Bassman59's 1st Grow - DWC/LED - Pray For Me!

Looking good, Bassman! :thumb:

Stretch should slow down, but don't be surprised if they go a little more either. You could use some twisty ties and string to pull the taller stragglers back into line if you need to. Nice and crystally already. :yummy:

Thanks X,

Stretch looks like it's come to a halt. I used some string to bring a hanger off the side more towards ctr. But mostly I've been plucking leaves making room, and squeemishly trying to learn how to bend a few. I would like to bend the big tall bud down so I could get the canopy more even. I'm just too scared I'll break it with such a big thick stalk.

You should be able to just pinch stalk and then it will bend easily just make sure you already have something ready to tie it too for support since its gonna need it.:thumb:

It's my tallest biggest most advanced stalk. I'm skeered! I've totally broken one already (smaller one obviously), and doing what you suggest in small increments till I feel like I have it. Then I may touch that one. Hard part is I cant figure out where the hell to lead it if I do bend it. No matter what direction I go it will cover some bud sites. But it's also so damn tall the rest of the top buds might be ok light wise, but most anything lower wont get diddly unless I can lower the light. I really should have trained it before flower, but it wasnt off by much till it exploded in flower.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm:hmmmm: You seem to have a predicament there. Let me know how it goes. Goodluck:goodluck::cheer:

Bassman59 I highly suggest a beginning to end read of Tulips DWC tutorial in the DWC sub forum. [URL="https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/deep-water-culture-tutorial-sh-kit-diy.111069/" said:

def agree! tulips dwc tutorial is great and highly detailed...:peace:

It's a great read for newby dwc players. And even newby growers as long as you supplement that with a lot of general growing information of our plant.

There are a few things I have changed obviously. Chiller being an example. Nutrients as well. But I referred to it many times in my first 3-4 weeks.

Update:

day 30 in flower.

Res changed today, everything looks good. I've been pulling fan leaves that hide bud sites nearly every day. I should probably back off and let them go a bit then do more at once so there is a shot of stress rather than prolonged no?

Nothing much to say really. They seem to be just doing their thing.

Pics are not the best today but maybe mid week I can do some better ones.

Just some random pics today, Everything seems good. But a semi-daily dose of teen bud porn should be in order anyways.

ya baby!

Ok, not sure about this and it has me slightly disturbed. These spots I see on some leaves.

Now it looks like it's only on the leaves closest to the LED light. I just need confirmation and a decision on raising the light. I hate to raise it as it would be bad for the rest of the main canopy. But is it possible to train such big stems at this point? Is it advisable even?

Is the cause from the light? That's what I really need to find out.

Edit: I had to use my hand to shade the LED to see them and the camera to get the pics.

I don't think that is from the lights, do you see it on any of the other plants? Is it only on the top leaves or is it elsewhere too? I'll have to take a look through my reference books to pin-point it, but it looks like a def in one of the immobile nutrients, but defs are not common in hydro. What is your pH PPM and temp? Also, when is the last time you changed nutes? Any new additives, or any thing not put in that is normally used?. Also, have you checked for bugs?

I will get back to you on this since I am not near my books at the moment. I try not to give advice without knowing with some certainty what I am talking about.

EDIT: My initial instinct is to say it's a Calcium def, are you adding Cal/mag to your water?

It's only on the leaves closest to the light. Which is pretty close because of the stretch of that one plant. I see no signs on lower leaves. It's mainly just those getting the most intense light coverage.

I think it's just 2 plants, maybe slight on 1-2 others near center light intensity and top leaves only.

I have had a few ph spikes the last week of 6.4-6.7. For the most part it's been pretty constant in the 6.1-6.2 area and hasnt wanted to get below that.

PPM has been around the 1250-1450 range.

Nutes changed 4 days ago. I change them every week. But have been running at about 85% schedule. When I added 2 gals (about 13.5 gals in circulation) this week I did go a bit stronger on the Ginormous bloom-bud enhancer but not by much.

I havent seen any bugs. I have been looking occasionally and more today of course, but I don't see anything.

Mind you, these spots are VERY tiny and hard to see. You have to put a light behind the leave and shade your eyes to see them.

Edit: yes I am adding cal-mag to the ro water

The absolute closest ones are 10" or so. That one damn top just has huge stretch over the rest of the canopy. The rest of the canopy is about 14-19" range. Pretty big difference.

I'll pound the ph down some more and see what happens.
