Beauty vs. Brawn - A Multi Strain Multi Sponsor Grow Off For Bragging Rights

I know I need to get a better grasp on the seedling stage. Even weighing the cups, I manage to either over or underwater every time.
I’d like to drop seeds in for a soak tonight and get em in cups Sunday but, I need to look closely at the timeline. I have to have the banana girls harvested by the time these dirty birds need the pot. I really don’t have time to build two more of my sip pots.
Olddog, this time I followed Gee64's advice and made my soil moist enough to squeeze a single drop of water out of it in a fist. I kept my solos in baggies to act as a humidity dome, and when the babies had surfaced, I took the baggies off and have been misting the surface of the pot as it dries. The misting is getting heavier now, around the edges of the solos. I squirt against the sides rather than directly at the soil, so that the water can run down the inside of the pot to the root zone and encourage lateral root growth. Gee man certainly knows what he's doing and this worked well for me germinating in the pot.
Hi Carmen.

Still having vision problems so I only have one grow journal here, my Purple Ghost Candy lady.

I'm also growing the following, hempy-style:
  • 2 CB Dutch Treat
  • 1 Carnival
  • 1 Jack Herer
  • 1 Moby Dick
  • 1 Raspberry Cough
Thanks for asking.
I'm glad to hear you are growing. I wish I could see your hempy-style plants. I hope your eyes are getting better! I'm sorry you are having such issues.

Just a little catch up on day 9 from sprout. They are looking happy enough so I am happy with the mix in the medium. I think I may mix up some more and fill in the tops of the pots to stabilize the stems which are a little long.

Looking great miss Ray ☺️.

When do you usually transplant? I usually bury tall girls to the neck during transplanting to combat the sprout stretch.

Thank you Happy. I transplant between two and three weeks of age. I've buried these properly in the pots they are in. This should help.

@Olddog Newtrick - if I may, here’s a hint that helps me. So up comes your sprout. At first you are barely watering, that’s easy. Once it starts to have leaves though, what I do is dig a small trough, or moat, in a circle around the plant. The circles is as wide as the outer tip of the largest leaf. Then I just water into that most. It will target the water and help the roots get wide faster. As the plant gets bigger I widen the moat accordingly. I never water inside the circle.

It sounds like silly overkill, I know, but even on the small scale of a Solo cup, if you use this as the “model” to draw roots wider it really helps. Least for me. FWIW!

Are you following me?
She's a cutie, hope she acclimates to the light for you without any probs.
I expected to have a gnat problem on the indoor grow here, but I saw only one a few weeks ago and that was it. Nothing on the sticky trap at all, except a couple of my hairs when I got too close to the damned thing. :laughtwo:
I've managed to catch myself in them traps a few times this week already...biggest damn bug in the room. 🫠Fucksake.

Hahaha nope she is fairly dead center  had me run upstairs just now to see if it was off center 😂

But my goal is to top her twice once at 3rd node and once again at second node on the split. Then spread her as far and wide as I can get her.....this is the plan at least 😆 it's an auto so it could decide to flower tomorrow.

What's the name of the last strain you smoked.... I want to have imaginary conversations with a character from a child hood memory too?!? the closest I get to an imaginary friend is myself when I'm driving and trying to explain to.....myself.... Why other drivers suck 😂
Hahaha 🤣 "made you look!" 👌🏻

DAY 10 Milky Way F1 auto.

Good Monday morning everyone. Hope the weekend was good and today has started off well. I took the day off due to working 19 straight days in a row... Figured a day off was needed 😁.

Alright we're on day 10 of little milky ways journey.... And so far I'm pretty impressed! Shes growing very quick and her node spacing is super tight 🤌🤌. At this rate I'll be topping her for the first time this week as soon as she has a fourth node. My goal is to top twice and then do as much training as I can before flowering starts which can be 2-3 weeks from now. I'll continue some LST through flowering though just to allow proper light penetration and air flow.

She seems to have taken a liking to the light intensity increased and the distance change... So we'll rock out here until she tells me she needs an adjustment. The light @ViparSpectra 100W P1000 is sitting 12" above plant and at %50 intensity.

No food has been given yet as the soil (Fix Farms Ocean Forest) is good for about 12-14 days. Will give her the first feeding of just under half a cup of @GeoFlora Nutrients Veg nutrients Wednesday or Thursday with next watering.

Temperatures have remained fairly stable, staying between 75-80F / 23.8-26.6C. And humidity has remained consistent as well ranging between 55% and 60%.

No pests, no issues, no concerns 😁👌

Well, I kicked the can down the road again this weekend. Im nervous about the timeline.
I need to know my bananas will be done and down by the time these girls need to go into veg.
I saw @Lady Cannafan getting some color on the pistils this week and I’m a week behind her so, if mine show the same coloration by the end of this week, I’m gonna take that as the sign to go ahead and drop em.
I know I can top and train to gain more time in veg if needed once I get there but, i need to get there first.
Worst case scenario, I’ll have to build a couple more sip pots. Which I really don’t want to do.
That all said, my goal is to get em wet this weekend.

We're here, and not going anywhere.

I am just now doing some macro shots of the trichomes on one of the Banana Jealousy girls, her buds look much farther along than the other five. We'll see what I get.
Been a bad Monday morning all the way around, I could use the good news....any good news...a joke....a laugh....LOL

What did the frog say when he passed the bong to his frog friend? Rippit.

What do you get when you mix laxatives and weed? Shits and giggles

DAY 12 MILKY WAY F1 AUTO.

Good afternoon everyone and Happy hump day .....whoooop whoop * 🎶whooaaa oh, were half way there🎶 😅 sorry three days I get an actual day off.....so a bit excited.

Ok enough goofing off!

Little milky way is moving along so nice. The amount of growth in just a short time is probably the fastest I've seen since growing personally. I did reread through the genetic information and it does say " rapid grow times"... So they are spot on there 😅👍. So since she is growing so quick I realized light coloring..... I watered in the rest of the first feeding to try to alleviate the light color.....and I was right, she was a little hungry.
IMG_20240612_152427589_HDR.jpg

Nothing else has been done as of now. Later this week I should be able to top for the first time at the 4th node. Ill need to work a little quick with the training and everything since rapid future growth is expected.

•Temperature - 75° f - 23.8°c

•Humidity - 50%

•Light - @ViparSpectra P1000 100w @ 50% 12" from canopy. 18/6 schedule.

•Nutrients - geoflora Veg

•Deficiencies - lack of nutrients remedied with an additional small amount of nutrients watered in. Will watch to see if a liquid nutrient needs to be added for a more immediate response. No other deficiencies or pests.

That wraps up this update ✌️👽✌️
