Autoflower Myth Busting Thread

Will Autoflowers turn hermie easier than photo period plants?
Would a stress situation, like a light leak during dark cause the same effect on Autoflowering plants?

Yeah, one of those myths I was told by a grower last year here. (in my hometown type here) "Don't buy Auto seeds, they will hermie on you quicker than you can wink. Total waste of your money.". LOL

Just wanted to cover that base.

Interesting. Anyone else have direct experience? I've read quite a few grows here and witnessed that the grower's plant became hermie, but I don't recall ever if it was an auto. I only have the one Dark Devil growing and I really don't check it every day. Am I too lax?
 
I used to get alot of hermies with autos but only when i bought like 6 of the same beans.sometimes id get 3 hermies out of 6 which is just crap.so thats why now i always buy 3 difrent strains to grow.i buy 1 seed from 3 diffrent seed banks;) or diffrent strain same seed bank less chance of a hermie.hope this helps;):thumb::high-five:

Buying smaller packs of seeds reduces chances of a hermie? I seriously doubt that.

Just counted....I'm on my 22nd and 23rd autos (in my first year! :)) and not had a single hermie. All except one came out a 5 pack of seeds.

The only plant I have had hermie on me was a regular and I don't think it was the seeds' fault. I suspect I used too high a flow rate whilst it was a seedling then it fell over and spent a bit of a day lying on the floor.
 
Im speaking from my own experience growing autos lol what i state is actually true .is i say i dont buy anymore than 1 of the same bean anymore .i can buy 6 seeds if i wanted all from diffrent seeds bank but all through the same site.so u will buy 6 of the same .i buy 6 diffrent beans in same order and pay for shipping .jobs a peach.thats how i managed to not get hermies.before that i used to get them frequently buying 6 of the same bean;)

Being new to growing, ive heard nothing but bad (no specifics) just ppl saying "dont bother/waste of time", but with you's... Its really encouraging.
Looking at my seed purchase and seriously considering adding a free tangie auto from blissburn?(blissbum?) seeds. ..adding to my current grow.
(and very much wanting that toof decay auto)

Have any suggestions for speed, dry climate,and insomnia?

Again, amazingly wonderful job you two, thanks for sharing what you do!
 
Ok guys heres the inside dig on my newest feed achedule... anyone is welcome to try it lol... but I haven't yet I'm still on a slightly more mainline version of it but after my current run I'm running 4 White N Bubbly from Mephisto and I'll be using my latest feed and as you all know I have nothing to hide and share all of my info with you all so here it is .... my newest feed plans...

Day 1 to day 10 = plain water bubbled 24 hrs

Day 10 to day 15 = .5ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom
2ml/L - Vodoo Juice / Piranha / B52

Day 15 to day 20 = 1ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom
2ml/L - Vodoo Juice / Piranha / B52 .5ml/L - Cal/Mag

Day 20 to day 25 = 1.5ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom 1ml/L - B52 /Rhino Skin .5ml/L - Cal - Mag

Day 25 to day 30 = 1.5ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom 1ml/L - Rhino Skin / B52/ Cal - Mag

Day 30 to day 35 = 1.5ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom 1ml/L - Sensizyme / Voodoo Juice / Piranha / Bud Ignitor/ Rhino Skin / 2ml/L Cal -Mag / Bud Candy

Day 35 to day 40 = 2ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom / Cal-Mag / Bud Candy 1ml/L - / Sensizyme / Voodoo Juice / Piranha /Big Bud

Day 40 to day 45 = 2ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom / Cal-Mag / Bud Candy 1ml/L - B52 / Big Bud

Day 45 to day 60 = 2ml/L - Grow / Micro / Bloom / Overdrive/ Bud Candy / Cal - Mag 1ml/L - B52

Day 60 = full pot flush with hose 5 min...

Day 63 to finish = plain water

I do not reccomend any new growers try this feed.... new growers if planning to use AN should pick a base nutrient line and the hobbiest level nutrients for flowering and begin there and work your way up... learn how to watch your plants and how they react to nutrients before throwing that much stuff in ..... it works and it works very very well but can get tricky at times
 
hey beast i will be starting my first grow in January!! cant freakin wait, im just sittin here day and night reading thru journals and following thru journals trying to learn as much as i can about the do's and the donts. really hope to have a badass first grow after reading for about 5 months straight lol. Even tho i only have room for a 3x3 in my house atrain is the one who has inspired me to go all in cause he has a 3x3!! but glad to hear you wont mind being along for the ride.

Atrain as always awesome knowledge, time and effort put into what you do and your feeding schedule, i swear everyday you make me want to start my first run with AN nutes but plan on using the lucas formula that LEDRF uses/used.

Hey man to each there own.... it's not all about what light or what feed or what medium or any one thing to a successful grow.. it about your whole environment and having it right no matter what brand it is..... LEDRF has has some great results with that nute line.... and I Def am not telling anyone to buy advanced and especially not the grand master bundle.... it's rather expensive but I have worked my way up to it.... but I think the results shoe it has been worth it for me.... hell over 650 grams off 2 auto plants in soil.... I like it
 
Haha no doubt atrain, don't get me wrong I'm not saying you are trying to get people to buy them I'm just saying your results don't lie! Also who wouldn't want nutes that were specifically made for cannabis. I know for future grows I will give AN a trail run on the same strain as I run the lucas and see the yield, resin, and everything in all difference on a side by side to see exactly how much the line makes a difference and move forward from there with my results. That being said I will follow your feeding schedule when I do give AN a trail run, so I am very thankful you take the hard work out of it and already have it down pact for us atrain !
