Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

Gotta give Barneys credit, they got great strong genetics, NEVER had a prob, never had a bean not germinate, ever, not even after 5yrs in the fridge.
You can buy your seeds from a trusted seedbank but its always down to Genetics. They just do it real well.
Enjoy your,new,strains mate.
Have to agree 100%. I am a big fan too. Have played with other genetics but so far I haven't found anything to spread my loyalty further yet. Would love to try seed making to keep a supply but even their prices make that impractical. I fell onto using them from a freebie of Red Diesel. It spanked my expectations and all the other genetics I bought by a mile. I got gifted some seeds by their rep for my last crop and they took a real beating from my transition to rdwc and errors, yet produced beautiful buds despite a faulty hps. I am excited by the strains I chose this time and seeing Profs amazing results so far are tease.lol I just needed an excuse to bin off my current RQS letdown. Happy days. Thanks and happy harvests

What strain from RQS didn’t you like? I’ve read a ton of good reviews about RQS and my Purple Queen is from them! All 3x PQ seeds sunk and split open in less than 18hrs!

I bought 3 hulkberry and got my critical freebie , only one germed properly and the second near success grew an inch and died ,one didn't do a thing. I contacted them a.d they replaced the seeds and were good about it. Replacements didn't germ at all ?????. Gave up. The one I harvested ( in last grow) grew tall but produced sod all yield for its size
Did assume.e i had been svrewing up but seeing other hulk grows confirmed very similar experiences for many others too. Looked so promising too
Hoping the clones restore my faith maybe.

Humboldt seed organization a Dinafem are pretty decent , they are all I used mainly because it’s all my local grow shop sells. But I have had good experience with growing them. Have you tried that company before ??

My critical+2.0 is from dinafem! I absolutely love my critical plant and it’s the first mother plant In my collection!

I have yet to try humboldt but I have read lots of good reviews on them!

I havent to date. Had various others along the way , some great some ok. Not really been dissapointed until this RQS Hulkberry. The freebie critical did ok but the poor germ rate and subsequent yield raised my eyebrows a little. I use another site too and have followed a few Hulk growls. Seems a few with very similar issues over yield to huge plant size. Thought it was my pheno issue at first.
Is Humboldt any connection to the makers of Golden tree Humboldts secret ?

I don't think so. I've used Humboldt's quite a lot and for the most part it's been great. There was one strain that I had problems with and that was the Amherst Sour Diesel. I grew 5 and all of them vegged slowly and had very little stretch during flower meaning I had tiny plants. Then all five hermied at almost the same time. I would have thought that I had a light leak if it wasn't for the fact that I had 5 of their Bubba Kush's in there with them. The Kush's were fine.

Hey Professor! I may be late to the show but i'll be around from hereon-out! :snowboating:
I am planning on doing Barney's Triple Cheese in my next run, and was looking at doing Tangerine Dream with it - however a couple growers i've spoke to on 420 who have run the Tangerine Dream have said the flowers come out rather airy. Have you got any input on that or have you ran the tangerine dream with success before?
I'm not sure how i have not stumbled on one of your journals before but i'm sure glad i did.
Happy growing, peace :Namaste:

Hey Irie! I have indeed grown out the TD. It was one of the first Barneys strains I grew. I received 4 free seeds with a purchase I made online. The freebies were a Barneys bundle consisting of Critical Kush, Vanilla Kush, Liberty Haze and Tangerine Dream. The TD was good but it was my least favourite out of those 4. I remember her being the most finicky but she had some good buds and a decent yield. It's just that in my opinion the other 3 were much better. The Critical Kush was at the time one of the best smokes I'd ever had. The Vanilla Kush was so beautiful and had a taste that actually reminded me of vanilla. The Liberty Haze was my friends favourite. Said it was the best thing he'd ever smoked and that made me so proud. It was a great smoke. That leaves the TD. Like I said she wasn't bad, it's just that those 3 kicked ass!

lol don't worry, I've not been on the site for very long. I wish I'd joined when I started growing though. I could have learnt a ton by now

Always the variables to pheno on top too. To date , in 25 years ,no hermies ( touch wood).
Would love to find a couple of strains to stick with . Hard when u can't guarantee constants.
New beans happy and hardening off nice too. Have found a security guard walking among them today. Do love these little Zebra spiders. Their speed is amazing. Watching it " flick jump" between the rootIt cubes to avoid walking on the tray is trippy. Like a strobe light being used , its that quick.
Feel safer with her on patrol.

Nice looking seedling GG! When are you going to take them out of the tray? Nice spider also. Until earlier last month I hadn't seen a zebra spider in years, I'd almost forgotten about them. I imagine they would also be good at hunting pests because of their size

I've just transplanted the Blue Gelato 41 and Strawberry Lemonade into the net pots....

Here what I've done....
ORG_DSC00162.JPG

I added a small amount of MegaCrop by eye to this tub of water. Then I adjusted the ppm and ph before adding the clay pebbles which I rescued from the compost heap. I've washed them in a weak alcoholic solution, rinsed them, boiled them on the hob for 10 minutes then rinsed them again....

ORG_DSC00165.JPG
ORG_DSC00166.JPG

I then put them into the tub of weak nutrient solution to soak for a couple hours....
ORG_DSC00167.JPG

Continued....

The transplant is simple. I filled these 2 net pot seeds with the clay pebbles....
ORG_DSC00170.JPG

Then I added the 2 hemp cubes to the pots....

Blue Gelato 41....
ORG_DSC00174.JPG

Strawberry lemonade....
ORG_DSC00175.JPG

I'll use the plastic tub filled with a nutrient solution to water these. It's like a flood and drain I guess. I'll simply submerge the net pot into the tub of nutrients a couple times a day until they're more established....
ORG_DSC00171.JPG

They're in with the POG at the moment but I'll probably put them in the other tent when the lights come on as there is more room....
ORG_DSC00176.JPG

I'll take some more pics of them as soon as the wake up a bit under the lights

Happy growing everyone....

Love it Prof. Have to hold off on the net pots till I get back from my jollies. Will be up potting them into litre bottles with coco and perlite mix. Am going to put wick through bottoms and up into bottle to keep it moist while I am away for 10 days ( go in a weeks time). The wicks will be put into holes through lids of 10 litre tubs ( 2 each tub) with nutes in.Not sure what strength to use yet as depends on progress over next week or so. This is why i knew you will be ahead of the game for me to follow. lol. All doing well here though and seeing the little critter hopping about made me think of you straight away.lol
These little no web needing monsters amaze me. seeing how far they can see you from is shocking. have had many a dance with these ladies using my fingers. love em.
Like the heads up on the method too mate. will make those roots burst out.

Spiders have very good hearing. Yup, they are much creepier than you thought. They hear you through soundwaves picked up by tiny hairs on their bodies and legs.

They can hear you across the room. They have horrible eyesight generally.

I just found my little pet. I hadn't seen her for a few days and thought the worst but here she is....

Hey 420! Shenanigans are afoot yet again in this tent. I'm pretty sure it's because they need more room in the root zone. I'm still waiting for the pots to arrive which is kind of annoying but I think the plants will be fine once they arrive. Then it's time for flowering!....

Hey @ProfessorFlora! Glad to see your pet is still guarding your tent. :snowboating:
Your ladies are definitely begging for that transplant, but they'll be good till then i'm sure. How long will you leave them in their new homes after flipping to flower?

Depends on how much more they suffer. I was originally intending on allowing a couple days to a week tops but some of those leaves have turned bad very quickly. The pots should be here any day now so potentially I could be flowering this time next week. They're getting a haircut before they're flowered though. The GZ is becoming a mini monster lol
