Ase's Perpetual Fun With Coco

What a great update. I couldn't agree more with you and Dobe regarding strain choice. I need at least 4 different strains to smoke and to eat due to tolerance build up and different needs at different times. This is one of many reasons I reached out for your mentorship...I saw you growing 4 different strains at once and I needed those teachings. It's nice to hear your report and know this is a realistic goal for me. Great success Ase.

It's been pretty crazy growing all these strains. A lot of ups and downs for sure but so worth it in the end.

Flowering tents looking great cant wait to see the outcome . is that the Blue dream a head taller then everyone else on the back right?

Yeah the blue dream is looking really good and is the tallest one in the back right. I Have an odd feeling I will be tying all of those branches up for support like I had to do with my Lemon Venom from my most recent harvest. It's pretty lanky but nice thick branches too.

Harvest Update

Here were the totals of all the plants
ICE - 71 grams
Jock Horror - 79 grams
Lemon Venom - 88 grams
Cinderella99 - 112 grams

That ends up being a total of 350 grams and 12.5 ounces total. Average of just over 3 ounces per plant. I can't remember what my last weigh ins were but this seems on par with those. This was my first set of girls that I only went 42 days in veg with though so I basically cut a week off their veg and got the same result which is a huge plus. It is the stickiest and smells the best out of any batch I've done so I think the quality is likely the best I've had as well. I'm going to need 4 super healthy girls and probably about 50 days in veg if I want to hit 16 ounces. Not disappointed in these results at all. Every mason jar I have is full and I now have 11 different strains of home grown bud to pick and choose from. My little home dispensary is in full effect now. Many different options for different times of day! I'm also excited that I won't have to do any of this work again for about 7 more weeks!

The best part about all this is that when you grow your own stuff you get so used to the couple strains you grew. There is huge diminishing returns when you build up a tolerance to a strain. I've seen people talking about cleansing so they can get (and feel) high again. With 11 strains, if I don't smoke the same one over and over, I can bypass that a little bit. The advantage of growing 4 different strains every time (and not cloning to have to same plants consecutive grows) and dealing with each one growing differently and needing different things has finally paid off. This was a long term goal for me so it feels good to finally get to this point.

I haven't taken a tolerance break in years and I'm still getting just as high, just need to keep smoking "high" quality cannabis lol

I usually have one once a year and it's when I go on vacation out of the country. Otherwise I probably wouldn't ever be on one either. Now with a variety of strains I don't see that ending ;). I'm going to have to start writing down all of the different effects each strains have on me onto a notecard and tape it on the jars so I can remember what they do. One of those good problems to have...

I figured you'd do it as soon as I did. I even thought that at one point when I was writing out the last post! Good luck and don't go too crazy.

Haha! Ya I wanted to do it today but I won't have time until Sat or Sunday. They are ridiculous .Yours look great!

Day 20 Flower Tent A - Day 26 Veg Tent B

Most of the veg girls are ready to start training now. I will pull down the top branches and start to let the lower branches catch up. When they do I will train them at the same height as the other ones. The only one that won't be getting trained is the Anubis. It is growing slower and showing more indica traits than the others. Typically I would still try to quadline it but I am trying something new here. I am just going to let it grow now and use some 4 way LST to train it a bit, but not as pinned down as my quadline. The leaves on it are shorter and fatter and I do think that to try and keep her at the height of the others, I am going to have to do very little training on her. Maybe this will be a solution to my always having one smaller plant every grow. Anyways all the other girls are off to the races so I'll likely start to train them tomorrow.

The flower girls just keep doing their thing. This time around I am going to begin cutting Nitrogen a bit earlier (a couple weeks) than normal just to see how they do. Just trying little twerks here and there in my schedule to see if I can keep getting that much more dialed in. Until I've tried every little thing I won't actually know how the plants react so trying little changes is always a good things for what I like to call "grower experience". All of these girls are doing pretty well but that Blue Dream is drinking at least twice the amount of the other ones. They are all starting to show a little bit of trichomes and the smell is getting strong out of this tent.

Canopy. Starting from back left and going counter clockwise - Green Crack, Super Iced Grapefruit, Crown Royale, Blue Dream.

Slightly different angle. You can see the Green Crack in the back left hasn't quite begin to bud like the others. It still is a little more light green so it's growing a little bit I don't think it will catch up to others by any means at all. Remember it's already on a boost rack.

Sideshot. Blue dream is twice the size of the front ones and Green Crack is about half the size.

I love your little booster seats there Ase. Looks like another winning tent there! Beautiful

Thanks TMD! It wouldn't be an Ase grow if one wasn't smaller and one wasn't a monster. It happens every time. The joy of growing 4 separate strains all the time but little things like a wire booster rack really helps! I've kept tabs on which plants seems to stay at the height I like with the quadlined training style and produce good yields. I think my next grow will be the one where I do those ones. Maybe I won't need a booster for that one!

Day 22 Flower Tent A - Day 28 Veg Tent B

The veg girls are on schedule and so are my flower girls. Pretty happy with both tents overall. I will be on vacation in a couple weeks which would be my normal flip date of 42 days veg so I think I am going to veg them 5-6 days longer than normal. I have someone to water the plants and they know how to mix up a batch of nutrients but my timers are really complicated. Plus I always like to know for sure that when I flip it works the first day. That usually either entails staying up later than normal or waking up earlier than normal. I can't ask that of my helper so just better to wait.

I had a few extra minutes on my hand so I took some individual photos today. Enjoy!

Anubis had some good growth. I am just bending them into place for now but she is the one I said I wasn't going to tie down. If I get a few days of growth like this in a row I might stand corrected. It'd be nice for her to catch up for sure. I still think it will be the most compact of the bunch.

Tutankhamon is pretty thick and compact as well.

BlackJack is my Nirvana strain so I am really pulling for her.

This Critical Cheese is a beast. It pulled my ties up out of the coco and was going vertical again. I just had it lightly secured so I strapped it down now but I think this one is going to be a real winner. I likely will clone this one before I flip.

Little Green Crack trying to get bigger. Kind of reminds me of the Purple Trainwreck I grew a few grows back with the way it's growing and trying so hard but not really getting anywhere.

Blue Dream is really lanky and I really need to tie her up to the roof before something falls over when the fan blows on it. I supercropped the tallest branch to make it even with the others and had to use a tie to hold it up using another branch.

Crown Royale is looking solid.

The Super Iced Grapefruit is by far my favorite of the bunch. I think it is going to end up looking like my Purple Envy did.
