Ase's Multi-Strain Quadlining In Coco

Ase don't know it yet, but he is helping figure out the flowering times of the strain. Mine is running about 50 days right now....still throwing out white pistils so I know at least a couple more weeks.

Ase....don't fret that big girl brother. She is a tank and I can't see you doing anything to mess her up. You are too good of a grower, you will know what to do if something rears its ugly head. She is beautiful man!

I’m always here to help! Whatever you need from me sir I got your back! I think this DTF is going to be some killer stuff. Just happy to be a guinea pig for your genetics!

Day 20 Tangerine Dream

Not much new to report on the Multi-Strain girls so I decided to give them a few more days before another update. The Tangerine Dream however is on Day 20 and tomorrow I will defoliate her. If I don't get to it tomorrow I'll get to it the next day so either way she is close to getting a much needed haircut. She is doing so well and no signs of any issues yet. Smell just like an orange tic tac right now and you get a huge whiff of it when you open the tent. Since I usually do 4 strains in a tent it is hard to distinguish different smells because they kind of blend together. It is nice to get a single smell from a tent. I think she will continue to stretch for a couple more days but today she definitely slowed down. I feel like I got an almost perfect amount of stretch so she will be stable to pack on the buds and not floppy. Sometimes plants get too stretchy and then they pack on the weight and bend over which can be a pain. I think this one is going to be a tank and be strong the whole way.

That first pic is great. It looks like you caught her mid stretch. If she smokes as good as she is looking best make sure you are sitting when you sample.

She is a freakin tank of nature! Those upper fans look MASSIVE! Excited to see the Defoliation on her I’m sure she will love the new haircut! Just gorgeous Ase! Fantastic work!

I was sniffing my DTF today Ase and I think mine is falling into a similar category of smells as yours. I can't really pinpoint it....maybe some fuel type smell....but it has a undertone of "you better be careful if you smoke me" to her. Gonna snip a tester this weekend. She is coming up on 55 days into flower this weekend so it is a good time to try I think.

I decided on defoliation tomorrow or the next day. Likely it will be the latter as I still saw a little fresh green on the leaves. I'll make sure to take some before and after shots.

Hey Ase! I'm gonna pull up a chair here way in back and soak in some quadknowledge. I'll be taking a break from growing due to new house being built (hopefully) so it will be a while before I can try this but love the way the plants turn out! I did a ScrOG on my first grow and hated it, I probably didn't do it right but still know it's not for me! I am a die hard doc bud kit grower so it's great to see this method working well for Magoo. Can't wait for my first quad!

A good bit of info on the "little fresh green" in that update would be awesome. To help understand the wait.
I think the best way to illustrate this will be in pictures.

This was the start of stretch. The plants were growing fast but not stretching yet. Things were growing at a good steady pace
Early stretch. Once the plant start going into stretch mode you begin to see light green color on the leaves. They are starting to grow so fast that the tips and middle of the fan leaves are a normal green leaf color but as you go towards the bottom of the leaf where the stem is you can see a much lighter green color. You can also see it near where the colas are forming because the stem is growing pretty fast as well.
Mid stretch. Things are in full force and whole fan leaves can now be that light green color because it is just pumping out growth. You see that "fresh lighter green" color everywhere and the plant is just in full force stretch mode. The fresh green is basically new growth that the plant hasn't been able to store nutrients and stuff in quite yet to darken in up.
End of stretch. The plant is still stretching a bit but the light green color is noticeably going away. There might be a little bit left on some of the fan leaves and some of the colas that are still trying to make a last push to the top of the canopy but for the most part it has slowed way down. Everything is getting back to that darker green and now the plant is forming "buttons" or budsights.

Does that work for ya @JustMeds ? Good question!

Welcome aboard sir! Quadlining should work with Doc's kit as it's just a training method but I know a lot goes into doing things at certain times with the kit and training can mess around with those times. I'd love to give it a shot myself and show it off to the forums but I don't think Doc would sponsor that and I would really have a hard time spending more money just to try it out.

Magoo has been killing it with quadlining for a while and I knew it would all work out but I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see the results too. Maybe two of the biggest things on this forum are that kit and quadlining so it was great to see Magoo put both together and knock it out of the park. I guarantee you will like quadlining more than a ScrOG. Once the plants grow into that net they become hard to water and you can't move them around and it's tough to do anything in the very middle of the tent. Quadlining achieves all the same results as a ScrOG but without the screen and it adds so much more flexibility in my opinion. One of my grower friends that ScrOGs all the time saw what I was doing early on and dubbed it "the screen-less ScrOG" and it was a very accurate statement. I love it and I can't wait to see you try it as well. Just drop a link here when you get going again and good luck with the new house!

Nice illustration. Class dismissed. It's Saturday you know.
Lol! I work all week and then spend my off days catching up on the forums and trying to help out with all the #quadsquadders journals. Although I work Saturday mornings for like a half day anyways so it's not really a day off for me either way!
