Bapple's 2015 Outdoor Grow - Autos & Photos

Hmmm wouldn't it of been easier just to put them in the ground or what are your night temps. Im in the south of france and i for one wouldn't be keeping them out at night still. Just in case

very pretty. I'm curious too, why don't you want to plant directly in the ground?

Hey Spart!

I love the South of France! Lived in Provence for a short while.

We have it hotter here (southern Mediteranean ) than you do in the SOF. Nevertheless for the Autos it is a risk I took for an early harvest to tide me over till the photos are done in October.

Fortunately for me I came to cannabis cultivation with 21 years of mainstream gardening under my belt. So I am a great believer in choosing the correct genetics for my growing conditions - beyond that I don't ever baby anything, .not even my canna grow. If a strain does not like the growing environment I just never grow it again. Cannabis is an incredibly robust and resistant plant, and there are enough strains available for one to never have to battle growing conditions to keep ones plants alive and thriving.

That's why much as I love reading about all the exciting new strains, I stick to buying tried and tested strains from breeders with past proven form and robust R&D credentials. I find that when one chooses strains to match ones growing conditions the plants grow effortlessly and shrug off small problems much as they would do when growing in the wild.

Last year I grew My first 4 plants in the ground. I then grew 2 plants in large pots. The plants I grew in pots yielded much more by miles.

Also I can't have the photos growing out of control ASD is capable of growing to 3 1/2 metres outdoors in the ground and HH can get pretty huge too.

Finally it's very very hot here from June till late September and the soil gets really baked, I feel, based on my experience last year that I am better able to control things in pots than in the ground.

Have you tried using or heard of using Canola oil as a natural pesticide? I mixed some up and sprayed some grape leaves and a Guayaba tree. I would say they look healthy and pest free with no negative effects. Put a nice shine on the leaves too.

Hi Cruizer, thanks for the heads up!

My mix works; but because it's my own recipe the measures are still not precise and the fresh lot I made for the season was not dilute enough, real essential oils are very strong and concentrated, I have now watered it down slightly.

Hope your week has started well :thumb:

Random geography question here:
Why do people always assume when i say the south of france they think by Cannes and Nice when really the south of France is more by Perpignan or even closer to spain??

I just saw a post on the greenhouse that lidls has ,, I think is about 35pounds but I thought maybe a lil flimsy as the walls are polythene my next door neighbour has something similar an there are holes all through,,but it did stand for a good year out in British weather:thumb:

Hi BB, outdoor growing is great especially with a 7 month growing season. There are trees on one side of my grow, if they get too out of control size wise I will tie them down using the trees. I put them in pots to avoid them getting insanely tall.

Hope your day is going well :grinjoint:
