Brandon420's Living Soil 2022 Second Run

Good morning/afternoon everyone...

Here's a few update pics... put some descriptions for each picture as always.

Beautiful pictures and beautiful ladies.

Thanks Grateful!
This came up on my Facebook memories... Here is some pics from the tail end of the 1st run of deps in 2020. Had a really late 2nd run that year, doing planting in the end of august and September. Also was hit with the August complex fire just weeks later after this picture.

Awesome grow!
I'm curious how you manage pests - if you get a free minute could you elaborate on the PH adjusted water you spray?
Thanks!

Freeken Brilliant. :yahoo:
You really know how to make people smile. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Just curious in the pic, the yellow lines what do you grow there?
Doesn't it loose light.
The center row , do you ever have problems accessing it?
And last red lines , hoop tunnel.
Strictly for support or do you ever poly them?
Thanks Amigo, hope you are your wife have a wonderful day. :thumb:

The alkaline/acidic water sprays are some of my favorites to do when the time allows. I will get some info onto this thread that my lady put together about cannabis and kangen. 2.5ph is great for killing bugs and their eggs... .yes the dreaded hemp/russet/broad mites too. 11.5 is good for killing spores.... PM and mold... and the 11.5 is also great to use to get oil to mix with water. I'm forgetting the proper term currently... but helps you blend things like neem oil into water so their is less separation.
It's also pretty healthy/hydrating drinking water.... the 8.0-9.5ph. I drink 9.5 ph from the machine daily. You absorb a lot more of the water you need without it passing right through you.

Glad I can keep the smiles around! :) This wonderful online community keeps me smiling.

The in-between area of the plants is simply for the plants to have space.... typically the beds are vegged lot bigger before I start flowering them. This year I went natural, no lights to keep them vegging in the hoops. I'm shooting for a smaller on-time harvest. Also looking to do a lot of fresh frozen/live rosin instead of hanging everything to dry. In beds 24 and 25, the lemon ghoul and Hawaiian Fanta, I only ran two rows of plants instead of three... they were planted a month earlier. They still filled in the whole 'isle' in between the plants. The bottom of the middle row loses light on the crops with big plants. We do extra thinning to accommodate and if all other factors are appropriate. the smalls on the plant will get left to grow after harvest for another week or two.

Next question... do I have trouble accessing the center row? absolutely.... haha. on bigger crops I've army crawled under the trellis in the 'isles' to deleaf/thin or to add METRC tags. The goal is to do as much as you can to the center row before adding trellis, but adding trellis before the plants are too big and hard to deal with. With these smaller plants, it's a lot easier to access the center... for me. I'm 6'6 or so and have pretty long arms.
And lastly, the hoops. They are for trellis support, for hanging lights to veg, and for covering with poly. Use the clear poly on the early first crop... or if it starts to pour on the crop as its finishing. Used the Black and white poly over the hoops to dep the first run... I decided not to put the labor into depping anything for the first run and let it run out natural. The garden looks better without all that plastic in it anyways.
The goal is to start replacing all these hoops with 1-2 rows of hugel each.. and run only one crop/year. So no hoop tunnels or plastic. I like it better all natural.

Thanks for stopping by Bill, and for the support. Me and the lady are having a good day... I oughta get a ring though... and then I can say wife.

Here is some pictures my lady put together last year. They contain info on kangen water with pictures from the farm here.
My lady is a distributor.. She can help someone get set up with a machine and on a payment plan if requested.
There are several large scale operations in the area too... nurseries and full grows... that use kangen water on a large scale successfully. I think it's more common in other countries, but I'm sure it will catch on eventually.

Awesome write up young man super farm . Wished they’d legalize here already ! Mites, PM and Mold with the phed Kangen water . These units aren’t cheap how many are you running? Will the kangen water work with nutrients?

What is Kangen water? Is it something you made?
Far from it... outside of my smarts. I think they started making ionized water machines in the 90's. Kangen is just a brand name... there are other brands. I like kangen though... it's easy and effective.
Kangen brand is recognized and used world wide, and available from independent distributers. Once you buy them, you get an ID from the company and can help sell them,,, only if you desire.

From my understanding on how the machine works, you plug it into a normal electrical outlet and plumb your water hose into the inlet. From there, the titanium plates inside the machine puts the water through an electrolysis process as the water passes through and adjusts the ph. The output always gives you two different PH's. If you are requesting 2.5ph water from the machine, the secondary outlet will release 11.5 ph as a bi product. And then you can use both to spray. If you request 9.5ph from the machine, I believe the secondary output is then 6.0 ph. Something to do with the extreme ph's of the 2.5 and the 11.5 requires an additional input... table salt and water mixed into salt water and added to a reservoir tank on the machine. One small tank of salt water produces a few hundred gallons of extreme ph water. the 6.0-9.5ph doesn't use any of the salt water input, just the electrolysis process.

Thanks :) We have a smaller unit for household use to make drinking water and household cleaners with the 2.5 and 11.5. You can mix the two extreme PH's to create super effective hospital grade cleaner.
For the farm we have one large/commercial unit. It does the job for the big farm... we start filling up a few pickle barrels with the 2.5 and 11.5 a few hours before we need to spray. The majority of the people would never need several barrels full and can make what they need to spray the garden in 10-20 minutes run time on the machine.

And I don't know how the kangen works with bottled nutes... I'm not familiar with using nutes like that. I know nutes adjust the ph of water, so same would happen if nutes added to ph water. Probably like mixing neem oil with 11.5... you may have a nice mix of neem spray with no water/oil separation but I'm sure the ph is not 11.5 any more.
The machine comes with ph test strips and test fluid to test the ph of the outputs.

I'll add to that, a special on the sister Bed 24, the 50 Hawaiian Fanta plants

Just a couple nutrients adjust the ph , I’m in hydro dwc and flood&drain I have the crazy ants that bring the mites . Need to put your store in your signature so I can do some one stop shopping ! So what’s the price on the kitchen Kangen?

This link should take you to all the machine options.

The K8 is the household version I use in the kitchen

The 501 is the one I use in the garden... faster output of PH waters

To just look or make a purchase? The site should let you just look... but to make a purchase you need to use a distributer for the first purchase. My lady can take over and help you make the purchase at that point. Just send me a PM.

The site does not make you log in to just look at the enagic store. You can try visiting Enagic.com and then clicking on the link that says 'Visit the Store' if you scroll down.
