Bapple's 2015 Outdoor Grow - Autos & Photos

Those babies are gonna grow like crazy :-) happy days! Have you heard of nematodes for slugs? There a safe biological control for slugs. You get a we packet of them, and mix with ur water and wash into the soil. These litle guys will bore into any slug that comes near your crop. Ive used them in my braccisa area with amzing results! Im sure you have heard of them b4..I used them for the first time last summer, and was well pleased..

Do you have any issues with natural predators that like to eat plants where you live? I guess Holland? We have deer here ( im in Eastern U.S.) that will just strip outside grows...

Nice update! Looking great! :thumb:

Thanks Cruizer!

Hello W! Thanks for looking in.

I am in the Mediteranean. Only vermin I have to worry about are rats and slugs. I have 7 outdoor cats who keep the rats away.....happily no deer or rabbits. If the weather would only pull itself together, usually by late April here it's too hot for slugs and snails to survive.

Wish the weather here was closer to summer days, probably another month or so before I dare drag anything outside for some sun. Those you have Bapple look very healthy. :thumb:

Thanks Tranquil, I am keeping my fingers crossed, as it's cold again this week (14C day temps and as low as 7C nights) hoping I don't lose the plants to cold. But the Amherst Sour Diesel I grew between September and New Years Eve reassures me that cannabis is really resilient and will cope with a lot once over a certain size. Hope you had a pleasant Easter break :thumb:

That look like a nice spot :cheertwo:

This one's gonna be fun.

Hello careStaker, yes it's a great spot; just waiting for decent weather. Hope you had a good Easter :thumb:

hi. i have heard hollands hope is a good outdoor plant. i live in washington state, usa. its still a bit cool to plant out. and, i have to be fairly choosey, on what i put outside. last year i did a thc bomb, as my main jane. it finished. i have done aurora indica, jack herer, and a nl5, which did not survive a mold attack. i do have some more thc bomb, i think i will put out. what country are you in? your photo is preety. celcius. lol. we do farenheit. so, i dont like nights to get below 50 degrees far. so, probably close to a month, till i put some outside. im planning on one in a 4' hole, filled with potting soil. and one in a huge container. that i think is like 18 gallons. yes, some plants are very touchy to some soil, that isent even that hot....i use soiless for when they are young. here is my thc bomb from last year. and my guard pom. lol.

Hello Cannalingus, thank you for looking in to my grow. Yes I got HH because she is mold and cold resistant. How she will cope with the extreme heat when it comes is unknown. I am in the Mediteranean (southernmost Europe).

That Thc bomb in the photo is the business, is she in the ground or in a pot?

Happy days Bapple :thumb:
I like the spot you planted them in ,,to hot for slugs ,,, i wish it got to hot for slugs here :volcano-smiley:we get hundreds of em.
:circle-of-love:

Sweet! Look forward to seeing what you get up to this season :thumb:

For slugs last year what i did was take these cooper strip things that i guess carry a charge that kinda shocks the slugs that and boiling egg shells and letting them dry out for a few days then spreading them out above the soil the slugs dont like the texture of the egg shells and turn around running.

Thanks Spart, annoyingly slugs were not a problem last year cos I started later than this. Where does one get the copper ring thingies, I have seen them in Conradino23's journals.

Check a garden supply store they will usually have copper slug fencing of some sort- or any place you can think of that has thin copper sheeting. Or for that matter, any type of copper material you can find around. We usually build a wooden box around and tack the copper to that- as long as you keep the weeds from overgrowing it it works well and is pretty much permanent as a slug barrier. Also you can find copper netting material for slug fencing but it's a bit more troublesome and not as durable. There are slug repellant/killer products containing iron phosphate which is non toxic and safe for organic growing. That works well and is the least work.

Yeah i would suggest just doing a search on ebay it's maybe $10 for a 30 feet or the mesh is about $7 for 20 feet or try home depot or any garden store should carry something. I tend to steer clear of the chemical repellents just for the fact that if I'm kinda paranoid about putting anything in or around plants that I'm planning on consuming.

Okay weather seems to be calming down but night temps still not ideal......

The four plants that are going into their final pot or ground tomorrow, all broke soil within 36 hours of each other, for my sanity I am going to say everyone is at day 21 today

Group shots of all 4 plants. Day 21 ABK, BAM, Portela and ASD

Another group shot, the two above are the Portela and ASD and the two below are the Autos BAM and ABK
The Auto that is bottom left is growing but pouty, nute burn and some twisted leaves. I broke 2 fan leaves off one of the photo plants while removing them from under the lights, but I am sure she will soon shrug it off plenty of growing time yet.

The Hollands Hope has recovered from transplant and is looking good, will post photo tomorrow after transplanting the other 4

The AutoMazar is being attacked by what I suspect to be crickets cos that's what they were last year, have sprayed the plant with a mixture of dilute essential oils of Rosemary, lemon eucalyptus, peppermint and lavender. Will see how she is doing tomorrow. It's interesting she and the HH are side by side but the HH is as clean as a whistle. The topped AutoMazar got a s#*t load of ants in the pot. I have dosed the area round the pot with bait but ants here during the growing season are a never ending problem.... She is not looking so hot but she is growing. Photos of her with tomorrow's update.
