now thats some purple bud, enter that in the contest, sure winner, get it trimmed and enter it in the contest, what a find, i notice the leaves have not turned purple, just the buds and the bud leaves, seems strange as i thought the leaves are the 1st to turn purple, i need to figure out how this purple gene works, im getting into winter here so ill order some purple strain, herbies is selling the genuine ken estes gdp, i contacted herbie asking the source and he says its direct from ken, they would not label is a kens gdp if it was not direct from him, so ill be ordering some of them wed and give them a try, hopefully it will give me some purple buds and top shelf smoke

If you want to see some purple bud go to the eyecandy site that bucksot started there is a plant there that I could only imagine. like you have never seen atleast I can say I havent.

thats some amazing looking bud, them dry buds look so dense, im not to impressed with what i grow, the soil grown plants dont seem to be doing as good as other growers, but im not adding anything to the compost i use it strait out the bag, so i think this is a major problem and a reason why things are not how i want them, my 2ltr dwc grows seem to grow like crazy and produce great buds, i might have to switch to hydro if i cant get the soil grows sorted out, im trying a dwc after these big plants have finished, but i think im growing more plants to get enough yield, where as if i was growing dwc or hydro then i recon i could get more off one plant than im getting off all 4 of these soil grown plants

thanks guys , i love this strain, don p, the "purple gene" works different in different strains, with some like purple#1 it will turn purple regardless of temperature it is a 50/50% hybrid, in sativas the purple seems to affect the buds more, in the indicas it seems to be very much related to temps, and buds seem to change color last, that is what i have noticed anyway, but that is not set in stone ,its genetics unique things can happen so if you want purple without having to lower temps i recommend a few strains , purple#1 nearly 100% of all plants will purple like the one in my pics, i had a male that also turned purple, can be seen in my gallery and 1st journal, "sannies killing feilds purple pheno","purple power" will look very similar to p#1 but better yields i think,
indicas like gdp need low temps to bring out the color really well, the purple is the plants genetic anti freeze it attracts warmth into the plant hence the dark color, it also has a unique non typical smell and flavor i can only describe as "purple!!", Jandre2k3 knows all about what im talking bout as well as many other growers/smokers if you have not had a good purple strain you really should , do your research look up purple grow journals,

The reason some strains of marijuana turn purple is the same reason why some trees leaves turn colors in the fall, why red grapes are purple, why a blood orange is so red, why an eggplant is purple, why blueberries are blue, and why black raspberries are black. This phenomenon is caused by the occurrence of something known as anthocyanin accumulation which causes anthocyanin to build up within plants. While chlorophyll is what gives weed and plants in general their green color, anthocyanin is what makes weed purple, and carotenoid is what will make weed yellow or gold

If your plant has the genetics which make it prone to anthocyanin accumulation, you can make it turn purple by dropping the temps in the environment down below 50 degrees Fahrenheit when the light is off. Some plants will purple without such a big drop in temperatures, and for some plants it just isn't possible.
You can also experiment with nutrients from your local hydroponic supply store. They may have something that can turn any weed purple,
In the end, you need to realize that turning your weed purple won't make it any better. The reason that most purple bud is so good is because the people who have been growing pot long enough to master the trick of turning bud purple don't want to mess around growing anything but the dankest. Some strains will turn purple no matter what you do.
If you choose to try your luck at turning your plants purple, just remember several things. First, look for the purpling to occur about two weeks before you plan to harvest. This could be anywhere from about 7 to 10 weeks into the flowering stage of growth. And, with this in mind, don't do the temperature drop at night until the plant is in flowering, even a 3 to 4 weeks after. Your plant will turn purple before you intend it to, which is one of the plants signs that it is being stressed. The cold temperatures are stressful on your plant, and as a result slightly smaller yield

