Ok so quick question regarding the hydroton and its ph.

I flushed and put fresh tap ph’d to 5.59 on Wednesday. As of right now it’s at 5.79. So in my mind it’s still drifting up. I know that where it currently sits is within range but should I continue to dump and re ph it until it stops drifting?

Or should I let it ride and see when/where/if it stops drifting?

It’s getting close to needed to put it in the basket! As when I get home this afternoon there will be a newborn in the tent :)

Your Good! :nerd-with-glasses:

Short soak and rinse is all I have ever done with no problems. The hydroton will be suspended OVER the res, not sitting in water, and shouldn't react too much with ph. All the action will be taking place Below the hydroton. Specially, because you took out the air driven Top Feed.

I am ready for some EXPLOSIVE DWC action! ❤️

Well that makes sense!!! Ok good I might be filling the res on Sunday then if she looks ready for that!

I don’t know about explosive!! I am convinced I’m going to kill it LOL! So maybe DEADLY DWC ACTION is more like it
 
No I haven't let them dry out but I'm lazy I slit the rockwool face the seed up as in the pictures these seeds were put in last night at 8:pm water temp 78°f

Yes! Once the roots are hanging out of the Rockwell cube, the dangers of Overwatering is mostly gone!

I will stick with EXPLOSIVE! ❤️ (compared to soil)

When you keep the water highly oxygenated, the only other factor is ph.

Ok I am going to prep to be ready to move to the DWC set up by Sunday as I am assuming this is when I am going to move her over. Though I am really only guessing as I have no idea what to expect as far as how rapid her roots will grow.

Let the shit show err I mean fun times begin!!

Hurray! Is the root coming out the bottom yet? It looks lively for sure.
 
I decided to mix up a new batch of silica using This from @farside05 as the batch I made before the silica would settle out of it. So I let it cook a little longer than last time. Came to a slight simmer then on low for 10 mins.

This is what it currently looks like.

Very similar to last time, but hopefully not as much falls out. We will see…
 
Make sure that root is isolated from any light, even now! I don't know if rockwool is totally opaque.

I took a good long gander under the 30x and didn’t see anything, though maybe I didn’t know what I was looking at LOL
 
I’m thinking that’s shadows. I was more concerned with the white stuff lol
