Autos v. Photos - A 5x5 No Rules Fight for Yield: A Jon & NickHardy Gig

Ah, the trifecta. Good job! :laughtwo:

Probably keep those clones isolated for a week or two and check for pests. Wonder how a pool dunk would work against undesirables? šŸ¤”
Yeah thatā€™s a pretty good idea - zero harm is what I reckon. Get rainstorms as bad as that and plants survive.

Or they become all like a ship at seaā€¦

Bit like this grow really. Waiting for it to click. I think its missing so much time with them. Just havenā€™t got a feel for it. Feel confused every time I look at them. Hopefully nature makes a decision for me. The Explode needs to kick in ASAP. Iā€™ve got two weeks or probs less to hit the Chunkening. And the light. The light.

Still at least Iā€™m not Christian Horner today šŸ¤£

It was a question on the over use of Ph down in DWC? What do you reckon? Possible?
Oh deary me. I'm no dwc dude I just tried it. But I would say the same as most of the above. What the adjuster is made of and ratio of the mix. I could possibly be guilty of this in Coco but my Dwc was pretty stable to be fair.

I can pretty much class myself as a tap water grower as I just dilute my tap with RODI then my resovoir doesn't budge

Youā€™re a regular Kelso šŸ¤£

My seeds were fast grow seeds, the Animal Mints BX1ā€™s

Paid for 2 seeds got 3 clones. With no proof they are what they say šŸ¤·šŸ½

Though saying that - it saves me a bunch of time for what I have planned.
Thatā€™s how you do clones eh? Very interesting. Thatā€™s a new one Nick. I dig that a lot. Looks real easy. No issues with light through the plastic or anything?

Day 52

Unlike Mr. Hardy, I feel no confusion with this grow and definitely ā€œhave a feel for itā€ so far.

Now if they would only stop with the vertical growth already Iā€™d be golden. Lol. Pretty soon itā€™s gonna be lowering plants instead of raising them. And the Trizkit is still not flowering. Oy. I could have worse problems though.

It is now impossible to get much of any kind of overhead shot. This is about the closest I can get. Itā€™s getting kind of crazy in there but itā€™s much more under control than it may appear in the picture. At least thatā€™s what Iā€™ll keep telling myself.

Should have read further before commenting. Got it - mailed that way. My Yoda sent me mine with the peat pellet in an open sandwich baggie and a small LED inside the box. That was it. One more day in the mail and theyā€™d have never come back. Lol.

Urgh - yuck. Look how thin the leaves are on these two giants of the Indica world!

Treated them for pests today, specifically, white fly. Its currently legal everywhere but California. Though the EU is considering it. The problem is it also kills honey bees and some natural predators of white fly. Since getting a honey bee anywhere near my plants would be considered an epic failure Iā€™m at peace with the honey bees. Plus a greater risk to life for them round here is & Co seeing a hive and getting some smoking paper lit within minutes to steal their honey. Saw her do it opposite the house in the village. Hive the size of a trash can. I sat in the truck for 2 hours when some mega swarm formed on her house.

Iā€™ve bumped the EC to 2.6 I think. Iā€™m using 2.5ml/Litre of A/B and Cal Mag. Plus Total and Bloom Explode at 1ml/L Then silic 3x the bottle recommendation because its just not as good as our regular (Jon and I previously used something else - heā€™ll know the name) just finished a grow with this stuff. The other one is too strong almost. This one is too weak at 2x maybe 3x is goldilocks. What I wouldā€™t do for just a little more vertical growth but missing a bunch of cool white right now.

Tomorrow - more lights. Going to add in 3 more mini 301lm H, the UVC and the 200w 6000k floodlight. Probably gives me about 1000w as the 1000w light is at 500w or less.

Messaged with the light company, they are sending the part on Monday. Overland. They say 7 days I say 10. Reckon Iā€™m right. Offered to pay airmail said already booked.

So they got EC, they got gas, they got warmth, they got dry - VPD is a very good 1.4 to 1.6 they just donā€™t quite have the light to pop.

Defol tomorrow. Probably the last.

Nick

You've got balls, I'll say. Trying different things from your normal in a competitive grow.

"More power!" Nick was heard muttering g under his breath...
"AZIZ LIGHT" Nick shouts across the room as azi falls asleep misdirecting the reflection.

Where's that from? šŸ¤£

You got a couple dominant giants in there. Hard to believe itā€™s Solos at the bottom, youā€™d never know looking at the top. Very nice but I feel you on the vertical growth. You could use some for sure, hopefully your lights will kick them in a bit.

The 40% MSA stuff is the GrowGenius. Comes in a tiny bottle for like $40. I use 2 drops/gallon in veg and 1 drop/gallon in flower. However, for the Cyco plants they include a silica product, although itā€™s garbage. But in the interest of using the system as prescribed the first run (gotta know what their baseline does before you start to play around with their ā€˜script, thanks @InTheShed), I did not add the 40% stuff to them. You can feel the difference in the stems for sure. The Remo girls I used it in veg only. Obviously not at all on the organics. The Remos have much firmer stems than the Cycos, surely due to using the 40% with them.

So whatā€™s your beef with honeybees? They wonā€™t hurt your plants nor attract any predators. And if you get lucky and catch one on a bud it makes a cool picture (I did once, great picture, mods gave it no love, lol). I like honeybees around my grow. Lizards too. One of them gets in the tent once in a while, and I love it. All they do is eat bugs and fuck. And if thereā€™s only one - no screwing. Just a great natural pesticide.

More power is greatā€¦..if you know how to manage and control it. With great power comes great responsibility, said Uncle Ben. Lol. Hopefully Nick doesnā€™t fry his whole grow, heā€™s already behind the 8-ball to my eyes.

Gives a whole new meaning to "bud porn."

Zero beef with honey bees. I don't want to hurt them at all! Just rationalising using a pesticide. Honey bees have no business being near my grow and I endeavour to keep them away from it. So Iā€™m declaring my grow ā€œHoney Bee Safeā€ having done a thorough risk analysis.

Nick

Brother you grow some of the best-looking weed around. :circle-of-love: šŸ‹
Thanks @KeithLemon, but like Nick said, veg for show, flower for the $. Or something to that effect, lol. Anyone can make a grow look good to this point. The hard part is from here to the end. And btw - I seem to remember a trio of outdoor BEASTS grown by you with very little experience relatively speaking that were absolutely, stunningly gorgeous. Not to mention gigantic. Iā€™ve never grown an outdoor plant anywhere near as good as those three. Psyched for this year.

And would you mind enlightening me on the ā€œriskā€ posed by a honeybee? Just curious. Kind of an odd insect to banish.

Reptiles Rule! I love ā¤ļø all of them and have been catching them since I was a little kid. Unfortunately my Mother isnā€™t a fan and beat my ass once for letting a garter snake get loose in the house. Lizards are really cool though. Theyā€™re just hard to catch. lol šŸ˜‚ CLšŸ€

Uncle Ben & Aunt Jemima are both gone now, I remember them, but now I buy elsewhere. This "World" has made me a very bitter man. I use cannabis to alleviate this "Crazy World" I see happen in front of my eyes Daily. It can be scary thinking about the real world today.

The pesticide can kill honey bees if they ingest nectar from a plant treated with it. Iā€™m giving a NickHardy Trust Guaranteeā„¢ that no honey bees will be harmed in my grow.

Its food safe. How could I not love Beeā€™s?
