Ase's Perpetual Fun With Coco

Very healthy plants Ase. Nice size as well. Should give you some nice big girls in flower.

Thanks Blaze. I should have probably flipped at 6 weeks instead of 7. I'm a little nervous that a couple might almost be too "wide". When they stretch it might get a little crazy. I'm sure it'll be fine but I want to get a routine down where I get the veg stage done in 6 weeks. These ones should be good sized so if I get great results maybe I'll just stick to what works. I've trained plants pretty hard with great results (Chemdawg last grow) but I've never trained this hard. Hoping to just keep getting better results.

Hey Ase
I just want to thank you (whilst I think of it, cos my memory is appalling these days!) for giving me the idea to use bungee cords in my tents. It's a gem! I ordered light hangers twice - but inexplicably, not enough either time. So I've got some pure 'Becky Home-Eccy' attempts to make-do. e.g. A USB cord to hang one of the exhaust fans....a LED hanging from a coat hanger.

And I read you're a fan of Great White Mycchorizae, yeah? I've been using it for transplanting and am on my 2nd jar but because I've got nothing to compare it to, I was tossing up whether to order more. Partly because I have just got some H&G Roots Excelurator (crazy expensive) and also I find the smell unpleasant BUT reading how much you rate it; I've just ordered another jar. Thanks, Ase!

Bungee cords and zipties are awesome. I use them for many things. I'm sure there is a better way to do it but they are sturdy and easy to move around. Pretty cheap as well.

For sure a fan of Great White for transplanting. I don't put it in the feeds. I put a little in the hole when I first plant a seed into the coco. The 2nd time I use it is for the transplant. I take and slowly spin the plant with my hand (holding it upside down with the root ball exposed) and then sprinkle the Great White right on the roots and then put it in the hole. That way all of the side roots on the root ball get sprinkled too. I've seen people just dump a little in the bottom of the transplant hole and call it good but I think it works better spread out. I don't use a ton either. Maybe a small spoon full at most.

H&G Roots Excelurator is crazy expensive! I was going to buy some and decided to give Rapidstart a try instead. I'd love to try H&G someday but using Rapidstart with my feed and Great White for transplant has worked out very well for me.

I went the opposite direction this time with no topping and some light lst early. I want to see what the difference is in yield.

You'll have to let me know the results or what you come up with. I'd love to do that but I can't keep my hands off of them.

Day 54 Autos - Day 47 Photos

I had forgotten that I scored this cool light that I thought would be perfect for taking pictures with. I hung it in my flower tent and never used it and forgot it was there. Today as I was sitting in my chair looking at my girls and petting the cat I saw it hanging there. Hopefully for the detail shots it helps not make everything so light green like a flash does and a little less blurry.

Onto the part people really care about, the plants. The Flower tent will actually become a flower tent in two days which will put them at 7 weeks from seed to flip. They have responded nicely. Tons of new growth and today I was pretty happy with all of them. 2 more days will be perfect and they will be very happy and healthy.

From top left counterclockwise - White Castle, Amnesiac, Jack Herer, Tangerine Dream. Little Jack has made a crazy comeback since the beginning.

The Gorilla Glue just stinks like crazy. You can tell by the smell it is going to be potent stuff. Short plant overall but Nismo and Canna got a similar result out of one of their grows with it and my plant kind of looks like one of theirs did. They harvested at day 72 so that'd only be about 3 weeks left. I don't think it will produce much but I'd be more than happy with an ounce or two. Gorilla Glue is probably one of my favorite highs. She is frosty and has tons of resin.

This Headlights is a shorter plant but way bulkier than the Gorilla Glue. She is stacking incredibly nice. I forgot to get a cola shot this time but you can see by the size of the buds she is going to stack some nice colas.

Lastly the Cherry Bomb. I am going to boost the ppms (100-150) the next feed in the P-K categories and see how they respond. I think the Cherry Bomb specifically will love it. If the buds stack on this then it is a good thing that the finish time for this girl is last. She is going to need all the space she can get if it really swells up. She really is a monster and the next few weeks should be really telling as she is out of stretch and onto stacking.

