When you take clones is a function of when you have some plant bits you want to trim off!

Question,
This may be a dumb question but is "topping" only allowed at the top of the plant? Or can I "top" lower growth and it'll start growing two giant coalas too? I asked a grower friend of mine and they said they've never done it but I was like I wonder if that's how those guys get like 30+ tops or is it from like a super long veg state,
And is there a negative too it if it does work?
Here's how she's looking today, I'm not sure when to top but if I did right now she'd be extremely even which would be cool.

Also I have three plants in my tent currently the funny thing is all three of these were started at the EXACT same time, two of them were extremely neglected sat in a window for many weeks and one sat a entire night in darkness as soon as she hit soil so she got stupid tall.
The smallest one is Northern lights which I'll be getting a clone of eventually, and the other is a mystic like mine, these will be out of the tent in a few days I just wanted to show yall the difference between a neglected set of plants and one that sat under lights and was fed nutrients earlier on.
Kind of interesting,
Look at the difference in stem! And the other mystic needs a straw to stand up because of how weak it is

Only top the very top of the plants once? Or only top all the top/lowers once?Short answer is yes.
Hi BabyTrees, I top once. I see folks topping side branching too for more main colas. Cola strategy if you will, is about wants and needs. It adds time to the overall grow I haven't wanted to add I guess. I wish I could send you to a grow that did it but I can't remember anyone doing it right now. Might be fun and creative.
Sorry my apologies. What I meant is only topping the entire plant once. Leaving the individual branches alone.
I've topped all growth on some plants, so feel free! Whether it's right for you depends on how much room you have (topping side growth will greatly expand the footprint of the plant at flip) and how long you want to veg after topping. Topping will obviously slow the growth of each stem for a while as new growth starts from scratch.

yeah, that may be a project for once I get a grow under my belt, or only one plant in the tent. I think I'll keep low strength training for another few weeks, I wasn't expecting to keep this Nothern Lights in my tent I wanted a clone from it when it was big enough, but i'll be growing it out in my tent..
it is extremely short, but the same exact age as my mystic, when I transplanted it did have very nice established root growth its just a mini-plant for some reason. I'll be feeding her soon and I'll be ramping up nutes to see if we can get some stretch I will veg my mystic for a few more weeks to let the northern grow out some more haha I'll upload some pics she has gotten a little taller since transplant

Some plants take a while to get over the transplant, but once the roots find all the new space they go right back to growing!

Yeah this ones Been a tiny thing since birth, but it's okay I really like how my mystics been looking so im focusing most my attention on that and just letting the northern do it's thing I'm not gonna LST it or anything may not even top.

This isn't part of my grow anymore I just thought it was crazy to show the difference from the Tall weak mystic that was neglected this is after 3? Days in a tent under a 1000w, she's looking crazy great aside from the insane burn she got cause she was so close to the light.
Makes me wanna see what a 600W would do in my tent haha

Yeah I got offered to trade my 300W for the 600W but i can't decide if I want to yet or not. I really like the idea of doing a full run 300W and than a full run on 600W. The problem is none of the data will be accurate since I'd be starting the next run from Clones. So maybe I will just grab the 600W.
I also have to make sure it's not going to trip my breaker as I have to be conscious of the amount of electric everything's pulling I know travel trailers are weird and each outlets on a like 15Amp leg I think, and multiple can be connected on that leg I'm not 100% on the electrical I just know I have to be careful and make sure itd work with everything on in my house before swapping so I don't screw myself in the long run haha.
No blurple LED is anywhere close to what they say it is, in terms of wall watts. Look it up online and the 600w could be 150w at the wall.

My 300W mars is a like 180W draw or something of that nature I assume a 600W should be roughly 300+ if it also is the same brand I know his 1000W is a Mars so I'd assume the 600 is as well,
But I have a lot plugged into the outlet already,
A fan, a carbon filter, timer, light, and I have a control plugged in for my filter to kick on anytime it gets above 75 in the tent,
And than on the other outlit I run a small heater for when I leave the house for work at night to keep temps from varying more than 10 degrees from lights on and lights off.

Haha yeah, they brought a few of us back to work and I'm one of the lucky few they swapped my schedule around a bit but still on nights instead of doing 4 10s they got me on 5 8hr shifts till things settle.Hey baby trees!! I see you still up too!
Best investment you can make to protect your circuits is a Kill-a-watt meter. Plug everything into a power strip and then that into the meter and it will tell you your total draw. Or do one at a time and add them up. It will do watts or amps and they're not expensive.
