Sorry about the long silence broken by so many questions, I use glr and a big fan for obvious financial reasons and I'm not sure I would notice the decreasing benefits and onset of detrimental effects.

Enjoying following this journal as much as the last, love the videos, you have a soothing voice! (on the voice over anyway)

what has changed as best i can guess,that could make a difference is going from the 400watt mh to the new t5 fixture, im not finished with our glr friend but my faith a little shaken, i will do another video soon, but only a few days left of the move,, no voiceovers here ! thats me in the raw ad libbin' 'n' spit dribblin' bustin' a groove' :rofl:

honestly my tablets settings are on auto most of the shots, i do tinker with the focus switching it from auto to macro,and i use a 10x eye loupe for trich shots, and crop out the circle it creates, and i try to steady every shot by bracing the tablet/my hand against something like the scrog/a wall/my knee whatever,i stop my breathing on the exhale to steady some more, i try to use as much extra light as i can, i will open the blinds,turn on the overhead etc. that helps with shadows,
i try to get it as close to what my eyes are seeing as i can, but that rarely happens, and lastly i take alot of snaps, for every picture i post theres many i delete, i'd say the ratio is 10:1 ,& lots of angles i try to do 3 main levels my head,hip and knee
thats pretty much it i'll add anything else i can think of :thumb:

you hit the nail on the head with the black and white and colour pictures mate, my kids pictures look so good in that style, my son is in black and white but then once part is in colour and i never seen it before but when i paid for some pictures they showed me how they looked and i liked them, but i had to pay top price for them and i think if i had a decent camera and editing software i could of done is myself, i had 3 x A4 photos done and framed, and i paid £160.00 each for them, cost me lots of money, so i scanned them and handed them out to the family, but i honestly think i could of done them myself, but i paid it at the time and ended up with some very nice photos

im trying to make my own strain mate, i have got pollen off a kiwi seeds strain, unknown strain as it was a mixed bag of seeds but its one of 6 kiwi strains, and i put the pollen on my fastest growing fem plant and thats the reserva privada sour kush, so its a kiwi and sour kush strain, now the buds i put pollen on have had the pistils shrink back in to the bud, does this mean that them parts i put pollen on have pollenated and are now making seeds, all other bud sites and pistils look the same, but i put pollen on 3 bud sites on the plant and all 3 sites have got the pistils turning a brown colour and shrinking back into the bud, im thinking this is what the plant does as it no longer needs them pistils now its pollenated, maybe im wrong, but the pistils dont look the same as the rest of the plant so im hoping i have got a pregnant lady thats going to give me some very nice seeds to add to my collection

I had to take some "Decompression Time" after the whole debate, and hate in my thread, and then even more anger on my end when it spread to yours. I went to spend some time outdoors, and help a friend in his outdoor endeavor to grow his own medicine. Helped him put in a frog pond for insect control. Spent some time in the hills, collecting crystals, forging new trails through the forest and whatnot.

Now I'm back.

Interesting about GLR... I also found that when plants stall in GLR, a week or two of 18/6 or 24/0 gives them a boot to the seat, then I go back to GLR.

yup the pistils will retract and brown when pollination has happened! congrats you'll be a daddy soon lol, i would give the at least 3 weeks to finish, sometimes the caylx's will split open showing you the seeds,and hearing them rattle inside the pod sometimes will happen when you give em a little shake, good job buddy!:thumb:

funny you say you needed to decompress i was just telling spiffy tonight i was deeply in need of some decompression after this move is over! i so get ya on that one! yup my gals are on 18/6 now and growing like mad! like they were saving it up! sounds like you did some of the things i like to do, but add a few hours of killin' mofo's on call of duty ! that helps me get my pent up frustration out! primal concrete sledge and all that jazz!