Looking awesome Ase. Proof is in the pudding with your training.

I've gotta try Gorilla Glue at some point - just not sure what photo seed to try for the closest experience. Was thinking maybe Gorilla Queen by Royal Queen.

I took all of the training stakes off today. Going to give them today and tomorrow to just grow vertical without being held down. When I flip, it gives the plant to space out the colas on it's own and my stakes won't be holding any of them back. Gorilla Glue #4 is my favorite smoke hands down. I haven't been able to find it without spending a fortune though. In the NW I know people grow it, I just have to find someone that is so I can take come cuttings or something. Anything you can do with Gorilla Glue in it is going to be awesome, I haven't met anyone who didn't like it so far. All my friends still get excited when someone brings it for a smoke session.

Day 56 Autos - Day 49 Photos

The timer has officially been set to 12/12 for the photos. The veg tent with the autos will remain 18/6. The photos were right where I wanted them to be come flip time. This phase of the grow to me was 7 weeks of things going basically exactly how I wanted. If the flower phase goes this smooth I will be very happy. Flower stage never seems to go quite as easy as veg though. Each girl is getting featured today and time to let the stretch begin. Started feeding transition nutes today.

White Castle - Ended up being the smallest and most compact (not by much but barely).
IMG_271917.JPG

Amnesiac - Seemed to take a little longer to recover from hard trainings and basically fell just slightly behind the others.
IMG_271721.JPG

Jack Herer - Made a huge comeback and was as wide as the Tangerine Dream but not quite as tall or as healthy of stems.
IMG_271620.JPG

Tangerine Dream - This thing just did well the whole time.
IMG_272114.JPG

Veg Tent - Just to get a size reference of each plant. Cherry Bomb is 2.5 feet tall and Headlights is about 15 inches. Gorilla Glue is ten inches tall.
IMG_273219.JPG

Cherry Bomb - Spitting out hairs and starting to stack. I think she is going to begin to consume a lot of water.
IMG_272317.JPG

Gorilla Glue - Stinks up the whole grow area. Just a couple weeks left on this one.
IMG_272927.JPG

Headlights - Stacking and fattening. Looking like she might really put on some good weight.

Looks amazing in there brother! That seed collection you have is also great C 99 is by far my favorite it's a great strain because it has a short flower time and still gives you a sativa high I would be happy smoking only that strain for ever!! I have one in veg and one flipped 12 days ago

Mango sapphire also flipped same day and is stretching great in transition!

Autos are looking like they haven't skipped a beat at all this entire time! :bravo: I really wish I could squeeze some of those buds and smell those terps

Nice to hear the timer has been officially switched! I will be 4 days into 12/12 when the lights come on tonight so we are only 4 days apart which is sweet!

Looking good ase!! Love ur training!! Cant wait to see the bud production on those photos!! And man that Gorilla Glue looks so damn tasty. I wouldnt care how small she is if the quality is there which it looks to be!! Keep up the great work.

Your plants are so beautiful and healthy looking, Ase!! I'm gonna try some of that training you did on my next grow (so I'll be hitting you up with some assistance if that's cool) and my fav underdog, Little Jack Herer is killing it now!:cheertwo:

Thanks man! I am really excited about the next couple years and getting to always keep trying new strains. Once I find ones I can't live without I can order more seeds or likely I have a multiple in my collection. Looking forward to the c99 as well. I love sativa highs! Your girls look great! Glad to have you along.

I'm about to start my first attempts. My set up is very similar to yours and I'm in the same region..:)
Hope you don't mind another tag along..

Welcome along Capt.! The more the merrier. I am enjoying the amount of active people on this journal so far. A good mix of the old guys that have been with me since the beginning and new people who want to learn. Being your first attempt feel free to ask any questions and if you start a journal let me know so I can subscribe to it.
