I definitely don't see a SOG being my style...it would be interesting, but I think I would rather grow full size plants. If I was cloning...it might be tempting, but starting from seed it seems like a waste.
I was thinking 4 plants initially, but seeing how wide these are getting....2 is already overlapping. I can easily see with a little more training and moving from a 1gallon pot to a 15 gallon pot, that I could easily fill this space with one plant.
Yes, it's a trade off. If you want a full size plant, budget at least a 2' (60 cm) circle for them. Thirty two colas in a 2' X 4' tent, on a 6" (15cm) grid is pushing the boundaries. Take a look at the colas on your plants. Each one with its sugar leaves needs about a 6" circle. That's why mine are on a grid that size. Decide how many of them you want in your tent, Then take a look at the training methods. When you decide on a training method, you will know how many plants you need to fill the tent. You also want to consider whether or not you'll move the plants around in the tent. You may do this for training, watering, or even to change how the light falls on the plants.
Starting many plants from seed costing $10 or more is a waste. That's the main reason I'm trying to produce seed from feminized plants. Another reason is that I'll be able to start many, and end up with the four best at harvest.
