Personally I don't like to up pot during flower unless absolutely has to be done. If it was me an I was able to I would just make sure she got feed/watered as much as she needed. Being a fabric pot u might be better to ride it out. U can grow bigger plants in the fabric then u can in plastic so u could be ok :)

is there any particular trick or strategy to transition from veg to flower ? i was thinking the last day of veg that i would go 24 hours lights on followed by 24 hours of dark then start my 12/12 cycle . i heard people say they do 36 hours of darkness then 12/12 . seems 36 is excessive and i dont understand the theory on that strategy .

I just flip em myself, i continued grow nutes for the first week of 12/12 to get some good stretch then switched to bloom formula at the start of week 2.

from what i understand is that plants sense the lenght of dark period by a hormone that rapidly degrades under light ... longer darks allow the hormones to rise in the plants so they trigger flower ... light leaks are devastating on photo plants cause it messes with their sense of season and thus with their sense of priorities ( vegging or flowering )

so to my opinion just a 24h dark will more as suffice...
there is no place on earth with day/night-triggered-bloomcycle plants that gets 24h darkness ...does that makes sense ... its where auto get their genetics cause the messed up day night cycles up north make it develop age triggered flowering known to us as Ruderalis

does the room or tent have to completely dark ? like pitch black ?
i have the tent in my bedroom , it has black out curtains on every window . i keep it dark in there 24/7. will and how can this effect my plants ?

A few small light leaks won't hurt most strains. I have pin holes (factory) I was freaking out at first but then realized it's never pitch black out. Stars, moon etc. But an big light should be avoided, hps led etc... that I find can hurt the plants. I had to switch out a timer once an screwed up the times an blasted my girls with light an all hermied.

I agree, i think she'll be fine. Just water a little more often

Cool, I've never heard that said about fabric pot.
Thank you both for easing my mind.

No problem :) an yeah typically a 3gal fabric pot should grow a plant as big as say a 5gal plastic pot. It's why I love em :) less space used for bigger plants.

Oh wow, then I could keep more plants in my tent knowing the actually difference now! honestly I thought the only benefit of these pots was to help the roots get the oxygen they needed.
I have a few Blueberry fem photos veggin in 1gal plastic pots, I had used the fabrics ones with the autos so I'm thinking now that I have this information I'm going to pot the Blueberry's up into a 2gal fabric pots instead of the 3 gal plastic ones that was planned.
How often do you normally water durning flower?

yea i have pin holes in my tent too . i was worried about natural light coming in from like you said, the moon, the stars. i should be okay then . thanms for the response .

hello everyone!

got my northern lights in veg at week 3 under a 600w mh veg bulb, theres 7 in the pictures but only 5 are getting used in my 4x4 room for scrog.

question i have is do you think another 2 weeks of veg will do? im planning of flipping them on the 12th june.

they have been fimmed, i was planning on topping the lower brances when they become alot bigger for more bud sites.

i no they will stretch during the first 2-3 weeks but do you think that will be enough to fill 80-90% of my net?

thanks and i hope everyone is happy and healthy!

A though ocurred to me while trying to absorb all the fantastic information being shared, how that happened at 6:30 am is amazing. When I see something I want to be able to go back to I am going to screen shot it and save it to an album created just for my grow tips.

Hi All, I have a quick question about potting up during flower. I've read online it's not something you should be doing. The thing is I have a og Kush auto in a 2gal fabric pot, she's day 65 but started to bud around day 45.
The soil is bone dry by day 3. By the end of the 1st day of watering she's already starting to feel lighter. I know a solid root system is something we all strive for but I'm concerned she will end up root bond long before she's finished budding.
Could I be concerned? Should I pot her up to a 3gal? Or should I just leave her alone?
She's showing no signs of a major issue yet.
Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!

She's beautifull, if it was mine I would be afraid to stress her at her stage

Since I am a mechanic and find it necessary to constantly reinvent the wheel a problem I had keeps buggin me. I'm gonna try one of those very flexible cutting boards or find a flexy but sturdy piece of plastic I can slide the root ball into and secure them while re-potting. I use the same size pot I am replacing as sort of a template in the center of the new pot, fill wit new soil around it saturate and slightly pack the soil around it, remove it and I have a hole excatly the size of the rootball. Slip her in give her a kiss and say I'm sorry for the disturbance.

4'x8' sheets of plastic board at Home Depot for $20. I redid my bath/shower with them. The plastic is roughly a 1/16" inch thick and is rigid, but flexible. Cuts easy with scissors or utility knife.

I grow in coco so I water/feed daily, in soil I only water/feed when soil is dry. 3-4 days usually

Giving my next grow a lot of thought thanks to yall. Considering going hydro in media instead of soil as I am carefully considering and weighing all the options. All the nutes I am gathering are hydro but I was told can be used for soil as well. What I am doing now is thrown together as the plants require. Armed with info and experience I feel more confident and have a much better idea of what to expect and how to deal with and hopefully stay ahead of any problems.

fabric pots will airprune your roots so rootbound is prevented however dense rootballs can get very big waterguzzlers towards late flower .

but ... omg does she looks mighty fine ... she is gonna be a big yielder imo .... im jealous .... good job sofar
