Flowering Tent Update....

Hey 420! I'm really starting to like the look of these girls. At first I didn't have the same connection as I did with the previous free. Something felt wrong. I'm not really sure now even what it was. Maybe it was the sand experiment I did that took the thrill away from the strains. Or maybe it was because we found those pollen sacks. I'm not sure. Whatever it was it's going and I feel wowed by them now when I open the door. They're doing more than simply recovering from the early trimming. They are alive with energy and feel stronger than before. I don't want to annoy anyone by going on about the smell too much but it really is something else. It's not in your face like something from the Chem line or pungent like Cheese but its so strong. I realise that there are 4 plants in the tent and I'm actually really speaking about one plant in particular. The Blue Gelato number 1. She smells fantastic! Don't get me wrong the others are great but she's phenomenal in my books. Strawberry Lemonade 2 is also fire on a stick with a genuine lemonade/soda scent but she's beaten by the eye raising quality of the BG 1. Their growth is impressive also. We're at day 25 so plenty of time to fatten the buds. I thought that these would probably go past week 10 but they feel more like 9 week plants depending on your trich preference. They'll be getting a watering tomorrow whether they want it or not. The last 2 times were too close and I've already had an accident in the first week of flower where they went really dry. They seem to dry out overnight and I really can't tell by lifting the pots. They're probably 25 kilos or more even when they're dry lol. I've been meaning to actually weigh them to see just how heavy they are. I'll probably do it after harvest now. Anyway it's time for some pics....

Nice frost and really cool purple on the stems of the BGs!
I'll get a couple pics at lights out tomorrow if I can. You can see that they'll go a nice dark shade pretty soon. I've seen a few finished Blue Gelato's and they have some beautiful long spear like buds. I'm hoping they make it to the end with no more hermie issues.

Veg Tent Update....

The soil grown plants are being fed with every other watering now. The Ayahuasca Purple is still a little slow compared to the other 2 but she's healthy....

They are starting to look like they would like a larger pot to me so I'll be transplanting them in the next coupe of days.

Continued....

Thanks GG. Means a lot buddy. It was a nice surprise to come home to. Purple rain indeed

Lol. I'm not sure I'm one step ahead of you. Mine won't be organic or living as they say but I'll get to witness the war of the roots first hand. I think they'll stand a better chance in the fabric pots then if I had used a solid pot. All of these strains have potential for big plants which means vigorous root systems. I love the idea about the indoor flower bed gardening though. It could be a great experience

Crazy as a coconut Dutch. Plant training is a definite for this little experiment

This year I have been getting into the more extreme side of composting. I have a bin now that is full of meat and dairy, cooked food and just about anything I can find in the house. I balance out the slop with brown cardboard and leaves. There's so much life in there that the surface is crawling. It literally wiggles. All the maggots and worms and other wonderful beasts are just speeding up the process and helping me along. The best part that shocks everyone when I show them is that the smell is almost pleasant. You'd imagine that it would be unbearable when you open the lid but not at all. You do get hit in the face with a swarm of flies but other than that it's great. It's in a plastic bin which gets full sun from dusk til dawn which helps to speed up the process. It's about 3 feet deep now and the stuff which I see in the bottom looks good to go. I'm going to fill it over the course of the year and use it next spring. Don't worry GG. I get the ramble bug as well if someone hits the right note lol

thank you very much N! The Four Autos! I'm imagining them to look like a colourful bouquet of flowers when they're done. I be the the end result may somewhat different lol

Lol. Thanks Shed. I be the Mrs Flora would love a Spog. Then I imagine her face dropping as I tell her that what she is seeing isn't just one branch.

I grew their Purple Skunk and Sour Melon Mass. the PS had a great, strong and floural Skunk profile and the Sour melon was OK. It was a bit fruity but nothing to scream about. She was also pretty slow and took way longer than advertised.