so guys i have a surprise today i was bringing in the house plants for winter its getting cold here, and i discovered 2 forgotten clones from this spring, remember back to the first month of this journal i had over cloned and tossed about 20 various clones, well before we moved i found 2 that had survived the compost bin for a week as a goof i stuck one in a tomato bush and another in a mint plant, lo and behold they lived and were ready to harvest today!! i had no idea they were even there in the pots growing alongside the veggies! a purple#1 shockingly pretty about 18 inches tall, funny i saw no signs of hermie either, all other clones and the mother hermied on me save for this 3rd gen clone grown outside in a pot with a tomato plant, she smells very good and purple!, and then theirs the tiniest fully mature plant i have ever seen at 4 inches, a wwxbb clone crazy frosty and wet weighs 5 grams, im thinking of entering her in potm lol as a goof shes the cutest plant ever! heres the pics

well crap! my laptop died today! 1900 $ gaming laptop lasted 2 yrs , cant find the power adapter for the other laptop the desktop is defunkt so all i have is my tablet! thank goodness i would be in fullblown withdrawels if not for my tab! waiting on ama zone for a new adapter, then begings the debate at to get a new desktop or laptop and the painstaking slecting/building process, ugh! im leaning towards a nice new desktop with all the trims big ass monitor 7.1 surround mass amounts of ram ,tons of storage dual vid cards gamer heaven! yeah thats it, antway i might not be as present as usual, then again i may be on more, but i have tons of stuff to do around the housebefore it gets much colder,so i may just use the time for that,the adapter will be here on wed, then i have to re install windows load my programs, the big bummer is i may have lost all my herb iq data i have not backed up in months , damn computers!

I picked up an Acer laptop from Buy.com for $450...Pentium P6200, 17.3"HD LCD, Intel HDgraphics, 4GB DDR3 Memory,500GB HD, DVD Super Multi DL Drive, 6 cell Li-ion battery....I set up my desktop as the wireless host and I have had absolutely no issues with this computer. That said, you described an awesome home 'puter if you decide to go that way. There are ways to recover lost data and companies that are set-up to do it.

I feel your pain replacing a dead computer for real. iMac died and a new Mini cost plenty.
Had to Bootcamp in a Windows 7, to play StarCraft.

propa!! damn good to see ya! i miss our speaks! yeah i miss a big full blown pc , for years i refused the laptop idea, but i sure loved my asus g1 gaming machine, as powerful as any desktop i ever built, i went with a portable because i had to lay in bed so much,times are better im stronger now, im thinking 32 inch monitor, quad core,liquid cooled,amd phenom ,min 8gigs ram 3-4 terrabytes storage, dual crossfire vid cards min 1gb each, blue ray burner, 3d glasses,green neon demon case, the whole shebang! its been 4 yrs sine i owned a desktop and its time to shred !!, incorporate my music studio, make killer grow vids i miss having my "command center"

I LOVE my iMac...but you just never know with electronics...I just try to back up the snot out of everything and keep my fingers crossed. I have just over 5.5 TB of media...so that's not always as easy as it sounds. Hopefully you'll be able to recover the data...keeping my fingers crossed for you too bro!

having been inundated with video games by mom with pong console at a tender age i fear gaming is ingrained on a cellular level compelled to play ,build and destroy the bleeding edge tech, the expense will be stiff but not as bad as buying pre_built machines,i have tried to satisfy with xbox,ps3 & all the bells for pure game lust its good, but my tech geekness craves stuffing my head in a box and kissing the sillicone landscape nothing satisfies like a good build my wrist grounding strap has much dust in need of removal, i will post pics of this monster when the time comes,,,now to get the $ and parts,

fortunatly i have redundant file backup for all but herb iq and movies, just lost a 2tb external a month ago now this, i am convinced my electronics are conspiring to drive me psycotic! lol seems things are diying faster than i can replace them its crap that i might lose all the genetic info i have been tracking and documenting, but upon a closer look at the g1 i think its the vid card or mother board ,so hard drive should be intact, hoping

yeah x that car was insane i was sure i was gonna die in it but i blew a rod straight in to the pavement inL.A. on the freeway at 5:30pm friday night rush hour 80mph bumber to bumper ! im pretty sure i crapped my pants!, it was so tourqey i had a hard time not leaving rubber at every light, it had a mild rv cam ppl would ask me about its lope at an idle lol thinking it needed a tune up till i put their ass in the back seat....thru the front lmao! oh the memories! oh the good times spent sitting at the beach puffin columbian talking to the beach hippies, sucks we gotta get old lol
