Bignstrange's 4x4 800W COB LED Grow Tent - Promix - New Grower - Drop In!

Yea that's the led through the glasses and with my light symbol on my phone all the way down- I'm not gunna pretend like I know what that is XD

I'm really looking into method 7s, well my sister's considering buying them for me cause these lights are insanely intense. I think my eyes get used to it then when I get out of the tent I can't see for a minute, with the cheap glasses on :S

As for spectrum I think it'll be ok,I can always throw that cfl back in there but these lights do have a good amount of blue in them; the spectrum chart on page 1 or 2 shows it pretty good. I have the light at 34 inches and they seem to be liking it, I'll take pictures of the new growth tonight and y'all can tell me if it all looks good .

Do you think, if there is too much red, it might affect the growth rates? I'll take a pic of the light color without the glasses later too so you can see what's up

Wow medicated and wordy XD

No I'm actually worried about your blue in spectrum of that light curious to see a chart on it?

Will pm you in a sec . just gotta clean up a bit n get to the computer

Light specs for the unit I have, keep in mind I have 2 of these bad boys in the 4x4

And this which I don't understand

Pm incoming within 30 KJ .

Just think more blue is needed actually in my opinion you want a balanced light maybe red being a tad higher . This is from my understanding thus far . I just think if it's not strong on the blue which is needed in veg your not maximizing your veg? Roots? More fruits?

I dunno learning brotha thinking out loud .

Yea I think your right. I'm definitely not qualified to interpret the information above or how it affects the plants, but I'm sure more blue would help.

I'll see if i can convince a family member to gift me a cheap veg panel just to add that extra spectrum in! I know they say full spectrum but I'm sure a bit more blue could help!

Also this is a pic of the light without glasses or any changing of color

Hey it will grow eithier way again just thinking what makes sense to me

Ya for sure, I'm just plotting over here >:)

Thinking I might be able to justify another light purchase to the fam ;)

hopefully no one comes along to contradict our arguments so that when they read this they take our word XD

Oops

I vegged mine using my cheap 1500w King Plus light. I don't think they utilize the far red during vegging so other than heat it doesn't mean much but you will want them close enough to have enough blue. Think of standard or CFL lights, Blue for veg and red for bloom. I started at 30" (300 PAR) then pretty much vegged at 500 PAR at 24". You've got some bright lights there by your uMol spec but it doesn't show the footprint. I just follow what the plants are telling me. Just my 2 cents and how I've worked it out for my grow so far.

Yea I know what you mean. These lights make almost 900 par at 3 feet, but I guess the question was how effective this particular spectrum is for vegging, not necessarily overall power.

It could be all there, and like you say, it just doesn't use the light it doesn't need. And maybe the red is just overpowering the blue, to our eyes? It could have enough blue for vegging and more red as flowering plants just need more :S

Idk well let it grow and see how it does! Either way I'll take Joes advice and start looking for something more geared towards veg cause I wanna get my clone and mother tent going too and I'm over the novelty sized cfls lol

I love talking about this stuff, I wanna dial in everything, I never really gave thought to HOW much blue there is in the lights. I guess my mind just went full spectrum ? .

Lol yeah I hear ya!
I'm looking at setting up a clone/starter small tent and I am leaning in just a T5 direction for that. Nothing more is really needed I don't think for 1 foot or less plants. It's a cost thing for me as well though. Hate to spend on a full spectrum when all that's needed is 5-6K blue lights. Now I hear having some green spectrum in is good as well. LOL it will never end.

Harley has some amazing videos on spectrum I'm still learning it myself so ..
Yeah you could just lower lights liek he said above but just something to consider and maybe do some more researching ?

I hate to disagree but the logic explained to me is is both are needed for veg it still requires red I can't really explain myself well enough but I'll see if I can find the link. And at least scooter bro maybe you can see why I'm convinced of this? Let see ..

I've definitely grown a bush under one **correction 2**of these 6400k 200 w cfls before, you can certainly veg under just blue light, I wish I had pics of my first plant, Afghan kush, mofo was 3 feet wide and 1.5 foot tall at the end of veg XD

I'm thinking of trying an LED t5 panel that uses both blue and red lights, I can adjust how many bulbs of each color I put in. I think it would be the ultimate cloning/mother light. Long life, low running cost, cool temps, better penetration than a cfl and they come in all sorts of magical sizes that give me dreams about all things mothery.. and .. cloney XD :blunt: . so many poofs

Also another shot of the plants, this cob unit produces light that's all kindsa crazy

Oh yeah man I'm not arguing just discussing.
GWE has a great read on it. You can kind of pick what works for you from the information. Turns out MJ will grow with just about anything lol

Like you said it'll never end, there's just so much to research!

I checked the girls again and they are speeding up growth so they're liking whatever's going on, I think they might have been hungry :cheesygrinsmiley:

Feed me Seymour!
Lol what a throw back . I actually had to look that up to remember where I saw it XD

What do y'all think about a mars 300 or something of the sorts for my veg tent? 35"x18"x however tall, would that be enough light for the space?

As far as I can tell they look happy and well fed! Let me know if there's any problems my untrained eye is missing! Light is at 32 inches now

G'night y'all,

sweet dreams lil ladies .

You can almost have as much light in there as possible the stronger the lights the less close you can put them .

It comes down to enviroment really

Control it and your limits are endless my friend.

Yessir! I'm hoping we can dial it in and keep these plants happy throughout their lives :cheesygrinsmiley:

I can't wait to see fan leaves as big as my head in a month lol they're growing pretty quick since the feeding yesterday, picture update shortly!
