I've been talking to PeeJay about our soil mix and will be maintaining my one working no-till, but will also be lightening my reserve LOS as per PeeJay's suggestions and running a pot side by side so we can see the differences. Working with the HB kit soil has begun to make me aware of possible improvements to what I'd considered a gold-standard mix.
My working no-till is a thing of beauty in my opinion, but I have learned to appreciate germinating in a lighter soil and then transplanting into the big pot. I can tell you from experience that planting as soon as possible after chopping the previous tenant of the pot is most beneficial. I've done it both ways and definitely saw a difference in planting immediately and waiting up to two weeks before planting. Do it quickly. Those root connections degrade faster than we think.
