BCNL Producer & DIY Cabs 3 Strains

A little more progress today. Moved the 9 ww's and 4 (albeit tentative) euforias to the producer... those are the center 4. Added cal-mag, A&B Grow and voodoo juice per feeding schedule "week 1" then ph'd to 5.8. Before using automatic, I'll be manually watering using the drip system until all plants have well formed roots reaching water.

Dang, looker there.. Sounds like all the dials and levers are set and pulled. That is one fine looking piece of work. Man, that's one heck of a grow.. I'm very curious as to the space limitations per plant though..

Brain farts are very common with me, but are you going straight to flower?

It's all new to me so I'm with you about the space question. Might be just as well that my 1st grow is not to capacity as that should give me a pretty good idea how things fill up. I don't have too much confidence in the euforias as the pump failure really knocked the snot out of those... but I'm not opposed to nice surprises.

No brain fart sisco, it was never mentioned. I'll go to flower as soon as all plants have roots are in the drink. Don't want to push the height issue any more than I already have by growing in a box.

Thanks for hanging in there with my really delayed start.

Cool man, I'm pretty new at this growing too :nomo: I've only begun to scratch the surface.

Delayed starts are all over this site, can't have everything go by the calendar and graphs. Some of my best friends here have had lousy starts and even I...YES, even me..has had not just false starts but endings with no beginning...

OK so there you go. You're stuck with me untill you have no longer any more interest in the HERB.:tokin:

I appreciate the sage wisdom brother. Looks like I'm stuck with you for life as interest in the HERB is one with my pulse.

Endings with no beginnings.:scratchinghead: Perhaps too much vape tonight... I don't get it. It sure is poetic though.:smokin:

Don't stress at all WnF. I'm the "Master" of late starts, false starts, and bad starts but chalk it up to the learning curve. It's a common theme that all growers need to get their grow rooms and styles "dialed in". So in a new room, using new equipment, and/or just being a total noob like me, it will take some time to get it right. Once we get it dialed in, though, it will all go much easier and the harvests will get much bigger & better. :cheertwo:

Amen to that Mr Krip! I'm an underclassman in the school of hard knocks with a major in delays and a minor in horticulture. I am a poster child for newb. Fortunately, a lifetime of chronic use has scarred me with the patience to persevere. In the words of the great Neil Young: "I am a child".

Looking good Weed! I'm so friggin' jealous of that Producer... Super sweet. I think you have a little more height to work with, but I've settled on 8-12" as when I switch to 12/12... but then I'm growing from seed right now, so it's a bit different I suppose. Let the fun begin! :cheertwo:

Thanks for the tip. Hopefully these strains will cooperate with the headroom. If not I'll break out the string. From most accounts I've read, early flowering is the ticket with these boxes.

I appreciate your support xlr8!

Small changes today. While I am noticing a little leaf growth on the ww's I'm also finding that some of their hanging roots have withered. Hopefully new ones will take their place shortly. The air pump is working fine with the 4-12" stones, so the plants should be getting the message from below.
The Euforias still look undecided, although their roots continue to grow slowly. Both strains have minor tip burning in common.

I'm now experiencing what I've read so much about with these machines... heat.
It spiked to 88 but seems to stay at 86 for the most part. The humidity in the room has it's usual swings, 30's-40's, yet the box's interior is 16-22%. The room humidifier seems to have little effect.

If a sudden burst of energy overtakes me later I will duct the two fan-forced outlets from the upper (lamp & ballast housing) portion of the cabinet directly to the room's outlet duct merging them from a "Y". This way, the heat can be evacuated while not prematurely taxing the carbon filter. If the cabinet's fans are not strong enough to vent through my entire duct run I'll install an inline inductor fan to assist. Either way, that should render a kinder environment in the box.

The moms are getting a bit hairy but I've been reluctant to trim them as I'm holding out as long as I can to be certain the producer's crop takes off.

Thanks again to all of you for being so supportive. This place is really like a catharsis for cannabis growers! :Namaste:

I think I've been lucky - mine usually runs about 8-10f over ambient room temperature. It's only 67 or so where I keep my box, so I'm typically in the 74-78 range. 88 is a little high, so I think it would be good if you could find a way to get that lowered. I'm always dealing with low humidity at the start, but they seem to grow just fine even in a fairly low RH.

You could try a clean damp cloth with a fan blowing near it (inside the box) to bring RH up during this early veg. stage. I sneak small fans, dehumidifiers and all kinds of stuff into my box just by tucking the cord through the door gaskets and closing the door over the power cord so to speak. RH% will improve as the plants get a bit older/bigger. Just a couple of thoughts...

Excellent thoughts xlr8... thank you. I figure the RH is low as there is little material for transpiration at this point. Until tomorrow, I put a container of water near the cabinet intake fan for evaporation. Foremost I wanted to get the temp down a few notches. I'll post a pic of that shortly.

You're very fortunate that you don't have temp as a concern. Sounds like your Mothership can do double duty as the perfect space heater.

Cheers!

Interesting ducting - is it helping with the temps? I'm so dumb when it comes to that sort of thing! For some reason, venting and ducting just makes my brain mush, but I'm finally getting the basics, lol. I know it's not that complicated, but I am a slooow learner regarding that stuff.

It looks great - and nice and clean. Hope it helps! :goodluck:
