Blue Mystic In Canna Terra Pro Using Cheap LED

Seedling...wtf! ...said to mix it all up ...on the tarp..DRY..then add lil bits of water to the soil AS YOU FILL UP THE TOTES!!
Now your tarp is all yukky...PFFT!......
Sorry....guess my last message was a bit jumbled.

I mixed it dry on the tarp all together, then just filled the two totes with the dry mix.

Then I emptied about half of the dry back onto the tarp....mixed half the water with the tote half...then added the remaining dry stuff on top with the rest of the water and mixed it all together.

Super clean over here :bong:

Mornin to ya bud! Oh,...OK, understood. Ya, now you know that process. I like to just add about 3 or 4 inches of dry soil at a time then add more water , repeat. Makes a bit easier shovel mixing while in the totes. This is how i always do it in my rec room. I like how easy clean up is and a job well done. Cheers seedling...enjoy your day bud.

Noted....yeah, I got no space here to have a huge mound of soil laying around. Filling them up with dry was a bit of an oversight, but ended up working out for the best cause I had enough room to work comfortably.

I picked a good shovel...and really glad I did. I was able to mix it up real good in the totes. Sinking the shovel down and giving a twist....worked like a charm.

I should let it sit for how long before checking in? It is probably best to not disturb it much in the process eh?

Also....I was thinking about light cycle this morning. You could probably shed a bit of light here :p

I have been running my lights here on at noon and off 16 hours later. I wake up real early every morning for work...so it makes it so I can see them in the morning and after work. When we go to flower it is gonna be a much different situation.

What are the most Important factors? I wanna have access at lights on every day to be able to foliar feed if I need to right?

Happy Sunday btw

OK, great questions bud! This is how i recommend you set up your lights and photoperiods.
I always have my lights ON at night when i'm home to monitor and electric rates are at their cheapest. It works out the best , as i sleep better and am not worried while i'm away all day , cuz i know the grow room is sleeping. My lights come on at approx. 4 oclock PM (when i get home from work), stay on for either 16 or 12 hours and then turn off for the day . this system is simply the best for wat we do. So,..if you work days and are home at night , then do it this way , period!
As far as number of hrs. in veg and bloom....set the veg hrs. to a max. of 16 on and 8 off. When you flip to 'bloom' , set the time off to be sooner . Example would be to reset 'off' time sooner,..understood. So always have the lights coming on at the same time , regardless of growth stage....just adjust the time'off' as, per growth stage. Understood?
18 hrs. on is simply unnecessary for a great veg. period. It's not needed,...16 hrs. is plenty ...trust ,me....but when growing with these hrs. you have to start out with them and not switch half way into your vegging period. Understood?

That is all making a lot of sense and simplifies everything.

Next run I will veg out at 16/8 and have everything starting at 4PM. It actually is pretty perfect cause I always get back around 30 minutes past 4.

For the rest of this run....could I move the lights on and off up an hour each day until we get to 4?

Yes...me too...i get home every day at 4:20....so , with my picture sessions the time creeps back some cuz i take about 5 or 10 min's. to get all the pics...after a few of those sessions...the time on creeps back to around 4:20 or so. works out perfectly.
As far as your present grow goes...imo , i would leave it alone. Keep with your present schedule and start the NEW program with the start of your next (first DBHBB) grow. It's never a good idea to change/adjust the photoperiod half way thru a grow, unless it's an emergency , of sorts. Better to play it safe. Lets just get this grow finished up with the best possible results for you and your people. OK!
With Archie's last grow , i told him about the 16 hr. thing and he changed his times to that , and his friggen Durban decided the two hr. decrease was enough to trigger her flowering. His other plants did not , and all was good , but him and i learned a lesson from it...but DOEs NOT mean that 16 hrs. is too short ....wat that told us , is that the two hr. sudden decrease in light was enough for that strain to begin it's 'bloom'. Cheers.

Got it. Should be able to adjust to start at 4 when I make the switch then. Through the rest of veg it doesn't make much difference anyhow.

Thanks again for the knowledge
:high-five:

I tried a one week changeover from 18/6 to 12/12 for my first grow. I clipped time from both the start and end of the lights on period, thinking this would be a more natural transition. All my subsequent grows were just a complete change from one day in veg to the next in flower. I do however keep the middle of the lights on period at the same time of day. I didn't notice a difference in the stretch period between the two methods.

I'm home almost all day, and there are no day/night power rate differences so it really doesn't matter to me when it's high noon for the plants. I generally run 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM for veg, and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM for flower. I have the automatic waterings at 30 min after lights on, and two hours before lights out.

Hey Salty, a groovin Sunday to ya....:passitleft:...Your photoperiods are perfect for your schedule with being home almost every day, all day. Also with no 'rate' changes, makes your times best suited to you , for sure.
However , with most growers, temperature's are a big factor too. For instance , i couldn't grow , the way i do (with no supplemental cooling) during the day,...it would simply get too hot . That's a major reason i grow at night,..all the other benefits are just a big bonus,..like cheaper rates, off , while i'm away working every day, etc.
So for me, and most , it just makes 100% sense to have the lights come on at night.
Goes to show , there are a lot of very different situations out there with many different life styles.
enjoy the day Salty....:high-five:

Humidity is more of a concern than temperature where I live. Daytime temperatures only climb above 30°C / 86°F a few days each summer. With the new DIY light, I much prefer the first grow with it on while I'm up and about. I'm confident that it's safe, but the extra precaution won't hurt.

Today is all about relaxing from here on out....I like that Durban daytime feeling.

Don't like the posture ...but they are green...You will like growing with Doc's gear. Plants will look more 'alive'.
These were just watered, correct. Look a lil droopy...

They got water two days ago. Lights have been on for almost 2 hrs.

Definitely excited to see the difference. It was also one of the reasons I wanted to give it a shot this way. Mixing up the soil was definitely more work than I thought....as opposed to just using straight from the bag. Sure it will be so worth it though.

I have noticed they have been a bit droopy. There are also some yellowing showing up on a few leaves.

Yes,..they should have way better posture...let them dry out before next drink. Something is not right.....
Remind viewers that this is NOT HB soil. Have you given them any of Doc's Tea yet...

I let them really dry out before the last feed. They have been getting light after three days, and I think I waited five to let them have a couple dry days.

I have been thinking of saving most of that stuff, but I could dig into it. I should be putting an order in sooner than later.
