Barney’s Farm With The Mars Hydro

Is this yours?
No it’s Neil Diamond.

My mum loved him. She had bipolar and as kids we learned young the record she was playing dictated which mania we would find.

Hot August Night = mum super happy and dancing and cookies/bikkies and sweets/lollies for dinner
The Jazz Singer = no dinner, mums in bed crying
Jonathan Livingstone Seagull = no dinner, mum drunk crying while dramatically bleating “I just want to dieeeeeeeee” over and over.

Me and my two brothers can recite most of his lyrics.

This morning the Lemon Tree looked nearly ready. The sun was trying to come out so I took a few pics in the snow.

The light will stay off now, Thursday I will chop.

Happy grows :peace:

I wonder if the shock/stress of that snow cover kicks up terpene production?

The runts is hanging, I took a few pics when checking on how it was going. It’s hard to get in close and be steady. You can see where some sort of stalks have formed in the flower. Another pic shows a bigger cluster with little red flowers but its not as clear. She would have probably kept pushing pistils for awhile. Now I need to look up the anatomy of the pistil and calyx? Does anyone know what those stalks are called? It’s been a very busy day.

Congratulations on your harvest my friend.
This might help with your question.

Thanks Bill, I saw that breakdown before. Are those little stalks pre-poppin pistils?
Yes the pistols hang out there trying to catch passing pollen and make a seed.

Stay safe
Bill

Thanks Bill. There are no pistils on those little stalks. Are those stalks pre- white pistils, Is that where the pistils will pop from? thanks.

Maby I'm looking at the wrong thing .
Are these the ones you are talking about.
I believe they are referred too as sugar leaves.

Stay safe

Thanks again Bill. The circle on rt is a leaf, im not so sure about the center and one above. Will look into it further. :rollit:

Oh. My. Fucking. God!

That in the snow pic could be the cover of a Natural Geographical Mag, look granted that’s not got much to do with growing loll but you know what I mean.

If you don’t put that pic in Dec plant of the month I’m gonna fly to your house, log in to your computer and do it myself!

Congrats on all the yummy harvests stinker.

I would think these mature seeds and any others found would be considered desirable female seeds

It’s hard to leave it alone, she even gave up a couple beans.

Grow them for sure. It’s like Amy’s write up that Hash Girl linked to. Sometimes you’re going to get a fair representation of the plant you grew, sometimes traits of one of its parents will show more, sometimes something surprising gets thrown up.
And yes they should be feminised seeds there.
Now I need to look up the anatomy of the pistil and calyx?

We used to call the bract the calyx until we started to learn this stuff. The calyx is deep in the bract but invisible from outside.

Thanks Bill. There are no pistils on those little stalks. Are those stalks pre- white pistils, Is that where the pistils will pop from? thanks.

The pistils there are the brown, dried off hairy bits and the new white hairy bits.

Fantastic looking harvest :bravo:

I recently won a Mars FC 3000 in a drawing here. As part of the win, I agreed to feature the light in a journal. This is that journal.
Barneys Farm are 420.Magazine Sponsors. Pairing the two for this grow should produce some :circle-of-love:.

The lighting: I am impressed with the FC 3000 specifications and look forward to seeing what we can do. The light is being sent from China; until it arrives I will be using my Mars, TS 1000
The specs on the FC 3000 show that the Commercial flower footprint is 60 cm and the Personal footprint is 90 cm. We should see great results in my 70 x 70 cm (27”x 27”).

The Genetics: All Barney's Farm. We start with the RUNTZ MUFFIN™ a strain I have wanted to grow out for awhile. We also have a couple of the newer releases. A LEMON TREE™ and the MIMOSA X ORANGE PUNCH™. With these new genetics we have a tasty trio from Barney’s Farm.

The Medium: I use local organic soil that I amend with worm castings, glacial rock dust, and pearlite. I regularly up-pot until I get to a final 5 gal grow bag, therefore I don't need much as far as added nutrients in veg. I will continue with my usual 3 part bottled nutrients for later veg and flowering. Someday soon I hope to be in hydro indoors and a living soil outdoors.

The Grower: Me, a mostly retired 61 year old socially awkward male. This will be my 3rd indoor grow and 2nd, photo-period indoor grow. As a teen, I grew a few outdoor gorilla grows in the SFV, CA. This was the 1970’s. I stopped smoking for awhile in my mid 20’s and started again in my early 50’s. I love it! Always did.

The Grow: It’s early, there’s not much to show yet. After being sandwiched between wet paper towels, all three were showing tails at 30 hours, I then moved them to soil. Overnight, the Lemon Tree (LT) and The Mimosa (MXOP) broke soil. I’m confident the Runtz (RM) will show herself by tonight.
I’m thinking we should see some fine cannabis from this grow with this light and these genetics. There's not much to see yet, so I included a shot of my outdoor Barney’s Farm, Dos Si Dos 33.

I would be grateful to anyone that wants to follow along. I’m not comfortable tagging anyone. If I were to do so, it would show how few people I actually interact with here. I’m hoping with this grow I can change that and I learn to be more interactive with others.

Happy grows :peace:

Hell yeh!!

I don't think you would go wrong with either, but I'm partial to Barney's at the moment, this run was satisfying. I think Nicky, @nickeluring is running the Blue Sunset now.

Yes, I am. It is at the end of curing now. I like it very much.

Sorry I again missed notifications of your thread, but you do run 2 threads so that does tend to overburden my brain. But, BUT, that pic of your frosty plant in the snow is just unreal - love it! Great job and enjoy that harvest! :ganjamon:
