Day 41 Tangerine Dream and Purple Trainwreck/Double Berry Harvest Results

I went down to my drying tent two days ago the Purple Trainwreck was ready to be jarred up as it had dried to the point that I like them at. The Double Berry had only a couple days of drying at that point and wasn't ready yet so I let her hang by herself in the tent for a couple more days, which brings us to today. Today I went down to the drying tent and she was ready to come down too so I jarred her up as well. These were easily the two least producing plants of the bunch. I expect really nice numbers with the DTF and the GSC when I finally take them down. Needless to say I am still very happy with how these two did.

The Double Berry still has an incredible smell to it. It will be the frostiest plant of all of them for sure this round. The colas dried up and were still very dense and for as small as she was, I was impressed with how she did. 92 grams ended up being my final result with her. Very happy with that and I can't wait to try her. I'll likely let her cure for a couple weeks before I even attempt smoking her. I'm past the point where I have to try testers or smoke bud before it's actually cured. I took a quick photo of some bud with my hands all sticky just to make sure you guys got to see a random nug shot. Pretty bad picture but I typically don't do a lot of nug shots (those that follow me can attest to that) so I least I remembered!

The Purple Trainwreck did a little better than the Double Berry. I was hoping that it purpled a little more then it did and maybe if I would have left it another week or two it would have but I did get some legit purple in the bud. It's hard to see in the picture below but you can see a little of it. It's much easier to see when it's in person. Either way she ended up yielding me 116 grams. Really that means that between the two I hit 208 grams. My goal is usually to pull 448 grams per grow so theoretically each plant need to pull 112 grams or 224 for two plants and 208 is a little short of that. However, the last two plants I have for this grow are still growing and I know I will make up those 16 grams I was short from these two. I'm pretty sure I am looking at my best yield ever between all 4 of the Multi-Strain girls this grow. I'm a happy camper and will need some more mason jars!

Lastly, I decided to throw up a cola picture of the Tangerine Dream and how it is stacking. With likely 5-6 more weeks left on her, it's going to be fun to watch her fatten up. The stacking has been phenomenal.

448 ounces per grow would be very impressive lol Tangerine Dream really is a nice looking plant. Can't wait to see how fat those colas go!

Lol... edited! Grams*

I can’t wait to see how fat these things go as well. Anxious to see if the plant can hold them up or if I will need to have extra support in there.

With 4-5 weeks left, that cola is going to look like a 2 liter three way it stacked.

I’m hoping so! I dig the structure but I really still don’t have a clear picture on what she will look like at finale. Should get a lot of bulking over the next month.

Day 70 GSC and DTF, Day 43 Tangerine Dream

Today marks the 10 week mark in flower for the Multi-Strain girls. All that is left is the GSC and DTF and the DTF is starting to get just water and molasses to finish. Like @Derbybud does, I taper down the feeds towards the end and don't really do a full flush anymore. It doesn't take long for the runoff to get to below a couple hundred ppms and at that point the plant is going to look inside itself for nutrients and use anything stored up, pretty much causing the same reaction a flush would do but just over a little longer period of time. The DTF has about 25% clear and 75% cloudy and I really don't want to see amber on this one too much before I pull it. It's a sativa and I don't want to negatively effect that by letting it go a little too long. The leaves are starting to show signs of wanting to finish and I think the timing is perfect to give her pretty much just water for a 4 or 5 days and then call it good. Nice job on the genetics @Van Stank , I can already tell this strain is a keeper! Still smells like it's going to slap you around.

The GSC is going to just keep going and going. At this point I am just feeding it pretty much what the Tangerine Dream gets and she seems to be fine with it. We are at 10 weeks in flower as of now and I don't see myself pulling it down for two more weeks. Today or tomorrow I will help support the big colas she has so they don't fully bend over. She's going to enjoy having the tent all to herself once the DTF comes down in a few days.

