Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

I'm good GG! Do you have some rain then? It's cloudy down this way but it's still baking hot and not a spot of drizzle yet. I'm apparently in charge of the kids today lol. Chaos! I'll be getting in the garden for some pics and to finish transplanting those veg plants soon. The boss has been ill over the last few days so she's using the weekend to catch up on rest. It's one week left before I chop the OS and GZ so I can't wait to go and see what they're like now. I haven't seen them since yesterday morning so I'm excited. Looks like there'll only be one more watering before the end so I have that harvesting feeling starting to build. It's like the build up to Christmas but with less stress lol. One of the perks that only growers will understand. How are you today buddy?
I am all good mate. been a busy one here , blow outs with MIL imminent. lol Been hiding in the grow room being busy lol. I fly solo with the girls all week so weekend i get a bit of a break as lots of us around at weekend !!!. lol
I am loving this grow of yours and cannot wait to see the end result too. itchy sphincter here too. lol
I couldnt resist fiddling and removing a little rubbish from the girls , a week into stretch so i am being gentle . Pog and os are flying and 1 of the Gz is a star. wont photobomb the thread but heres a couple. So impressed with these girls.

Veg Tent Update!....

Well it's taken me most of the day to do this @Ganjagrandaddy lol....
ORG_DSC03078.JPG

I've managed to transplant one of the Blue Gelato 41's. I'll do another shortly. It all depends on what my youngest will allow me to do lol. Every time I get into the grow room I hear her start to cry and have to put down what I've only just picked up....
ORG_DSC03081.JPG

The soil and sand mix hold a lot of water well. My concern has gone from being the pots not holding enough water to them holding too much. I think they'll be ok though. Famous last words!....
ORG_DSC03082.JPG

All of these need a watering and a good feed. I allowed their pots to dry out for the transplant which is why the BG41's are so droopy. Here's the other one....
ORG_DSC03080.JPG

The Strawberry Lemonade's are both hungry ladies and although they started off drinking less than the BG41's they now have their pots topped up more often and they need stronger feeds also. I haven't seen any thrips on any of them for some time now and all the new growth is unaffected. I am expecting them to return at some point but for now things are good....

Phantom OG....

It's flowering day 41 for this one. She's doing great still and continues to grow with no real problems. She has a good, easy to manage structure and is easy to defoliate. The light is getting to most places with ease so we should have some decent lower growth to look forward to. She's getting a healthy layer of frost to her and there are hairs turning orange on many of her buds. I think she'll finish up before week 10 going by how she looks now. She's starting to bend down under her own weight so it's time to stake her soon....

Gorilla Zkittles....

7 days until I pull this tent. Obviously if I'm not happy with them I'll let them go a little longer but it looks like they'll be good to go. It's flowering day 55 today for the GZ and the OS. I've tried to take the pics in low lighting to show of the colours in the buds a bit better but the camera doesn't like low lighting for some reason. These aren't the best pics but you get an idea what they're really like. The frost is still stacking up on the GZ and she's living up to certainly the Glue parentage. I've not done a Zkittles before but I've read that it's also very sticky. Here she is a week before we pull the snips out....

Orange Sherbert....

This one is also one week away. I'd say that she's ahead of the GZ slightly. She's slowly fading and going darker. Her leaves are getting worse by the day but like I said before. I'm not too concerned and it's too late to be worrying about making nutrient adjustments to try and stabilise her. Her bud is rock hard and has some ambers in amongst the mostly cloudy trichs. She doesn't quite have the same amount of frost as the GZ but it's not bad. Her scent is very fruity and she very sticky. You only have to look at her side of the tent and see all the hairs and grease where her buds are touching the walls to know that she's going to be gooey. Looks like she'll be fairly straightforward to trim but that remains to be seen. Won't be long though until we find out....

excellent updates prof. They all look amazing. loving the babies and their stoutness already.
It seems to have flown to your harvest time. hoping my next 2 months fly !!!!!!. Sticky is a serious plus. love GG and its gritty feel too so Gz mix will be so rollable. Looks like you used what little time you had well today. Had some similar here too. In synch mate ( and i dont mean your fave band from your youth !) had to chuck a couple more up for you of the Os as i missed her out before due to not finishing in time. she is following suit and going large for a quadline. loving her potential.
couldnt resist a tiny little clean up at 8 days transition. they needed the airflow!

Just think of the GZ scissor hash mate.
I'm not dreading this trim session like I often do. The scissors are going to be ruined Lew. SPAM day came and went and I received no new ones as a present so I'll have to think about getting another pair. This is the third pair so I'm getting about 2 years or so out of them which isn't bad for just over a fiver. I am looking forward to a cheeky hash sampling though

the shrubberies are nearly presentable GG. They've been great fun to grow and now that it's coming to an end I think I'll miss these 2. The next round better be as exciting lol. I did manage to get the rest of the plants transplanted sometime around 3am lol. I thought about doing an update but I had triple vision and it was hard enough trying to concentrate on nit damaging any of the veg plants with my clumsiness lol. Those new lights are doing wonders for your garden. You are as well of course. It's not all about lighting lol. Excellent job GG. I'll put the pics of the new veg tent up in a short while. It looks a bit cramped in there now lol
Good lord that GZ is frosty AF!! Looking forward to chop day. I still love POG the most tho. ps - POG is another very popular item in Hawaii. I think of it every time I read your journal. :laughtwo:
Lol! The GZ is the Spiced Hammiest of them all! Hang in a second, what is POG? I'm off to google and will be back by the next sentence!....I'm back! Passion fruit-Orange-Guava. Nicely. That does sound good. Thanks HH

Veg Tent Update....

