Big Foot Scrog In Coco

Hello mate, glad I found your journal. Love the graphic portrayal of the dying fungus gnat, not really about hate but reserve all it for that horrible little insect. Brought a smile to my face thinking of them dying the slow and painful death you so beautifully described ;)

How's your heat spot going?
Thanks for coming!.. Ya I don't hate them, but I don't mind seeing them exterminated either!! Hopefully it's quick and painless lol mostly concerned about the quick part
Oh the bright spot is just annoying more than anything, I have plenty of height so it's not hurting anything. I can slide my light from side to side on the hanger bar so I do that now and then to help even it out.

I'm happy for you mate, it looks like you're doing a ridiculously good job with that oak tree you're growing ;)

What is it mate?
The strain? It's called Big Foot, from Sweet Seeds.. Don't know much about it honestly but I am liking it so far!

Haha there's been a few sightings of Big Foot, Just spoke about it in another thread with someone. Looks bloody tasty!

How long have you got left?

Oh really? Cool! I could find practically nothing about it when I bought the seeds other than the write up from the breeder.. It's got a very sweet and tingly smell, reminds me of bazooka Joe bubble gum don't know if you have that over there? It's like the cheap pink old school gum kind of like came in baseball cards etc..
Not sure how much longer, this is only day 40 of 12/12 I think. I'd guess close to another month unless things speed up soon.

Haha I've only had the pleasure of a genuine bubble gum bud about fifteen years ago. Everything else is sprayed s***.

Had a banging bit of Candy Kush that got over from Dam. Closest that's come to it but you lot have the flavours down over there. Honestly, people here have a choice of lemon haze or lemon sour diesel (both the same bud, Just grown marginally s****** than the other)

Except for my corner of Narnia where we got some of them fruity flavours occurring ;)

I hope the smell stays after the dry/cure! No additives here, just using base nutrients only.. Ya there's tons of cannabis around here, lots of online dispensaries with pretty big selection of strains, I could and have had some incredible bud and hash delivered right to the door lol.

Got the gnats knocked down considerably. I think I caught it just in time there was actually a few hundred on the sticky traps at lights on today but only seeing the occasional one flying or crawling around now..Hopefully the BTi is taking care of any larvae and I am good to go.
Going to start watering twice a day as much as possible, these girls are thirsty as hell. I wonder if that's not the cause of the slight nute burn, the coco getting too dry and /or not enough runoff. .. My ppm meter should be here Monday so that will be helpful hopefully.

Knock down your nutes about 1/3 and start feeding twice a day then 3 times a day. 1/2 hour after lights on, 4 hours after that and again in 4 hours. Nothing too close to lights out

Hey there ya I cut them way down like a week ago when I first saw the burned tips.. I can only do twice a day since lights are on 6pm til 6am, and I'm not getting up in the middle of the night for it lol twice will have to be sufficient... Ya I always water just after lights on so I can wait for the runoff and clean it up etc..

Hi PE glad to hear you got the nats under control plants are lookin great. I think I need to do more defol today rather than wait another week
my plants are so bushy and not much light is getting to the lower buds. The defol you've done doesn't seem to of slowed your girls down any
have you done any defol after 21 days in flower?

Thanks still a few gnats around but nothing serious, might try the hydrogen peroxide trick in a few days if they are still there, also realized I have a bag of perlite I could put on top....
Ya I would say it would be a good idea to get rid of some of your bigger leaves.. Most of my defoliation was done by around 21 days but I do occasionally snip a few if it's looking crowded. Doesn't seem to bother them if they are healthy to begin with.

Well those pix aren't very clear but there are 3 yellow and 1 clear trap on the walls just above the canopy as they seemed to be landing in that area.. Then there is about 8 scattered around the floor area and 2 more, cut into 4 pieces for on top of the coco.
Guess I will make this a brief update..
Caught a hundred or so more gnats over night. But now I only saw two while watering and fiddling around for 15 minutes just after lights on. So that is hopeful. I had top dressed the coco with a good bit of crushed up mosquito dunk so they should hopefully be getting dosed daily. I worry how much damage they did/are doing but the plants seem to be ok..
Girl 2 who started as the runt, on the left seemed to have the gnats worse probably because it is farthest from the intake and fan thus staying wetter.. She is also growing the bigger buds compared to her sister and I am seeing a few pistils just starting to darken on her, looking pretty good..
Girl 1 was a little heavy on the nitrogen I do believe so her buds aren't quite as big or mature, have cut her N way back and we will see if she can make up for it.
Seems like things are awfully crowed, definitely need better spacing or a way better light. Or both haha. Not that the hps is awful but it's not ideal for the tent space... I am actually tempted to just cut out a few of the lesser colas, but that seems like throwing weed away..
I might end up doing a partial harvest of upper buds and leave the lower half for another week to see what happens.. See what the trichs say when the time comes.
Sorry no plant pix tonight had to hurry to take in firewood before some snow /rain arrives!

Not much to report, buds are growing slowly but surely.. Doesn't look like I caught very many gnats in the last 24 hours so that is a good sign. I really don't like the idea of bugs in my weed so I plan to let the top inch or so dry another 12 hours then will dose them with the hydrogen peroxide I picked up today...
