BigBearNTX Perpetual Auto Grow

Saturday Update:

Girls are one week above ground. They are a little leggy because stupid me didn’t realize that my big light was unplugged the first half of the week. I’ll plant them a littler deeper when I transplant and all will be good.

I typically transplant at the three week mark, so I’ve got two weeks to think about what pots I’m doing this time. I some new small buckets 80oz, so about 2.5 liter. I can make new hempy buckets for these girls, or I can use the 2 liter nursery pots with deep saucers that I used last run. I may do new buckets, just because I think I can squeeze six of the new buckets into my tent easier than six of the saucers. I’ll do some experimenting and see.

Once the DDAs are done, I may run a SOG of Blueberry clones in these 1 liter pots.

Saturday update on Sunday. I took the picture yesterday, but just getting to posting today.

Plants look good. They should be ready for transplant next week. Not adding any additional nutrients, but it looks like the babies have found the O+ that is in my mix. I’ll start supplementing after transplant.

And as a bonus: I’m working on some pots. I normally throw in the wheel, but I promised a batch to be ready in a month, so using a slip mold.

Sunday update:

Transplant day! Everyone got put into 2 liter nursery pots. Added a bit of myco, but don’t know how well that will work in perlite/coco, since there really isn’t anything to feed the mycos.

The nursery pots sit in deep saucers to act as the hempy reservoir.

Looking happy and healthy in here Bear :ciao:

Maybe you’re right about the mycos having no one to feed them... but maybe it still helps. I know there are other products that claim to assist the rhizosphere in a synthetic, or hydro style grow.

They look good in any case. :thumb:

Hope you’re well and doing well big bear

I suppose it’s the carbohydrate exudates from the roots that feed the fungus, and the macro nutes excreted by the fungus that feeds the roots.

And I’m doing well, thanks. Just kinda think n cruise control around here. :)

So, with a perlite and coco mix, how often are you watering vs feeding? Can you go multiple days without watering?

I transplanted today as well.

I tend to water about every two days. It also depends on how mature the plant is. Nearing harvest I need to check every day. I feed with every watering...mostly.

I really really want to try this sometime in this flood tray I have.

I haven’t yet found a 24”x24” flood tray. I suppose I could order one, but I don’t care that much. Lol

We’re you thinking of using the flood tray as a reservoir, or just to catch the overflow from a traditional hempy?

I have good plastic trays at the bottom of my tents, be sure you get an inch or two smaller than the tent size or it’s a very tight perhaps even seam splittingly fit.

Went back and checked my emails, it looks like the Super Lemon Haze that I got as a freebie is an auto. I thought it was a photo, and was going to clone the to cutting when I topped her. Now I think I’m just going to let her and the DDA grow naturally. I’m not worried about maximizing yields at the moment, since I have a good stash of bud, fresh harvest oil, canna butter, and tincture.

I would normally top and do some LST, but I’m just going to let these grow into little trees. I will probably do some supercrppong later though if the get too tall for my tent.

All the plants are growing like...uh...weeds. That’s another reason for not topping, the Super Lemon Haze is almost at the 4 week point, and she may only go 9 weeks. Supposed to be a very fast maturing strain.

I’m just going to play it by ear and see how it goes.

I have a botanicare 24x24 flood tray. Nice quality tray. I was thinking I could use it for overflow for multiple hempy plants of the same type on the same schedule.

Using it now in veg as it works great as a big ass saucer.
