Barney’s Farm With The Mars Hydro

Good day, this morning I binned 2 more. Its going to get crowded now fast. Lets hope they all cooperate and grow up, instead of around. The topped 3 are really beefing up for the age. :Rasta:
Happy grows :peace:

:thanks:, its still fun to do.

The three that were topped are growing from everywhere now. The tops have nearly caught up to the 2nd node's growth. The 1st node was removed, 2nd is growing, topped at third for 2 new tops, all has secondary growth and everything is converging at the top. Hoping for 4 similar main colas from these, we will see. :Rasta: The rest are un-topped with just the 1st nodes removed. With no training I hope they grow taller rather than round. I might remove the 2nd node's. If so, soon. I don't remove the cotyledons or single blades until they start to yellow off.

There is just the slightest bit of tipping on the newest growth. I think its from the lights strength rather than nutrients, just a little gold on the new tips. Will need to see tomorrow how it grows out. I'm trying to close some of the distance to light by letting the plants grow into it, shorten distance. The light is at 75% power and I plan on going to 90% in flower.
I think these will show pistols soon. Don't most start showing pistols at 3 weeks?
Looking forward to using the new line of nutrients. They should be here just in time for flowering.

Happy grows :peace:

:thanks: How is your weather?
It now looks like a non event for us as it's path has gone more east, maybe a bit of gusty weather for a couple of days but nothing major. Fiji today had a big underwater volcanic explosion today which is troubling them at the moment.

I just saw this-

Good morning, we had fresh snow overnight. Its a crisp snowy morning. My neck and shoulder feel a bit better today, and I can lift my left arm away from my body a little bit. It'll be a movie day. After looking for something different in the goodie box, I decided it would be a Blueberry morning.. day, and evening. The Blueberry was a frrebie surprise. One I want to grow again. :Rasta:

The plants took to the topping and node removal well. Its day 12, we are past the seedling stage now. The .5 gal pots are dry after a full watering in two days. By next weekend it should be down to the final 9 or maybe 10. I'm anxious to water enough to be able to treat the soil for the gnats.
The gnats are a bummer but can happen anytime. I see people often question what is the best, or better bagged soil. I always have used good quality garden soil from the nursery with good results. I do amend with pearlite and a few other things. Why reinvent the wheel?

Wishing all a great Sunday. Happy grows :peace:

Hi @Slipdog01 , welcome. Pull up a chair. In those pics the plants are 12 days old. Today they are 18 days. They have been growing strong. There have regular updates to this journal if you want to look back.

I just cleaned the tent, adjusted airflow and checked the plants for any problems. All good. The color is a little light. They have had 2 feedings, 2 days apart. They will start to green up soon. Its a touchy time, growth was pushed hard with the light and many lite watering's. The leaves are crisp with water, I snapped a blade off a 3 finger leaf just raising it off the soil. It'll all even out soon. The growth is very good. :Rasta:

A couple pics from tonight after the inspection. Taking a quiet day off tomorrow. :peace:

Be safe our Hawaiian friends!

Tragic event. Thoughts and prayers for all those affected in Figi and Tonga.

Good morning. Its looking like it will be a full tent. I have the 9 good plants, 3 of each strain that I was looking for. There is a Runtz, runt and a Strawberry Cheesecake for 10 & 11. I kept the runt, its cute, small and so stacked, and the Cheesecake to see how well it transplanted. It was started in a .5 gal and transplanted up, it stalled out for a few days and is perking up now.

This stage of growth is touchy for me. At this time they are usually looking overly green and heavy, this (grow) time heavy and lighter green. This is a growth stage I need to work on.

The 3 that were topped are filling out fast. I removed the 3 bladed fans on these to make watering easier. There is great secondary growth for the age. Looking at them now, I probably should have removed the 2nd node's as well. These will get big.

Waiting for the pistols, they should show soon. Happy grows :peace:

:thanks: Krissi. The plants do all the work. I hope everyone is feeling better in your house. You amaze me with all you have going on. Sorry I missed replying before. :Rasta:
:passitleft:
They look so lovely!

I’m not gonna lie, it hurt my heart that you culled the weak. If we lived close I’d totes adopt them :)

Thanks, they are happy girls. Its hard, and I must admit I felt bad doing it. The goodside is the beans are good, all popped. I wished I had someone to give them to. I try to keep a low 420 profile. :)

--------------
There is not much new. It was a water morning, I'm still not watering to runoff. Yesterday I lifted the 3 gal bags, they were heavy on the bottom with water. Not full, prob the bottom 2". The 3's only received .5 liters of water today, it was slowly applied to the top of the bags. The other pots were dry and light, a few got a small taste last night to hold over until today where they each received 1.25 liters. Lets hope they dry fairly equal for a full next water/feed. :peace:

They really did, I'm impressed. Each strain is distinctive. There appear to be two phenotype's of the Strawberry Cheesecake. The Runtz and the Zkittlez are the same so far.

We can see them progressing in growth each update, looking good!
It feels like I am over-posting again. Its funny, I still get excited growing these plants. They grow so fast.

---

Last night I took some lower fans to make room down low and improve airflow. While doing so I thought I saw some pistols. Today the Cheesecake and the Zkittlez are showing pistols. Right on time, today is day 22. The plants have a nice green color. Under the @Mars Hydro light they look a little light. The light is at 75% power, I hope to be up to 90% next week. :peace:

Good morning, it was a nice surprise seeing the pistols yesterday. Today pistols are showing on everything except the 3 that were topped. The topped 3 have amazing growth under the fans (back). They are just starting to open up now. I wanted to see how they reacted to the topping. I'm going to try and make it work. :peace:
