Those are the composting worm beds. Feed the worms a mixture of food waste, cannabis waste, and manure from the farm animals.
Last years bud I didn't want to pay to trim.... didn't come out AAA grade.

About to blow it up with a few old pictures I gathered.... many more old pics to come as I collect them in the coming weeks.

Some More new pictures, updates of the last day or two.

Some new pics of recent movement in the nursery

I thought the same thing when I saw the photo. I was saying to myself "Is this some new way of bud washing on a commercial scale??".

Then I noticed that when they uploaded the photos to their Gallery, like the rules say we should all do, they included a description of what each photo shows in the area underneath the picture. Some really interesting comments and it helps fit the photos into the story.

I’ll have to throw up some of the photos I took at your farm soon here too. So grateful for you sharing your work and journey with us brother :thanks:

Got some pictures to update the thread with.... recent growth and plant movement.

Here's a little update... cleared out the last of the cannabis in the nursery for the next few weeks until I start making cuts again to hold onto for next year

Some updates at the airstrip... The new outside plants had a really rough time up there the first almost week with no trellis and cold night winds... getting them fed, caged, and trained.

Also some picture updates in the hugel beds.

Here are some pictures of the big Double OG Chem Dog that I am getting fed up and trained before it starts to flower here soon enough.

Looking great brother! :goodjob:

Did I leave you with a stack of 420 Magazine stickers when I visited you last?

If not, let me get you a stack, when are you coming by 420 HQ to catch up?

Hell yeah, looking good bro!

I just added links to all three of your journals to your signature :high-five:

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, I'll let some of the regulars know you are a personal friend of mine and ask them to subscribe and introduce you to everyone.

Wow that's just beautiful.
Ever part is beautiful.
The plants, the scenery your set up.
I'm in love.
Your a hard worker I see , no end to the amount of up keep there.
So this is the middle of August, some plants still look young.
When do you harvest?
And your cages is that metal fencing just rolled up?
Hope your well my friend.

Terrific gardens my friend.
Really cool setup at the landing strip.
Where do you grow your clones?
The ones planted how often do you water them?
Do you ever feed or just water?
Thanks.

Good Morning Bill!
I must have looked right over this message before, it just came on my radar.

Firstly, we have a facility up North of us (still in Humboldt) that is our permitted nursery for our clone cutting and mom holding. This year was the first year we ran with the nursery shut down, due to several reasons but mainly because of budget cuts.

I only 20% of my typical plant count for the first crop, and am currently only running 60% of my normal second crop right now. With the low plant count it made more sense to outsource our cuts this year. I am setting up a 'micro' nursery here on the main farm to hold moms and make cuts for next year...

In good news, we got our micro license and other permits required to be a legal nursery and distro at or main nursery facility... so next year holds many opportunities for that location with the right funds.

Secondly, watering. So the freshly planted root bound plants I put in for the 2nd round needed extra care the first week + with watering. I hand watered the root ball every day with 2 quarts of tea each day. No hose, just a 5 gallon bucket of tea and a mason jar to disperse it evenly. Now they have adapted to more normal watering schedule.. about every two days weather dependent.

The hugel beds inside the hoop houses have been great on water. They can go three days with no water, but we usually hit them on day 2 and keep that top layer moist.

Lastly, the feeding. That happens often... I always try to get compost teas on before and after planting. I also give all the soil Jadam fertilizer tea's before planting and during the veg phase.
I have barrels of Jadam Fertilizers made over the last couple years. Examples of the different types of Jadam fertilizers include Thistle Fert, Stinging Nettle Fert, Veg Cannabis plant Fert, Flower cannabis buds Fert, Clover Fert, Squash/pumpkins/fall harvest Fert, and some others. These are extremely easy to make and save me tens of thousands of dollars in a year of growing. I plan to make some Fern fertilizers, blackberry vine ferts, and a few more in the near future. They all have different nutritional value and a ready to use within 3-6 months from making.

Before planting, I will dry amend the soil. When I dry amend I use Wilbur Fishbone Meal, Down to Earth Neem Seed Meal, Kelp meal, Glacial Rock Dust, Gypsum, Worm Castings (from our worm beds), & Compost (from our piles). Everything you see is no-till.... I never till in amendments or anything. The amendments get spread on the top of the soil and watered in. Then we Broadfork the soil before planting.

A lot of the living soil here is several years old and maintains itself well with little food... but there is some soil that is rough and needs extra food/attention. All the outside plants in bags are planted in a 75/25 native soil/used potting soil ratio. I give them more teas then the rest. In contrast, the hugel beds are third year hugels, I haven't used any food/fertilizers for the hugel beds 2nd crop. First crop got light dry amendment. They have gotten a couple compost teas, but mainly just water.
Next up is spraying. I am trying to spray every 3 days.... its a tough schedule to keep with the amount of plants to spray but we are handling it successfully right now.