Updates to follow!
Bang on the money again prof. you are mulching with meat and dairy too. wow. so much to learn for me . i want to try the fish head under a repotted photo too one day. Now things are getting even more exciting. I am so convinced on the nutes side of things now. so many products and bells and whistles too. Reading old stuff i spoke of with Emilya and ag among others who swear by no till and the benefits , have me chomping at the bit to go for it after the autos maybe. .Would love to share another thread

Everyone looks well-recovered from their previous mishaps!
I've had some more mishaps since then. I'll show you shortly
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! More plants! This auto be fun. Four plants in one pot. There's a reason why you're called the Professor! Not because you look like a nerd but becasue you go where no man has gone before. :goodluck:
yippee! More work! Lol thanks Mr S! Guess what? I now own a Pineapple Express and it was you who inspired me to germinate her. I look like Danny Devito crossed with Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
We wanna see some nugs mate :Namaste:
!!!
All in good time lol! If you like I'll do a full strain report on the Orange Sherbert tomorrow. They're ready now

Lol. The first thing I noticed was that you used multiquote! I'm not sure that composting the meat indoors would be wise. One thing that I have been looking at though and I probably won't do this with any of my cannabis plants is composting directly in the plant pot. When you pot up plants you simply add a decent amount of kitchen waste to the bottom of the pot then top up with compost before you add the plant.

Out of the 2 phenos the larger has a more mellow yet still very nice smell. BG41 1 is just heavenly though.
You learned to multi-quote! :bravo:
LOL!
accidental!!!. lol
LOL!

Had a bit of tinker in the veg tent. The next phase is underway....

My choice with which branches to remove may seem odd but their is reasoning behind the approach. I'm trying to give the AP a chance to catch up. I'm going to try to aim for 16 growth tips before we put them into flower. Each plant currently has 4. Also, all lower growth is going to be removed just before flower. We have around 5 weeks left before the flowering tent becomes available....

Love the thinking prof. will keep it manageable. no idea on the multi quotes happening. ??? In the words of the 80's Goddess "It's a Mysssssstrey".
Wasnt going to use meat/dairy directly in the loft.lol. only want to try the fishhead that way under a control repot. would love to see how it works . competition tomato growers used this method for monster tomatoes. Buried beneath a rootball would kill the smell off i think.
I will be using a bin for the composting main and recharge the grow soil with it when each run finished. Love the thought of all organic and not having to buy into the "jesus's blood" to get a decent crop out. nature has always done it better.

5 weeks will be a good veg/training period too. Universe is working with you nicely now prof.

Lol the composting of meat in int he attick is forbidden! Man, imagine that in the summer lol.
Looking good Prof! Nice start to the training and defoliation
Hope you and the family are ready for another weekend!
It's a wet weekend Dutch. It's the summer holidays so it's raining. The plants are loving it because it's cooler but I have to keep an eye on the humidity because it's around 80-90%. I actually have every tent door open at the moment to disperse the wet air into the room. After seeing N420 and Shed get hit with some rot recently I'm a little concerned .

Flowering Tent Update....

Hey 420! My original plan for this evening was to do a smoke report on the Orange Sherbert when I got back from work. Mrs.F has taken the camera somewhere and won't be back until later so I'll hold off until then for the report. I can still do the growroom updates with the camera on the tablet but I'd prefere to use the better camera for the bud pics in the report. I'm just about to give these 4 their watering. Turns out they definitely need one. I can see the BG's becoming a tiny bit droopy and after scratching about on the surface I does feel really dry. I will give them a flush soon to remove any nutrient buildup in the pots and to start feeding them at the highest recommended dose. There is noticeable difference in their appearance daily and all look to be progressing at a good pace. It's flowering day 26 and the plants are being fed 12g of MegaCrop in 10ltrs of water every 3-4 days. I'm PH adjusting using lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda. The lighting currently in use is 600w of mixed LED consisting of 2x200w red/blue COB's and 2x100w 3200k Luminus COB's. The medium is at a rough estimate 2/3 coarse sand and 1/3 recycled soil. There we go. A little refresher....
