Barney's Farm Blueberry Cheese, 600 Watt HPS, DWC, Rockwool

Better late than never. My GSC just broke ground today. I hear what your saying about seeing the differences throughout the day. I'm taking and posting pics a few times today. This morning I literally saw and took pics of it coming up more as I took pics. Pretty cool seeing it grow right before my eyes.

I thought in Mr Kip's journal that the rep for Geo Flora said it's not suitable 4hydroponics because it doesn't totally dissolve.

Thank you smokey for letting me know that. Phantom actually got with me as well and told me about it. I had no idea. Im in contact with GeoFlora as well asking why and whats the issue and if its something I can get by with. As long as its just a PPM issue I can dose it accordingly using my meter. Im trying to find out why its not a good idea.

I received a reply from GeoFlora with a little more details on why it doesnt work in DWC and similar. The reply was:

"the main reason is that our product is not 100% water soluble, so it may cause issues with the rez clogging or biofilm developing due to the presence of organic matter, molasses, and non soluble materials - the second being that the product releases nutrients slowly into the growing media as a result of bacteria breaking down organic matter into soluble nutrients (like youd find in a bottle). in a water only environment, these nutrients are not broken down, and only soluble components are used, reducing the efficiency of the product. "

So for this grow I will be sticking to the MC with my other supplements.

Blue Cheese is doing great! Have a fan on her and light is 12 inches away on 300 watts. (50%).

We have two alaskan purple and the WW about to break "ground" =). I see the Glookies seed popped open down in the rockwool as well. If she makes it shes being super slow lol. Good to see life.

No roots out bottom yet.

Hope im not updating to much for you guys!

First pic is White Widow and the other two are Alaskan purple and the last one is the Glookies that just popped down in the rockwool this morning after 3 days i believe? If the plan stays the same all of these will be soil.

Ok guys another little quick update since I just transplanted. Root was coming out the bottom already!

Man, i love rockwool.

This top is on a 5 gallon bucket right now until she gets a little bigger. My watering halo doesnt fit the 6 inch rockwool so im not sure what im going to do with watering until roots hit the water. Might rig up something to auto water.

Keep the updates coming @HunterNitro :). Love watching the progress. Remember us Newbies have no idea what we are doing and this really helps us out a lot. I am going to try DWC my next round in about a month or so after my first grow is done. About the nutes with DWC, there are certain ones that work best and some that don’t work at all, correct? I am using Remo right now. I may have to look at ones that are for
Hydro?

Yes thats correct you want ones that are ok in hydro. Most liquid nutes are fine in hydro that ive found. I have been using the General hydroponics line in hydro and soil for years now. I just purchased Mega Crop as its advertised as a one nutrient supplement, meaning it is all you need from start to finish. I will try it out on this grow, but will still be supplementing a few of my GH nute line as wanted especially in mid - late flower. Phantom is running Mega Crop right now so make sure you check out his grow. If it turns out good I would have to recommend Mega Crop just being so easy and one step. Its cheap to for start to finish. There is quite a few growing with the MC right now.

Thanks guys! Glad to have you all here to follow along.

Right on @HunterNitro glad to see she popped roots and is in the big cube! :yahoo: You and @The Phantom have me seriously considering MC for our next grow. It just sounds so easy.

Yea for sure. This will be my first time using it so I will for sure put it to the test. With GH on backup if needed :p

Yea shes in the big cube! Will definitely be a week before I see roots again im sure. Root growth is pretty crazy in rockwool so we will see. The other 3 girls WW, 2 - alaskan purple will be going in soil today or tomorrow! Glookies has popped but very slow growth. Small tap root out and not going in rockwool yet. I dont think she will make it.

1 agree with Smokey, if you have the newest stuff (I think mid-May 2020 and up) you shouldn’t have to get anything else except maybe a cal/mag supplement if you have really, really demanding plants. I was able to clear my deficiency up by just upping the dosage of MC.

1 bag the entire grow and easy to dose.

A lot going on right now!

Blue cheese is coming along nicely! Upped the MC to 300 ppm and pH to 5.5. Shes a little lighter green than I like so thats why I upped it. I will continue to do so. At this point im not for sure my dosage other than PPM.

I may turn this into a Perpetual grow/multi grow or at least post updated here on the other tent. As most of you know I purchased another tent in hopes to keep a mother or two. Well that has changed. That tent will now be another flower tent. I have purchased a 240 watt LED board with Samsung LM301B LED's on it and a Meanwell Driver. Everything has been installed and reworked over the last 2 days getting the conditions right. Driver has been rewired and placed outside the tent. I have three sprouts going strong in FF Ocean forest soil now in this tent. The final plan for this tent will be 2 autos every 90 days. I will only flower 2 of the 3 plants I have right now. Handful of tops and put the 240 watt to work.