Lastly, the Tangerine Dream just keeps getting fatter and spilling out more trichomes everywhere. Even some of the big fan leaves are starting to get trichs on them. As I keep eliminating plants in my grow area, the orange dream smell is just dominating and I love it. Also took a couple of fun pics with the 420 magazine sticker. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Looking great Ase!

I smoked a tester of my DTF taken at day 70. VERY NICE! She has some hair on her ass for sure! Liked it so much that I smoked most of the branch I cut. Glad I took a clone off her! I have another DTF girl that will be getting flipped when I harvest this one. I figure I will take it somewhere between 80-85 days.

I was looking back in your thread to see how much they had stretched after flip :

They stretched like crazy! This makes me wonder if I shouldn't flip now. If you have a couple minutes visit my thread

Your plants are all fully loaded of buds! And they seem to be strong enough not to fall down! This is a big achievement!

Gorgeous Ase!! Those 4 main towers on the tangerine are wicked! Can’t wait to see them bulk up over the next few weeks. Other ladies are stacked lovely and look great! Awesome work as always brother

They may not be falling down but they are leaning for sure! Very happy with how well the GSC and DTF have held up being the tallest ones though.

I took a look at your thread and my only question is how much vertical space do you have in your area? If you put your lights up as high as they can possibly go to the top of the plants, how many inches in between? I like to veg at least 35 days but if you don’t have quite the vertical room I do then you may want to flip them. My initial thought is tie them down a bit more to the outside of the pots and let them go one more week before flipping them.

They could stretch max 4 feet which I consider represents a lot

They could stretch max 4 feet

I updated/edited my last post if you didn’t catch it. Man you are a quick responder! Lol. Can’t hurt to just flip them and see but I think you could keep pulling them wider and keep them low. You could honestly even do this throughout stretch to make sure they don’t get too tall on you. You end up with a plant like the White Rhino I grew that you hear a few people talk about.

Looked like this....

Wow I remember that beauty! Thanks for your time. In fact a part of me also thinks I could spread them out during one more week then flip. I didn't think of keeping bending them during stretch cause I ve always grown too many crowded plants in the past. So there were a point I couldn't bend them further otherwise they would touch each other. But now with only 2 plants I ll be able to handle them easier! So I think I m sold to wait a bit more! Thanks Ase!

Yeah I'd bend the larger one out now and maybe let the smaller one just keep growing normal. If the smaller one starts to look like it could use some widening then you could do that but don't force it! I always try to let the littler ones just grow normally until I feel like they could use a bit of bending or tying down. They don't tend to stretch as much so even if you just let it do it's thing for the next week I don't think it will stretch like crazy. I bet it will be more like Double Berry I just took down. The big one needs some widening though.

I preach the method of flipping and not touching so people don't mess things up in stretch, especially if they are a very new grower but you can pin things down all through stretch if you want. It's a good way to control things if you are worried about vertical space. If stretch lasts 17 days and you keep training them for 10 or so then you'll still get about a week of vertical going on. Really there is a lot of options but I just feel like only vegging for 3.5 weeks in a 5 gallon pot hasn't given the roots enough time to develop to really get nice looking plants. I'm sure some people can pull it off but I've found about 5 weeks in veg really give a better yield without things getting out of control.

You decision to only grow two plants really has given you a lot of options but you do still want to maximize that space so I think you are on the right track with getting them a bit wider and going another week before flip.

OMG! Asesino, o_O

Edit
I’m baffled for words lol
The update pics looking amazing in there

Thanks Stu! Things are getting quite boring in my grow area and I really don't even know when I am going to start new seeds. I'm thinking of probably doing just one more grow this year and then I will be on the house hunt to hopefully buy my own house. I don't want to have to move around large plants so at some point I am going to have to hang it up for a break! Between this current grow and my next one (and that Tangerine Dream) I should have enough meds to last me for a long time.

What has been the average harvest time for the StankBerry? That will be a part of my next grow for sure. I may just dry out the one little cola I have that bent over on the DTF and use it as a tester. I don't usually do the whole tester thing but the DTF has me seriously intrigued with how the high is going to be. I so want this to be my go to strain for hiking and being outdoors.