I've managed to transplant the 4 veg plants! Now we wait and see. They'll either be good or they won't lol. They have a bit of transplant shock which I don't usually get so I'll hold of on the topping until they get their mojo back. I've given them a higher dose of nutes using the Canna Vega but I'll be going back to MegaCrop for the next watering. With these 4 I'm going to try to keep the nutes closer to the normal recommended levels and not go nuts like I did with the previous 3. Hopefully I'll catch this deficiency early and not have to hack up and remove too many leaves early in there growth. I'd like these to be more natural....

I have to agree with the missing thing mate. We have all watched them grow up from little girls , now they are going to die spinsters and not even as much as a sniff of using those beautiful reproductive organs. Worse than Nuns , at least they had candles in their cells !. ( ooooops "Candles out Ladies !"......sluuuuurp....)
def going to hell now .
Watching you ace these girls has been an education mate. Love this thread. Has a great community going on here too. Wish i had more time to keep up though. was a piece of piss when i had tiny girls and dying hulkberries.lol
The "New forest" is keeping me active and constantly flittish with imagined upcoming issues too. lol
Seeing the capabilities of the lights is a shock mate. I swore by hps for years and had no intention of going Led until i saw some of the grows you and others on the thread had going with them. Seeing Dutchman1990 's recent seedlings fly past mine for growth finally did it. Got a ppi payment back so bit the bullet with a massive saving from Sara on 2. so glad now . I am feeling like a newbie tbh , the penetration of them is an unknown to me at this point but seeing how inefficient i had been using my old rig , i expect this to be better too. have them about 18" and they give a decent light spread at that and catch the edges ok. I got shadow with the Hps too so just a matter of how much real usable light they give at the edges.Looking at the reviews and par test vids , they dont seem to lose too much. Fingers crossed. Am due an update to the journal now . having so many is making me kick myself now. lol , not to mention having individual diaries for the strains elsewhere too. Chewing so much has me regretting biting so much off !!. lol

Thanks GG! Your words are always mostly so kind lol. These are going to make for some great nug porn! Both plants are getting a nice dark fade to them now. I'm interested in how the OS has performed down below the canopy. Shed was asking about translocation in his thread yesterday and I'd never heard of it. It suggests that you don't need to thin out plants as much as light doesn't need to penetrate plants fully in order to grow decent lower buds. I want see if the os has decent lowers as she's got a pretty dense upper canopy. Know what you mean about having no time. Some days it feels like I don't stop. The kids are both ill today as well so it's been a not so relaxing weekend lol. Now I have to take the eldest and least ill child to the park to give the others a chance at a rest. Back soon

Sounds tiring and always worrying when kids are sick. hope nothing serious mate and they bounce back quickly. Amaze me how quickly they deal with illnesses and general cuts and bruises too. i take weeks to heal a paper cut and they regrow a new left leg in a day. lol. fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for them.

I totally get the no stripping thing and when ypu look at most grows , the leaf still comes back to a point and i do wonder about forcing the. to regrow new leaf and spend all that flowering time sharing resources with a basic wnergy hungry vegging activity. I could try it on one of the girls maybe. ? Side by side Gz maybe. There are two that look very similar on the pheno and grow size side of things. Lights are evenly distibuted , coco , same nutes and additives , same temp,rh and love.

There ok. It's just one of those viruses that go around. Now that they've all had it I'm expecting to feel the effects any time. It'll probably wait until tomorrow morning when I have to go to work lol

Veg Tent Update....

Hey 420! And thanks @N420. We've got flash pics today as I only just made it to the tent before lights out. The veg tent has had some events worth documenting. Firstly I've topped them. I said I'd wait until they got there mojo back and I decided that they looked good enough to me. There was immediate change once they were transplanted into the new pots and less than 24 hours later new, healthy growth has appeared. The BG's are still a little droopy but they perk up in the middle of the day only to look a little tired come lights out. I've removed the lowest growth on all also just to keep them tidy. They all look better than they did I before the transplant so happy days. The next thing I'd like to talk about is the sand heavy mix. I may have already stumbled across the first problem. I decided to add a small amount of feed to bump up the nutrient levels because I forgot to do it when I flushed them so the pots just had Plain PH'd water run through them. When I added 1ltr of water to each pot there was a lot of run off. I didint know if any of the water stayed in the pot at all. The pots are still saturated with water from the flush so I'm hoping that it was just that they were already full rather than the pots not having enough water retention. I'm going to let them dry out considerably more before I try and feed them again. It's going to be interesting seeing how this one pans out. And lastly when I opened the tent earlier to check on them the first thing I saw when my eyes adjusted to the light was a thrip scuttle across a leaf on the SL2. The plants have been sprayed. I've also noticed some damage on the other plants but still can't find any actual thrips anywhere. They really are tough little things. I'd probably admire them if they weren't eating my sacred herb lol. Anyway that's all from the veg tent. Here we are today....