It is only about 3 people working all these plants now for the two different farms
Oh! In response to your second post, the cages. Haven't used these in years but I pulled them out of the old gardens for this ultra-low budget grow this year. All the trellis we have used is leftover from last year also. They are really just fencing/hog paneling rolled up. The smart bags are from another farm used last year but not this, so I took them and made so rough soil mix and filled them

Yes, a lot of the plants are young this time of the season. I got them late from different sources, was unsure for a while if I would have the funds to grow a second crop... and when things started falling in place is was getting late in the season. The harvest this crop will be all over October and November depending the strain... I didn't run any lights (continue the ultra-low budget grow trend) even though I planted small... I really don't want to deal with harvest mold in September just because I wanted the plants to be bigger. I will let everything finish in its natural state, no dep tarps or lights for this run. Minimal maintenance for the few of us that way, too.

All the big plants in smart bags outside, and the line of gush mints in the hugel bed, along with the 900ish Banana creme jealousy clones planted at the Big Rock farm, were all gifted by a generous neighbor/ long-time Humboldt original. That saved my ass for the plant count on the 2nd crop, without spending any money on those plants. The big ones he gave me were his leftover moms that he used to cut for his second round.. which explains why I have them root bound and looking like they have all been trimmed down. They will be a great harvest for me though :)

The Cali OG and the z3 are cuts I made myself with a temp makeshift clone room, the Gelato 41 cuts are from Conception nursery outta Sacromento off seed stock plants. They offer tissue culture clones completely sealed, diesease and pest free guaranteed, and thouroghly tested and tried genetics. Also got some Hawaiian Fanta cuts, and Lemon Ghoulie tissue culture cuts, from another good neighbors down the road. And lastly, the guava kush and California sour diesel came from The Plant Nursery in Southern Humboldt.

Thanks for the love Bill!! Really appreciate it. Hope I answered your questions, and always look forward to more.

Thank you so much for that.
I really appreciate the detailed explanations, you rock. :thumb:
I know your screen time is limited and valuable.
3 people on your crew, must be hard workers.
I've got 25 in my greenhouse and it's a handful.
Ok so bulk cuts from the nursery, guaranteed bug free, what do you pay for those?
It would be by the flat right?
Compared to reg flats $$ ?
The jadam is great, what a variety wow.
I run sponsored nutrients but I've always wanted to try it.
The first harvest must have been mid summer?
Did you dep them ?
How did you manage that many?
Thanks again for the Time, I'm totally in love with your gardens. :thanks::yahoo::yahoo:
Have a great Day.

Everybody that has a hand in is a great person, and provides much appreciated help.
Conception Nursery out of Sacramento/Roseville is the only place in the nation currently that offers these completely sealed and guaranteed clean tissue culture cuts. Not sure of their actual price, it may not be too much different... but through a friend that has an inside with the creators, I was able to get them at $5.50/cut plus delivery. Delivery was from Sacramento to Humboldt, 500 mile round trip for the delivery guy. I think delivery was about $300.. not bad considering.
They come in tiny little flats of 48, oddly enough. I'll add some pictures at the end of the post.
The first crop went in the ground in March, super early. We did dep them. Got the plants big enough in the nursery to Dep right after going in the ground... but it was only 20% of our normal grow so it seemed easy for us to maintain. We grew 100 lbs of finished Krasher (not counting trim and smalls.... the other 150 lbs), 70 lb of Double OG Chem, and 275 pounds of Zkittles^3.... you know not counting all the trim and smalls, those are just weights of finished premium lbs for the market.

Thanks for the love! And who knows... maybe next year I will say done with the commercial growing and just have a greenhouse of 20 myself, that sounds so much more pleasurable. But for the meantime, I will keep y'all updated with my possible last year of regenerative commercial organic growing.

Enjoy the day yourself! thanks again

Tissue culture clones, that's awesome.
$5.50 each is a brilliant price.
So your premium say that 100 lbs of Krasher for instance.
I've got so many questions but my curiosity mostly is sales?
Dry trim and cure we can get to later.
100 lbs how do you package seal ? and sell that?
Dispensaries I assume buy it?
By the lb?
Or 10 lbs?
Or the whole 100 ?
Mind if I inquire as to what you get per ?
If you don't want to say I understand. :Namaste:
And shipping??? How do you transport and guard that ?
Do the cops ever give you a hand time? I've heard a horror Stories?
Last question today I promise.
No rush ever on answering either, again I appreciate the time. :thanks:
Has the banking system caught up with things there?
I read years ago there was a problem with deposits because of Federal Regs?
Have they let you run it like every other legal and needed business in Cali?
No rush, and if I ask questions your uncomfortable answering I apologize in advance. :sorry:
Just skip them over. :Namaste:
This is so interesting my mind is going a 100 miles an hour with everything I've been dieing to know. ;)

:thanks::thanks::thanks:
