his find. Apparently one of his friends had grown a plant before and made a few thousand dollars, so he wanted to steal one to do the same. After finishing their work, he searches my drawers for a nug, takes one, then re-enters the bedroom and walks out with a whole plant.

It f*cking sucks, but honestly I feel lucky that he didn't take more and that word apparently hasn't reached my landlord or LEO. I've been plagued with paranoia and trust issues since then, on top of the constant secrecy already. So I feel ya Buckshot, it's difficult being a grower. Sounds like you lost more than me, but try not to let it eat at you too much. In the days after, I was really focused on trying to identify the thief in my footage, and refreshing myself on the castle law and considering buying a firearm.

Wasn't until a close friend asked why I need a private investigator that I realized maybe I'm taking it too seriously. Being robbed is wrong and not being able to get any legal recourse is wrong, but when I think about it, taking someone's life in defense of my belongings is probably more wrong on a spiritual level. Sometimes it's better to let things go. My cat recently died spontaneously so that's been a lesson in loss as well. I'm still trying to let go of the bitterness and anger toward society and different systems I hold responsible for my losses. You can trust cannabis, and hopefully a few close friends for console.

Here's a few pics of the little girls. They started off good, the cold spell for few days may have got soil outta whack.

yesterday I gave this one .25 mls of tea, .5 ml of trans with 7oz of water. Seems she really liked it, can see big difference today

Wishing everyone a great New Years

Zurple punch, she's been slow outta the gate. My temps have been too low, along with low humidity past few weeks.

the soil doesn't seem to have enough life, I gotta do something with most of the little ones. I watered them all right before mini split died, combination of wet feet and cold temps may killed off the life in the soil. I gotta get them back on track. I shut down my electric heat, now solely using propane. At least I don't have to worry about it going out.

I'm hoping 2018 will be a better year for all of us ..✌️❤️

I'm not a good grower either so take my observations with a grain of salt. The propane burner should help with co2 and humidity. A lot of your leaves have those puffy ridges though that I think are signs of over-watering. Cold temps reducing h2o flow and low oxygen in the rootzone could have damaged your microbiome.

You could maybe unpot them for a night to let the rootzone breathe easier and dry out. Or just let them slightly wilt between the next few waterings. I've also read of people using a little hydrogen peroxide, but I've never tried that. A fresh dose of bennies couldn't hurt.

Low temps and low humidity is a no-go for our plants Buck. Warm water drenches. The soil can't live with the low temps and the plants can't thrive in the low humidity.

The good news is that they're not dead....they'll come back when you get it straightened out.

I took the doors off of the room, they've been lit happier since. I found a couple humidifiers I gotta try and get this week. The zkittles girl liked her rescue dunk. Her leaves have been perkier

I may scratch in a little roots before next watering or feeding.

When I was in tents I never had humidity issues, never got below 40, but it's very very cold, 7 degrees out and wind blowing 30mph

It's been a bad past year lol. But hopefully 2018 will be better (I'm hoping). Everyone tells me I have trust issues, because I just don't trust people in general. Honesty is a thing of the past.

Finally back. Trust issues? For the past 15 years I have rented out my other room at my house. Didn't matter. Race, creed, sex, or whatever. Every single one ripped me off. From a grandma, girl with three kids, 9 to 5 paint guy for cars, construction worker types. Weed, flat screens, computers, and tools. Even a bat I had hanging from my ceiling. My pee wee herman doll. All kinds of crap. Everyone always says I'm too nice. Oh, you don't have rent. Yea, I'll cover you till the fifteenth. Then they move out on the fifteenth and you never see the money for the bills they owe. I hate everyone equally. Seems like the only honest people left on this planet are on this site. Hopefully this year will be better for both of us. Like JuanCarlos said, it is a different breed of people nowadays. No honesty.

Finally got a house and am starting to order parts today. Explain the whole story when I start a journal. Need your help getting my gear since I have been out of the loop for the last three months. Got up to date on your journal. Not enough seeds, jk. 7 degrees? That concrete floor is just sucking up that cold.

Yea the cold weather along with the wet pots wasn't a good combination. I think I may have screwed this batch of soil up, I cooked it 7 months ago, I believe the temps were in range, but I think I may have let it dry out too much. I've only had one girl outta 7 that hooked up with soil. I'm still getting the feel for this organic. For me it's like starting all over lol. They are looking better each day, I topped 2 yesterday

Glad your back brother, was wondering what happened to ya. It's impossible to be good to people, it always comes back and bites me in the ass

Basically spent 10 grand in two months in Oregon trying to buy property and rent a house. Friends or so called friends screwed me over. Bounced from airbnb to airbnb. Had to take an uber everywhere cuz I had no idea where the hell I was half the time. Had to have all food delivered. 100 bucks a day easily. All went to crap. Ended up back in Kalifornia buying a house about a mile from the one I sold lol.

Remember those plants I showed you on my porch. I gave away all of them. They all got eaten by deer except two of the ones in 2 1/2 gallon pots. Dude got a pound just off those two. I sold three of the 5 gallon pots before the deer incident. Long story short, I have three different people asking me to give them more of that strain. Found those seeds in my friends bag. "What strain is it? That was best pot I have ever grown." I don't know. OG Something???

Ain't that the luck, unknowns turn out to be killer lol

I gave this zkittles a rescue almost a week ago. She's growing good and seems perky. But the purpling petioles may have gotten worse. Temps are good, just little low on humidity( low 40's)

. I may just be knit picking on the purple stems, or maybe genetics

But this little Tahoe alien bubblegum has doubled in size in past 3 days. I think it's starting to come out of weirdness. It's looking 100% better after I gave it .5 ml of trans and .5 ml of tea mixed with 8oz's of water

. Last pic I just thought was funny

I get purple a lot in non purple strains in the cold. Don't know why it does that. My opinion, is that it is not necessarily the cold temps, but the temp difference of about 20 degrees from day to night. I've had cold green weed, but it was a difference of about 10 degrees at night and day. Don't know what your temps are. Could also be humidity. I never tested that part of it.

Phosphorus uptake is temperature dependent. If your temps are too cold, purple stems and petioles will result. Simple as that.

I think he's talking about the foliage turning purple. When the concentration of anthocyanin exceeds chlorophyll.

Could be. I keyed in on where he said:
I get purple a lot in non purple strains in the cold. Don't know why it does that.

This kind of purple is due to decreased phosphorus uptake, which is largely dependent on temperature. Anthocyanins are different and often do not form at low temps. Here's an example of anthocyanin production from the 3 most recent pics of my purple section.

You can compare those colors to low temperature issues and see that there's a different mechanism at work in each case.
