Barneys Farm Sponsors Grow: Gorilla Zkittles, Orange Sherbert Plus Many More

Indeed it is not lol. I'd like to have a go at doing a stealth diy grow area one day. I've been looking at converting a large chest freezer into a sea of green chamber
I know what you mean about being a kid at Christmas. I'm going to wait until 420 day before I do my next order. Hopefully my daughter will be born by then so I can use her birth as an excuse to treat myself to some more beans. It's also the best time for strain deals and freebie seeds on most of the online shops
I've got the Blue Gelato and the Strawberry Lemonade next inline for germination. It won't be long before they meet the dirt
:passitleft:
ordered 4 GZ, 1 OS ,1Blue gelato 41, 1phantom og and a cookie kush. hoping i dont fuck the germing up with so few seeds to play with !!. Will ne attempting them once the current grow is 4-5weeks in flower i think. will bug you for germing advice as i am sick of killing seeds before they get to light. so many past failures to date.lol

sea of green chamber sounds good to. love innovation on here. will be eyes on that project too.lol

I use jiffy pellets mate I've had 100% success rate with them - I just soak them in water they swell into little pots you just drop the seeds in the predrilled hole and cover - keep em moist and they pop up in 3 to 4 days - never lost one yet

have used them many times in past but went to rooting plugs for a while , cups and coco . just seem to kill them off somehow. think my cheap prop gets too hot tbh. I had not thought of jiffy pellets for a while thanks Fl3tch

Hey 420! Today's update is a step in the wrong direction. There still showing signs of nutrient deficiency. Everything is correct now as far as I can tell. Temps are good, ph is spot on, humidity is in the good range and they're drinking fine. They're not being over or under watered either. I did a bit of research last night and found something which maybe the issue. Biobizz claim that you can reuse the allmix but you have to add 10-20% worm castings and a good scoop of another one of their products called premix. They then claim that your first watering after you recycle the soil should be a large dose of microbial tea. Basically I didn't do any of that and instead simply flushed the old soil and started from the beginning as normal. Another thing that they say is that you shouldn't use their allmix for more than 6-9 months as it'll lose all of its goodness and become spent. So if what they say is true then I'm in trouble. Well not really as there are a couple solutions to this problem. Firstly I could just buy another bag or 2 of fresh soil. These plants aren't in their final pots yet so that's still an option. Another thing I could do is to change nutrients. If I start using synthetic nutrients now instead of these organic ones I'm currently using then the plants should have no problem taking up what they need. If I did this then I'd use the Canna Terra range as it's the cheapest and easiest to obtain in the UK. I'm not decided on what to do just yet and I'm open to suggestions from everyone if they have any better ideas. They're still growing reasonably well though as you can see in the pics but those leaves are suffering big time....

Oh dear! Good job figuring out what’s happening Prof. Is there risk of the nutrients reacting poorly with what’s still lingering in the dirt?
I wouldn't say that I've figured it out quite yet but it's something to consider. I did an organic grow in the past that I lost control of and couldn't figure it out. I ended up using the nutes from my previous grow and the plants went back to normal. I used to grow exclusively with Canna products and loved them. I moved onto Biobizz about 3 years back then went to hydro for about a year. I'd never reused soil before so haven't encountered anything like this. I've had a few problems with Biobizz soil in the past but I've always managed to fix them except for the one where I ended up using the normal veg nutes.

I had literally one set of leaves which had a similar look to those it was orange/brown/purple spots - at the same time that I had noticed I started adding calmag and silicon to my nutrients and it didn't appear on any new growth and didn't see it again so I'm guessing the calmag helped with uptake - as you said I would get new media though it should be similar so you don't get water pockets etc.. But persevere as my gz and os are looking great these are at 24 days into flower

At 24 days they look fantastic! I've got loads of soil leftover that I could prepare properly for next time but for now I think that getting a new bag for the transplant is probably a good idea. Cheers Fl3tch

I think the pics make them look better than they are. I can see the steady degradation on them. I'm not worried as we have all the time in the world to sort them out as there is no rush for meds with these. The problem with Canna soil and Coco is that sometimes the bag comes to your front door unwrapped meaning everyone in your neighbourhood sees what you've ordered. This happens with other soils as well but it has the word CANNA on the front! It doesn't take a geniuses imagination to add the last 3 letters lol

had exact same issue with a delivery of 5 bags from amazon once ffs. lol i go to a local grow shop sometimes , fuck em ,we are small fry mate. heehee. famous last words !!.

