Just wanted to say thanks again for all of your hard work! I know you have probably had less sleep than I have with a teething little one, just getting us to where we are now :thanks:

My only issue... well "bug" I am truly experiencing is with the apostrophe. Any time I type "dont" which auto corrects to "don't" the keyboard is minimized and while I continue to type I press random buttons and links. This happens when I type a word without the apostrophe and the keyboard auto corrects. I'm not sure if it is an android issue or glitch, and may be something totally unrelated to your end, but it is the only thing really keeping me from using the new improved forum. I have noticed some words like "I'm" auto correct to "I'" without the m and then take me to the next line down as if I presses "return".

I don't have the time or patience to manually add apostrophes on my phone. And the constant kick back out of the keyboard makes typing then having to work back a page or two a tedious task this dabber rather avoid all together.

Other than this issue, which may only be effecting me personally, things seem to be coming into form and members adapting to the new format.

I do agree that the text being auto saved has been a saving grace to my dilemma.

Anyways just wanted to mention this little bug to see if any other are having the same problem or if it just a "me" issue.

Thanks again for your hard work! :ganjamon:
Thank you for the love and support, brother. It is greatly appreciated.

Your report has been submitted to the developers, hopefully something they can resolve with a tip or fix. Like you said though, could be an Android issue, we'll see what they say. It's in motion now. :)

I'm

I'm definately going to keep you in mind. There were a few things on your list that were new to me. Lol!

I found a new glitch. I was leaving a welcoming message for our newest sponsor, and when I posted it up popped my Facebook identity, complete with full name and photo. I deleted it, of course. I hadn't checked the "share on Facebook" box, so this was quite the shock

Might want to fix that one.
I wonder if it is possible that you randomly clicked something to activate that, without realizing it. I know you are hyper active like me, so I can relate to these possibilities. I sometimes move my mouse around and click on things while I am reading, just because I have so much energy, like you. This can often cause things to be activated, without realizing it. Now I'm not saying you did this, and understand it could be a bug, however with so much going on, I think it might be best to wait to see if that happens again, and if it does, get us a screenshot or some more detailed specifics, to relay to the developers for investigation. It would also help to have others report the issue as well.

Yup. This implementation is anything but. It's like a group of people were all working on their own little area's and not the site as a whole. It doesn't flow. The sususcribed threads updates are separate from the new posts and the whole thing is sort of disjointed.

When you start clicking on threads and everyone is asking "how do I do this" and "where did they move that" it's pretty evident. I haven't been here all that long, 6 months or so but I have noticed a drop off in posting from a lot of people that I am following as a result of the changes.
The drop off is due to many things; people thinking Tatapalk still works, trying to login there. Others thinking our mobile app is still active, trying to login there. Our SEO dropping , due to the url changes and a few import issues we are resolving. And yes, because they dislike change and/or are having difficulty adapting to the changes. The random incredibly slow page loads are not helping things either. Then there are even those who disappear, to follow the others guys who disappeared lol Regardless, almost all of these issues are either already resolved or in the process of being resolved, just give us a few more weeks to get everything and everyone acclimated and then this will all be something we can celebrate and chuckle over.

Hi all - this is a tip I’ve just worked out, and thought I’d share.

When you’re up to date with a thread or journal, it’s been irritating me that following it’s link from my list of watched threads takes me to the first page not the last (if there’s a new post it successfully takes me there but if there’s no new posts it drops me on page one).

So, if instead of clicking on the thread title you click on the date stamp - where it says ‘3 minutes ago’ or ‘2 days ago’ etc. - it will take you to the most recent post!

Phew! That’s been driving me nuts.

It would be good though if the system could recognise that if there’s no unread messages, then 9 times out of 10, the latest page is where you want to land.

:Namaste:
Amy, Sue & TorturedSoul, you three have been amazing with helping us find bugs, learning, sharing and teaching others how to do things, and recommending so many great features. Thank you so very much, we are truly grateful. The task I have is to sift through all of it now and make sense of everything, not knowing if any of it has already been resolved or not. The constant side conversations, jokes, ramblings etc from everyone, is making it difficult to get through. May I ask you three a huge favor please, to go through this and any other threads you posted these things in, and organize them into three separate lists; Bugs, How To & Suggestions/Feature Requests. Please be specific, giving examples so when we relay the data to the developers, they have everything they need to understand and replicate the issue, without sending us back to you with more questions. This would help us all tremendously and get us on track faster.

Meanwhile, I'll keep picking away at everyone else's reports. :thanks:
:Namaste:

Thank you, Pennywise. I'm glad I'm not the only one missing a menu. I will follow entertainment the next time I take pics. :)
We've got our stylist on this issue now. It appears to be a conflict between the old copy of the forums we are saving until we make sure everything imported and works right, and the new copy of the forums, for some of you, pulling the old header. I was hoping it was a clearing cache issue, however Russ is on the task now and should have it resolved as soon as possible.

Older OS's definitely play havoc with some of the features. My iPhone is one update behind. My iPad is several behind - and there are a bunch of features that just don't appear or don't work - and all sorts of differences in how the forum operates on the two devices.

When I request desktop mode on my phone ( using Chrome) it appears to go through the motions - but nothing changes. It claims I'm in desktop mode and gives me the option to switch back to mobile mode - but there's no discernible difference between the two. Looks like desktop mode is just not available to me. Hopefully to be solved if I update the OS.

Seems like there's lots of room for funky quirks and confusion just within this point.
Are you venturing out for Wifi today? :cheer:

ok then! Thanks. I'll stop making them :thumb:

:volcano-smiley:
Please feel free to keep helping other with tutorials, if it's something we have not made one for yet. Looks like we will need some tutorials on how to do things in the forums as well. if Ian plans do them himself, that would be great. Otherwise, maybe you two could work together, see what his thoughts are. Whatever gets the job done, thanks you two!

TheMadDabber, the developer has asked for this information
We’ll need device, OS/browser and version details to be able to attempt to reproduce it in the first instance.

Are you venturing out for Wifi today?
Not today Rob. It's not that easy. We live in different worlds! I meant it when I said middle of nowhere. I had to laugh at that Starbucks suggestion. Wifi sources are few and far between here. An hours drive to the closest source that I can think of- the library which is closed today/and most days.
It will take having a day off at the right time and the luxury of a few spare hours. Sometime in the next couple weeks.
No worries.

A user friendly format that fits in my pocket. Thats all I need. I just deleted a rambling bitchfest cause its pointless. I would love to stick around through this. Can we at least get honest up to date info?
We are providing 420% honest up to date info, and our website is 420% mobile friendly, so it does fit in your pocket. Are you starting to warm up to things a little better today? :)

Otherwise, maybe you two could work together, see what his thoughts are. Whatever gets the job done, thanks you two!

Great idea. Amy, watch for an incoming Conversation.

Ian

I see the mobile app is still available. Is there still hope that it will return at some point?

Not if 420 continues to steal content by forcing our member's photo uploads to their servers. We host our servers in Canada to protect you guys, they don't. They delete photos of anything federally illegal in random batches, leaving the threads/posts with no photos, rendering them somewhat worthless.

Here is something I copy/pasted from an earlier post.

Yeah 420 was a mess, they banned us from their support forums for bumping reported bugs for action that you all had been reporting. The entire company is in China, only one or two of them speak English and they shut down photo uploads from our app without notice. When we complained, they said we could leave when we wanted, so we did.

We had been wanting to leave them for over a year, due to their bugs and extremely terrible, if any, tech support and customer service. Not only that, but they were stealing our content, member data, etc. which we view as a major conflict of interest and security breach. Plus they were promoting competitors to our members and also chat rooms, which took our members away from interacting here.

Once we get our fully mobile ready website tweaked to perfection, our next task is to develop a new app for just us, with only us being in full control of our own data.

Anytime you share a login with two entities, you are sharing the data with them. You guys knew you were sharing data with them when you downloaded the app and agreed to their terms. We just didn't know they would force our photo uploads to their server, then shut off photo uploads altogether without notice or permission. This was very shady, so we did what we had to, in order to break free. I doubt there is anything to worry about, however it would probably be a good idea to change your passwords regularly, which is always a healthy practice anyway.

Should those of us who used the app be worried that people have been stealing our member data for more then a year?

No need to worry. It's mostly to do with our photos that they hosted on their server & could delete at will.

They are a third party app, so our member data was also used by them to send updates and suggestions about other forums.
