BMG Grow Journal

Haven't been so excited for a plant since I began growing. Almost had an accident when it would have fell but I caught her! I couldn't help but to think about the horror stories of people loosing plants. This plant will be cherished for a long time! I matched up 2 males with the narrowest leaves to preserve.

The Brunch is pretty weird. It puts out calyx that look like male pollen sacs. What I've also noticed about The Brunch is that it has a large trichome coverage in preflower that consists of the stems as well as other parts of the plant. I must admit I am impressed with it's looks and smell. After a stem rub I can confirm a "Burnt Peanut" smell. I was initially skeptical at first and thought there's No Way in hell a cannabis plant can smell like Peanut butter. I was wrong! As of right now she's checked every box in the book but I'm still skeptical until she's finished curing to how she smokes. Yea it looks nice with all the little crystals in preflower all over the plant, pretty cool that it does in fact smell like "Burnt Peanuts"... but the real question is how does she smoke?

This image below is of a little side branch to try and depict The pollen sac looking calyx.

"The Star" of Presv#2. 🥰 Her leaves are long and narrow like a sativa but she's short and stocky like an indica and had no stretch. I see myself with this particular plant for a long long time. She's definitely one to pull out and show to friends when they come over. I can't wait to see how cool she looks in Bonsai after reveg.

The Brunch by Dirty Bird Genetics
Definitely has a strong "Peanut Butter" smell. If you look at the Old Genetics of the past compared to the New Age Genetics hereof. It grew better than any of the Old Genetics. It was able too handle stressful environments with ease Hot and Cold, recovered quicker than any of the other plants, and the most resilient of all the plants in Presv#2. It began trichome production at the start of preflower and is the most frosty plant in my grow. It definitely makes me rethink my stance that all New Strains are Hype. It checks every box in the book so far and I'm not even a month in flowering..

Presv#2 is done. Successful pollination. Just cruising to the finish line at this point. The Brunch by Dirty Bird Genetics has been pollinated with a Purple Autoflower pollen that I had stored. I still have to hit a female from Presv#2 with a Purple Auto male and vice-versa. I don't think I'll be getting much pollen from this run with Presv#2 but will attempt to collect some after all the plants have been pollinated. Pictures are of Presv#2 plants and Purple autos.

Different Pollinations going on right now.

Presv#2 pollination to Presv#2 is completed and successfull.

My main objective is preservations. The hybrids that come from my Preservations is the least of my concern.

2 Purple Kush Autos were selected to go in the cab with Presv#2 Male.

2 Purple Kush Autos are set aside to be pollinated with Presv#1 pollen

1 Presv#2 is set aside to pollinate with Presv#1 pollen.

These new Genetics kick old school Genetics butt with how they grow. Atlas Seeds has one of the Best growing Autoflowers I've seen. Dirty Bird Genetics frost up as soon as you see pistils. Crazy too see how plants have evolved from what they once were. I still think the Old School Genetics takes the win for potency and best high but my god these new age Genetics are something too see.

Everything i said above means nothing if "New Age Genetics" herm, with the exception to the Autoflower.

The Brunch from Dirty Bird threw out a few bananas so I chopped it down. (Wasted Auto pollen) it was definitely entertaining watching this plant blow my Old genetics out the water "temporarily". If this was a success I would have purchased a few different packs from them because the plant was amazing until it started to herm.

Would I give Dirty Bird Genetics another shot?
Absolutely Not! I have too much shit going on with preservations to be anybodies "Tester". I have another freebie seed of "The Brunch" which will be gifted away with the acknowledgement that it may herm. (Kinda turned me off too getting Freebies with my order)

Presv#2 pollination was unsuccessful for the Auto male cross. I did not give the plant enough time before spraying her down (Wasted Auto Pollen)

Ran out of Auto pollen

looking at the brighter side of thing's, The successful Pollination of Preservation #2 with a plant that fits the criteria to keep the Preservation in a direction of purity. Instead of breeding one of the Prev#2 plants to Presv#1 I decided to breed it back to itself so that I have more than enough seeds ready for when I go back into this line.

Pictured below is The Brunch.

Them some big 'nanners. Sorry to see it go that way for you. It still looks like you have a ton going on.
It's alot! Especially trying to keep everything sterile becomes time consuming and repetitive. At this point I just want to get close enough to the finish line before I get a head start on Presv#3.

Ive already started to prep for Presv#3. My wife has been telling me she's tired of seeing the same old typical "Marijuana plant" and wants to see something diffrent. So I've moved what was supposed to be Presv#5 (A Novelty Strain) to the next in line. I'll be looking forward to getting through the next Presv quickly so that I can get back on track.

This plant grew too tall to where I had to snap the branch in order for it to fit inside the pollination tent. I repaired the stem by putting electrical tape around it and it is doing fine. All the parts below and above the electrical tape are making seeds.