thanks mate thats all i needed to hear, the plants got a while to go so the seeds should be done by the time i harvest, ill just wait till i know their done mate, im in no rush to harvest so ill wait till i can clearly see their ready then ill try and pop one out to double check before i pull the plant down, so it does look like i got my own strain on the way. thanks for confirming that mate.
is their anything i need to do with the seeds once i take them out the buds, do the seeds need drying and storing before use or can they be used as they are, im only asking as im sure i read somewhere that its best to store them in fridge as if it was the end of the season and they was resting on the ground, then taking them out the fridge is the same as the start of the next outdoor growing season so the seeds should then be ready for planting, but if i can just collect the seeds and put them in a dark tub will this be as good or do i need to keep them in the fridge

heres what i do, i like let em go a month,then after harvesting the seeds i dry them for a month then i stash them in the frige for a month, the cold simulates winter, sometimes if you dont "winter" them the germination rates will be low, so to be on the safe side i always "winter" them, when you cross strains thats what you have a "cross" not actually a new strain, to have a strain of your own in the technical and official way you need to do a full breeding routine, with several generations, trait selection,backcrossing etc it can take years to creat a true IBL strain ,i have one i have been working on for several years thats getting there ,but its a numbers game you need to be able to grow out 100's of plants at a time, and keep lots of clones , so you can flower and test for flavor,potency etc, and not have lost that particular plant in case you find a "gem" , and selecting a male can be a difficult task since you have to make the cross,then grow out the resulting seed to harvest, then test to see that males influence, if you find a gem male its very important to hang on to him,due to the extra time and work involved,
as you can see breeding is no small task, but we can surly have fun making great crosses ,an easier way to keep a certain phenotype you love is to use the colloidal silver method for fem seeds and of course cloning,
im fascinated with breeding and study it often, as i work on my strains, but i know that at this point they are just really good crosses im working with, many of the pro breeders make and sell f1 crosses and are upfront and honest about it, making no claim that a particular cross is anything more than just a great cross.

Well said, my purple brother! And F1 CROSS is by no means a new strain... it can become that, but as it stand, by itself, is unstable at best. Many generations must be selectively culled to weed out undesirable variants. It takes generations to make the cross you just made one day always produce the same plant, over and over from seed. There are several "Strains" out there that still have some bad phenotypes in them. As well, some strains have a rare phenotype in them, that if you're very lucky, you get it. Now that I have one of these "Rare" phenotypes, you can bet I will be creating seed, and back crossing, to attempt to lock this in, but if Subcool was unable to make seeds express this phenotype on a regular basis, I am doomed to fail several times, AT BEST!

Im thankful of TnB's appology, its nice that someone in power there recognised they had a problem member of staff and have restructured.

The appology and the thought that that member of staff is now likely collecting an unemployment cheque is good enough for me. i hope our (420) relationship with TnB can now rebuild over time. they have definatly taken a financial hit from this incident so im happy to forgive if not forget the whole thing.

hopefully we will see them renewing sponsorship in the future...with a member of staff that can keep their cool and is able to say 'i dont know but can ask' rather than what we had...anyway nuff said. =)

ty surf im planning some vids real soon, today is the last day of the move so big push to get it done, then i can die for a couple days,im exhaused and in a giant grip of hella pain,! but what i wanna do is rip some original face crusher riffs just for the next vids hopefully come up with a lil' theme riff that i play at the begining and end of all my vidz! why not right i have the gear and ability, just need to get thru the move i so despise moving!! lol

Don't over do it too much with the move. Be safe. Moving while in pain is very difficult. Looking forward to a post from you bro! Hope you like your new digs!

wow, didnt realise their was that much work to get a stable strain, so if i get seeds then i need to grow a male and female and get the seeds from that to test the strain for sure, but then i need to back cross to perfect the strain and to bring out the best traits in that batch of seeds, damn thats a lot of work, i dont think ill be going that far, if i like the results then ill just clone it for now,

i think i have got an ak47 cross uk cherry cheese male as well and i loved this bud when i grew it last, so ill be crossing this with something else and see what results i can get, i wont be doing any long term breeding but ill cross a few strains and see what i end up with, i wont be seeding whole plants just a couple of buds per plant, this should get me a handfull of seeds each time,
i guess i got a few weeks to go before i can harvest and collect seeds, so at least 3 weeks from pollenation is where i need to be, i wont be harvesting them buds if the seeds are not ready to collect.