I am using Biobizz line in my current grow with coco. I had some issues but managed to solve all of them. I know it doesn't apply for soil but I think plants hate the ratios on the bottles when growing in coco. Since you flushed your soil and having some problems, you might be at somewhere between soil and coco.

I am not sure if your soil has lost its pH buffer but in my case, I started with 5.9, which is the perfect spot for many plants. Since I had several grows with DWC in the past, I thought maybe lowering the pH to 5.6 would be an improvement. It totally did. pH changes in 10 minutes so there is no way to control it manually if you are not both a professional grower and a dealer. I am watering my plants two times a day to provide a more stable pH level by recalibrating the second mix just before the second irrigation.

And here's what I think of Biobizz products so far. I am using Advanced Nutrients root trio(VJ/PR/TR) instead of Biobizz Root Juice. For veg. I am using the FishMix as the main veg. fertilizer. I am using the Activera to provide a healthier space for the microbes. Aloe vera promotes the microbial life and I think it is a must in coco although the Fish Mix already contains some very beneficial stuff in it. I have been using Algamic, which is the seeweed extract, but not anymore. I don't think it is an essential product for cannabis grows. It is raising the PPM levels and when I was using this one, PPM was around 550-650 and I call this much, heavy feeding. Now I lowered the PPM to 350-450 and plants are happy like never before. I had to cut down Algamic for that reason because I am very happy with the BioHeaven. I am using 1ml/l of Fish Mix, Bio Heaven and Activera for veg. and I can say this ratio is way better than the suggested rates both for coco and soil. Things will change in bloom era of course but I will try to feed my plants as light as I can.

AN Cal/Mag xtra and General Organics Diamond Black are the other products that I am using in vegegation. I use Diamond Black just for two weeks. It contains humic acids, which helps transporting nutrients. If you don't have humic or fulvic acids in your medium, maybe this is the reason behind the deficiencies. I am not using fulvic acids until flowering but I used humic acids in coco simply because coco doesn't contain any. I don't use Diamond Black in flowering and replace this one with Advanced Nutrients Nirvana. Never stop using BioHeaven and Activera. As flowering nute and booster, I am using GO Thrive bloom and GO BioBud.

I thought it would be better to write down some extra information about combining different brands here in case someone else might need it. I have never used recycled soil before so that's all I can think for now :bongrip:

I suggest transplanting them to a bigger pot because doing that might fix the problems. You can still train the roots by watering the outter rim. Shouldn't be a huge loss. I wouldn't swap my organic line at this point instead...

Cheers :passitleft:

That sounds great but there's a tiny problem and that is cash flow lol. Some of those products are pretty expensive and I'm trying to save money at the moment for time off next month when our new baby is born. I thought I'd get away with keeping it cheap and easy and wasn't expecting this issue. Not to worry though as we'll find a way. Transplanting to a bigger pot is good idea though

I feel you mate. Prices here are increased dramatically due to the currency. I hate going to a hydro store these days. Finance is already tough but in an environment like that, people become more likely to screw each other. Hydro stores are doing this in a state of art level :rip:

I don't have a wife or any kids but the daughter of a close friend of mine will be two y.o. this wednesday. His life dramatically changed after the birth of his kid. He looks very very happy but down and exhausted at the same time :meditate: Having a baby is a very serious thing to deal with. I always assumed that way but I only internalised this idea after observing a case from a tiny distance. I wish you good luck and great healt for your baby. He/she will have a great parents as far as I can tell from here :passitleft:
