Bluter's Happy Home For Hilarious Hempsters

They’re looking good, hoping your spiders laid eggs.

all kinda left at the same time. i've seen an odd one or two, but not like two days ago.

little killers probably gained size and fanned all through the house. there's super tiny sneakers hanging off stuff so they probably claimed the hood .. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Spiders are funny. The hunters will eat each other after the other food sources are gone. The females will often eat the males after copulation as well. There can be a few reasons why their numbers dropped.

Definitely a hunting/jumping spider. They only utilize single threads to travel and don't spin proper webs.

they are insanely tiny. the one pic is through a loupe. the other is as best my crap camera can get, then digitally cropped and enlarged. i need a real camera. the old canon is hating me. saw a couple 'large' ones you could see as spiders without optical aid.

honestly believe they cleared out the mites. i dunno what else they'd be there for. there's a few other things they could go after. sure don't wanna kill them off. i'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, unless the spider pals ate the eggs too lol.

here's your morning 420 hempys today

had to spread them out a bit. the ones at the back won't get as much light now. the ceiling is slanted since it is under a stairwell, and it forced me to mount the light at the very front of the space. it'll be fine though, i rotate the plants through the space when i feed them, so they get equal exposure over time. they still droop before bedtime no matter.

the ladies like to dance. they like the old ones. lately learning to twist. :cheesygrinsmiley:

have been training branches around the sides of the pot to place them in better balance. would have been done with a cage previous, and been a bit more pronounced on a bigger plant.

i'm getting very near the point where i stop training in these little pots. :)

these can be flipped any time now. still have a few things at the flower room i wanna do. thinking of running the nextlight and will need a dimmer set up if i do.

will probably drop the floor today. i'm close to a a deeper defol as well. the last one wasn't so extensive on purpose, but it may be a bit early today.

Nice carpet of green going on in there now. Looking forward to seeing what they do in flower. This method seems like a great way to utilise the space you have.

that's the point of near any training. scrog is still the best method for an even canopy. i can't accomplish a scrog under my circumstances though, and this is a decent compromise. look up quad lining.

Done a couple of quadlines before. Really good but I don't think I got the full benefits because of my height constraints.

nice plant.

my quads and other training never reach what i could do either. the size of the pot and my turn around for clones limit things. i keep plants to about 3 ft or so now. hempy is great for smaller plants with a bit of training. with an up pot or two you can grow monsters too.

I definitely think I'll give the hempy pots a try at some point. What I'm thinking of doing is some clones in 2L fabric pots with soil followed by clones of the same plant in 2L hempy pots and see what the difference is. Compare, growth, yield, problems, time spent watering etc. This is if I can get cuttings to root of course. My first attempt was a flop. I probably have about 10 weeks before the flower tent will be free again so that should be enough time to get the bonsai mothers big enough and some cuttings rooted.

the one drawback with hempy is frequent feeding. it is similar to coco that way. i feed about every 2 - 3 days in veg, and up to daily in flower.

the pots weigh zero once they get going. it's hard to keep them upright as all the weight is at the top.

damn. everyone keeps asking what i want for christmas.
i really want boveda packs and seeds. but i can only ask santa. the ones asking don't have a clue ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

i have a powerplant and a gorilla glue running now. the gorilla is showing mostly as an indica pheno though. it should be more sativa dominant.

and up to daily in flower.

oh,, really? hempy is a lot of watering,, indeed,,

i am surprised to see you can be watering every day in flower

just cuz i have not come across that . just curious,, have you ever considered raising the holes on your posts,, just a bit

makes sense it would require less watering. obviously there is a limit to how high the hole can be

i know it matters not but i will mention my schedule,, quite simple,, i full water with nutes, then two days later i give one cup (i say cup but it is a plastic glass, probly a cpl actual cups worth in there) of plain water with a bit of cal/mg in it, then next night i full fert water again

so, full on fert watering every three days, for at least a year on that exact schedule

i also have a hole higher up on my pots, a bunch of em anyway,, for times i 'need' to be away longer,, it can give me one extra day between waterings

cool eh? ha

karma sent friend,,

oh,, one quaded plant by itself looks so cool,, i think i might do my back grass on quaded cannabis,, that would be amazing looking,, ha

the hole is set in hempy as a percentage of the total bucket.

the height from bottom is a bit arbitrary, but really shouldn't change by more than a half inch or so. too low and they won't have enough of a res to get by, too high and you'll promote root rot and other problems.

2 1/4 to 2 1/2 just works out in most containers to be the same 15 or so percent that a decent hempy res is.

i have taped the hole up and let the res leak out slow if i need an extra day or so. it isn't a good idea unless the plants are well established though.

currently i feed almost the same as soil ie: i use a lift method to determine if the buckets are dry. i let the plants get a good dry cycle in veg. it's been about every 2 1/2 - 3 days that they need a feed. i haven't been doing it on a schedule at all. defol, training, and temps will also affect how much they consume.

in flower though i wind up feeding every day. that tiny 2L pot winds up supporting a 2 1/2 to 3 ft plant. they pull it fast.

got a few hempy things done this week.

snuck up on them all happy in veg and unsuspecting ..

vegging away .... not much to see here ... then whoops

everyone got the big snip, dropped the floor, and adjusted the ties.

it was a deep defol. about 25% or so. it sets them back a bit but opens them right up. the side branching in the interior will start to develop now, and will eventually provide my clones.

i've been training the lower branches in to place so the main colas come up around the outside of the buckets, more or less evenly.

full

this power plant shows the structure and exposed interior.

though it might look like they took quite a major mauling , you can be rest assured they sure did ... :cheesygrinsmiley:
but they do bounce back real well.

full

that's the next morning 12 hrs after the big snip and tie.

from this point on the clock is ticking fast toward flip. probably looking a couple wks or so. there will be another less drastic defol in a couple weeks or so at flip. will take clones then, and thin the smaller interior stuff out. then a bit of a lollipop around 2 wks in just to clean things up.

they come back quick. this is a day later at feeding time and 24 hrs after the defol.

full

and the difference 2 days after the haircut

you can't see it in this pic but i have a couple already growing into my 24 inch head room. 2 powerplants and one of the gorilla glue decided to show the sativa .. :p

also the drop and a defol helps to encourage a bit more stretch once everything turns to run to the light.

it's more about time. i have sativa leaners so these might go a bit higher.

i've been keeping my height to between 3 and 4 feet total, including the bucket, which is about 8 inches. the buckets are 2 L. hempy has to be the strangest way i have ever grown.
