Beateo's - Soil - Lemon Kush Feminized - 2014 - 1st Attempt

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

Finally... an update. First, I want to apologize to anyone who has been following my journal. I haven't posted any update for a bit. I've been suffering from an illness and am just now recovering enough to sit for a bit. I have briefly looked at some of the things I'm subbed to but quickly would become weak. Anyway... much better now. My clones all died of neglect during my illness. I did make it up to water/feed my girls enough to keep them alive. Here are some pictures from this morning starting with the Lemon Kush... These pictures are taken from directly above:

And lastly, One I've come to both love and be amused by... My Gifted Wild Child, Totally out of control!! :)

Hi Beato! Great journal - and thank you for sharing!!
:thanks:

I haven't caught up on everything yet but I realized upon scanning your journal that you are growing an auto strain! Your plants are looking great! Looks like we started ours pretty closely. I started from seed the end of August and its about day 79ish. I'm looking forward to following your journal - as well as others that are also growing auto that have commented here. Like a jackpot for me!

What light cycles have you used during your grow so far (if you don't mind me asking to get a quick summary)? I've had good results with my auto strain although the lighting cycle(s) during the latter half (basically started about 25 days ago for me) of the gro and through to finish have been tricky. I'm wondering if it is just my auto strain being finicky or if others have experienced this as well. Once my plants express sex and I'm running 24 hrs of light under a 400W HPS they just sit there for weeks and I've been going back and forth with all kinds of combinations over the years and haven't hit it. This time I went from 24 hrs to 18/6 and nothing much more happened for more than 10 days, so then I went to 12/12 and w/in 24 hrs WHam huge flower onset. After about 10 days of that the plants creeped to a halt and nothing for another week + so in my impatience (lol) I went back to 18/6 to see what would happen and WHam again and they've been going strong since. Will be interested to hear yours and others experience(s) with the light cycle. Thanks again for sharing Beato! Cheers
:blunt:

colorfuldayze, :thanks: for following my journal! :) I really hope it can help you out. I started my plants on 18/6 lighting and then after 2 months of veg, just recently switched over to 12/12 for the flowering. Not that I ever try to start controversy... but I believe our understanding of what is an "auto strain" may differ? None of my seeds were auto flowering. They are all "feminized" but only will flower when put on the 12/12 light schedule. An auto flowering plant will flower when it's supposed to flower regardless of what light schedule you use. (At least that is my understanding of it)?? I hope some of our experts will correct me if I'm wrong? I was giving the info by everyone here to expect my girls to grow a lot once I put them in flower, and that has been absolutely true! I'm now raising my lights every two days at least. I'm sure those great people who have been SO much help to me are reading this... I hope they can be of more help to you than I can :) Take care, good luck, and I'll get with you soon! :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

Hmmm....hey B, hope you are feeling better. Somehow I also got the impression that you were growing autos. Wonder where that came from? Funny how an old brain just decides what it wants to see and think. Anyway, the girls are looking good. Glad to see that both you and they survived another one.

too old, Thanks for the well wishes! At my age I have to consider that maybe I said they were autos in some post??? Hey, I write this stuff... doesn't mean I read it! LOL :peace:

I may have found the confusion... I went back and looked at some of my old stuff and found where I posted a question about the seeds I still have in cold storage.... they're AK-49 and they ARE autos. I was asking about the lighting schedule. Lighting seems to be a point of debate/confusion among many of us. :) :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

So tomorrow I switch my girls over to 12/12. I'd like some opinions on starting the AK-49 Auto seeds I have under the 12/12 schedule and keeping it 12/12 until they all finish? I've read where the schedule for autos doesn't matter but tests show that 24-0 from seed to harvest produces smaller yields? :peace:

--too old, this is where we both got derailed in our thinking lol; Beato and devils lettuce were choppin it' about their other autos and plans to grow autos...I think I had also just looked at some lemon Kush auto info on another thread and made my ass-umptions lol.

Nonetheless, great looking plants Beato and congratulations. Looking forward to following along! Glad you are feeling better and sorry about your clones man.

Happy Veterans' Day everyone!! To all who have and continue to serve,

:Namaste: and :thanks:

Looking great Beateo !! Hope you keep up the strength and get better, your gonna need it for a big harvest !!!

Quick question for my "Gurus" :) Is it okay to trim off fan leaves and the stuff low on the plant that will never do anything once the plant is in flower? I'd like to open them up just a bit but at the same time, I don't want to add more weeks to harvest. (I know I could and probably should, have done this two weeks ago) Thanks! :peace:

Here's another one: This FREAKS me out. I follow some people and they go along growing, posting, being a part of us... and then WHAM!, they're just gone. Silent, no more posts, pictures, updates.... I start thinking... man, I wonder if they got busted and are in jail?
Am I just paranoid? Well, okay, I'm always paranoid... but is it real this time?? LOL :peace:

or maybe they just dont feel safe anymore, posting on forums of this kind :)

hey B

take u some more clones from the flowering plants . they will still root but it will just take a little longer .get them free plants !! i few of my everyday friends have disappeared also . i hope everything is ok with them . people do get burnt out ,hell ive been burnt out for the last month but im slowly hitting the threads again . i usually post pics weekly but i have been neglecting my own damn journal .

Hey B - there's a good article here somewhere from Medical Marijuana explaining mysterious disappearances. I think it's in the FAQ. Good read. Also, pretty sure you can pick the lower leaves, just not too many at a time. Pretty safe to open her up, just not to stress.

Colorful - you're probably right. My problem is my one track mind. Everything's fine 'til the damn train jumps the track.

I'll try to find that....and thanks for the leaf info! :peace:

These first 3 pix are of my Lemon Kush after I trimmed. I hope I didn't cut too much off and delay the bud production. :)

The next 2 are of my Gifted Wild Child and instead of worrying about why this plant looks so spindly and different, I just decided to have fun with her and learn all I can from her.

The following are just some general photos of my grow space and maybe give an idea of my overall set-up.... I believe the first picture is of the MOST IMPORTANT piece of equipment any of us should have!!!
