Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

This is being posted to give a new grower an idea how simple a light set-up can be! :peace: Hope this helps JS!

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

this is very ghetto and i like it :D
poly, lol... yeah, I was going for Ghetto. :) It's actually 1500 total watts of light as cheap as I could do it. I mixed up bulbs half 2700K and half 6500K. Really can't see that.... my grow room is BLINDING bright but that doesn't show in the photo for some reason. :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

It's been 7 weeks since my girls popped their first leaves out into the world. I have an observation about the light frame I built.... For my next grow, each plant will have an individual light set-up. I designed what I'm now using to accommodate 4 plants and it would if the 4 plants all grew at the same rate.... but they don't! I have the one I call "gifted wild child" in a 5 gallon bucket on the floor. She is a full foot taller than the other 3 I started from seed. Also, the Lemon Kush & Haze plants are growing a little faster than the Skunk so I either have to put something under the skunk pot to raise it up, or have the frame hung crooked so it's lower on the skunk plant than on the other 2. It's a compromise because of cost... one I will not make for my next grow! Ok... now for today's pics:
These first 2 are for Poly... mo' ghetto!! lol This is the lighting on my "gifted wild child".

This one is the Critical Haze and Lemon Kush playing nice together: :)

And all 3 of my girls started from seed:

Take notice on the top 2 photos... that plant has a total of 500W equivalent CFLs on it but I'm still seeing bottom leaves looking rough.
The 3 plants together under the frame I made have a total of 1500W on them. There are 2x 200W bulbs on each plant and that vertical lighting has 3x 100W. Temperatures have been between 80 & 82F during lighting and going down to about 71F during lights out. Still on the 18/6 for now. Next week I think I'm going to switch to 12/12. Water ph has been right at 6.5 and I've been using nutes at full strength for the last week. Oh... BIG BIG Achievement.... I got my wife to smoke with me last night!! First time she's ever done it and she has had chronic back pain and sleeping problems for MANY YEARS... it helped her a lot! Plus, she had a blast laughing at stupid shit! lol :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

those girls look good . your height issue is exactly what i was going thru .. i was hurting one plant just to get the other girls proper light! are u going to flush them before u flip ? its not mandatory but i do it to help in transition into flower .i suppose its trying to get any built up salts and (N) out..

I planned to flush them next week and put them right into 12/12. I just read recently the amount of water needed to flush is "X times the size of the container".. but I just can't remember the number! lol I'm still hesitant to put them in flower.... I'm not sure I've done everything I need to do first?? Do I need to get rid of any of the bottom branches? Is there anything else? Things have gone so good up until this point with my "minimum messin' with the plant" that I'm worried I'll screw it up somehow! :) Oh well.. nothing ventured, nothing gained.. right! :peace:

don't be scared .. i know the feeling .do like i did grow u a plant that is just for learning . i had no expectations for my Hawaiian skunk ..she was a reg seed so i tried all kinds of techniques on her and learned fast that if u have the ph and nutes right she will recover . i think the flush is 3x the pot size then let them dry out real good. i stripped all my bottom branches off so she would focus on the stretch of the top of the plant .

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

Here is my first try at taking some clones. I took 4 from the Critical Haze and 4 from the Lemon Kush. I didn't take any from the skunk or my "gifted wild child" because I have no idea whether they're male or female. Please... if anyone sees anything at all that I did wrong... let me know...be blunt I'm not sensitive :) :peace:

And... I guess that's enough pictures to tell whether I messed up or not? :) :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

I forgot to add.... I cut each one with a razor on a 45 deg. angle, split the very end and then gently scraped the outside layer off, put it in water then dipped it in aspirin, put each one in the soil, pressed it pretty tight and then sprayed a bunch of water on it. The water was Ph adjusted, the razor blade was disinfected with iso alcohol between cuttings. I can't think of anything else to tell you. :peace:

Sounds perfect to me my main, just keep them at a high temperature and a high humidity.

But, the reason your lower leaves seem to be becoming chlortic and saggy is due to low light. CFL's have a high output for a small area, but the quality diminishes quickly. Try placing a bulb or two more towards the lower portion of the plant, that may help, as in one of your pictures above there is a major dark area on the plant. Maybe try obtaining a T5 bulb setup and use CFL's to hit the dark spots. Or, hitup TOPLED and pickup one of their cheaper LED fixtures, and supplement with CFLs, that's what I do! Good luck my friend, and beautiful Haze, she's looking sexy.

Clones - trim those leaves, taking appx 40% off each blade. You want the clones to concentrate on making roots, not growing.

Regor..... thanks. I've never heard that or read that anywhere.... and I went through the whole cloning tutorial that's posted here! I will do that immediately! :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

he's right . i forgot to say anything .. it helps the plants not wilt since they are not supporting those big leaves with water. also when u start to see new full leaves u know u have new growth .

u can see the cut leaves on my clones in this pic. see hoe easy it is to see the new growth !! and i foliar feed them 2 times a day .

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

Just wanted to say that for some reason, my girls are growing like crazy now?? I'm having to raise the lights every day! I can't wait to switch over to 12/12. :) :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

So tomorrow I switch my girls over to 12/12. I'd like some opinions on starting the AK-49 Auto seeds I have under the 12/12 schedule and keeping it 12/12 until they all finish? I've read where the schedule for autos doesn't matter but tests show that 24-0 from seed to harvest produces smaller yields? :peace:

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

Hey Beateo - been lurking for awhile. There is a very good discussion on autoflowering light schedules in: The Grow Room/Grower's Forums/Seeds, Clones and Strains/AutoFlowering.

Much debate and opinion on what is what. You'll have to sift through it, but it is good reading.

Nice plants my friend. Can only hope mine turn out as nice.

Re: Beateo's Soil, Lemon Kush Feminized 2014 1st attempt

hey B

this is 21 days for the lemon kush . she was 3$ and shes whoopin the 20$ seeds. i see scrog or flux in her future for massive yields . im hittin her with 1500 ppm feedings with no sign of any nute burn !!!
