Arteekay's Second Grow - Autos & Feminized - Mixed Strains

It's actually my goal to get dynasty pineapple fields into a community grow. There are 4 different phenotypes and from what I am reading in grow journals all of them are keepers! There is even a pheno (pheno D I think) that produces basically a big budsickle so sea of green growers would love it. Mom and dad both are half Kali mist so this back tossing of Kali mist genes should make for one hitter quitter type bud. It is also supposed to be one of the smelliest strains and you know how I love my terpenes! Eager to get these seedlings big enough then will cross each pheno with a colloidal silver twister. My plan is to have Fem twister beans of all my good strains so Twisted Orange, Huckleberry Twist, Pineapple Twist, Twisted Tut, and Twister Bomb are in my future!

I'd love to grow this out in a community grow if there is enough people :thumb: was just imaging the nugs from what you described and that's all I need haha

Can't remember exactly, but you guys were using a soilless mix yea? If yes, then there's your answer to the calcium deficiency. Most soilless mixes are infamous for this. Calcium gets absorbed into the mix making it unavailable to the plant. This is why most admend their soil by using dolomite lime 1tbsp per gallon of medium or hydrated lime as top dressing every 4-5weeks. Sorry if your not using a soilless mix, its getting harder and harder to keep all the journals straight lol. Hope this was helpful in some way.

+reps on the update. Everything looks awesome

Thanks Fopho. We are using a soilless mix, Sunshine #4. It already has dolomite lime but I think that's to adjust PH, no? We did add some extra perlite to our mix this time, but nothing else.

We've been feeding heavily including calmag+ at usually 5.8, our runoff tends towards 6.3 and up depending on how far along in the grow. Current plan is to go in at 5.7 and hope to make calcium a little more available before it gets locked out at above 5.8.

 Ya got me convinced. What's stopping ya from starting the community grow thread? :)

It will be hard to convince me (can't speak for rtk) that it shouldn't be a CKS Purple Kush though. I was on mb5200's thread this morning and that is one sexy plant and supposed to be great smoke too.. all that plus we have the seeds sitting here waiting to get wet

Sounds good to me. mb has me convinced as well. But I think we should try again for a white widow too, see if we can get one to pop from that package.

Jbiz head over to the Dynastygenetics website and look at Pineapple fields...

I understand the PK thing, mb has some great looking plants. I am getting the PK also for my MOTM Jan gift certificate.

Man, sooo many strains, sooo little lung capacity! :)

Pineapple fields is it, so says Shigs.

There's three of us right here, that's enough to be a community, no? :)

You asked about the noise factor. First off the noise isn't all that bad for me personally. It's a high-quality fan with a speed controller, so it's somewhat manageable for living purposes.

I don't get much company at all. If someone come in I'll just kill the fan for the duration of the visit.

Gotchya. Should have assumed you had a speed controller, that'll make all the difference.

Still having issues with the site?

Feb 21 Update. JH, CR, and NEM are 53 days old. DD is 42 days old. CR is 4 days since her flip to 12/12.

CR is on 12/12 15 inches below the Spider x4, Temp is 74 and RH is 58% at the canopy, 73 and 61% at the top where Britney continues to dry. Overnight was 68 and 58%

Temp for JH, NEM and DD peaked at 86 today with RH at 37% during lights on, and 69 and 51% overnight. They are on an 18/6 schedule and are 15-16 inches below a pair of Mars II 900s.

Jaybiz did some reconfig in his tent to bring our original CFL fixture back in for his vegetables. We're going to wait until Brit is out to actually use it, don't want to increase our load on this circuit until we get rid of the humidifier.

Otherwise not a lot to do with them today. I'm starting to think about how I'm going to support New Early Miss now that she's getting heavy on top. Project for next week.

Jack Herer took longer to bounce back from being underwatered, she's fine now but still droopy in her pics tonight.

I think I'm most impressed with the monster stalks you two grow. Man, I keep going back and looking at them. They'd support monster colas. Geez, I should be watching you two closer. Nice structure in the training. Mighty impressed.

I love the fact that all you Dark Devil Auto growers can grow circles around me. :laughtwo: That is one gorgeous specimen. I hope she goes really dark and dense on you. She's certainly got the time.

I know ss#4 already comes with some added amendment's, but from what you described it happened a few weeks into flower this time and last. Made me think it has probably been used up. I've never used SS#4, but I know soilless mixes absorb calcium like mad. Its just one of the cons of soilless. It gets absorbed in the coco fiber. Or that's what I took from all the reviews and reading
material I found on the subject. Calcium deficiency was the most common. Even when given 4 times the recommended dosages of cal/mag. This could of been on real heavy feeders though I dunno. Epsom salt helps in the uptake of calcium as well. Has no calcium itself(magnesium)

Dolomite Lime is calcium magnesium carbonate

In fairness, it's all autoflower stalks you're seeing right now, not sure if they are generally more monstrous than photos or if we can take any credit for them at all. I do keep them dancing pretty heavily right from sprout to try to thicken up the stalks to later support nugs. :)

I think I've got at least another three or four weeks for this Dark Devil, and it'll be too short no matter how long it is. I just love her. May have to sprout a new one sooner than I'd originally planned.

As for growing circles around you, can't imagine that'll hold for much longer, if it was ever even true, with all the tech you got from MOTY and the incredible amount of traffic on your journal.

:high-five:

As a newbie, I didn't get to experience your past grow(s) with ya. I won't be so unlucky this time.

Hehehe, thanks Fopho, I could have looked that up but didn't. Easier to let you do my research for me. :)

Kidding of course. :adore:

Last time is a bit of an unfair comparison for this medium, since we were on the cold concrete. I knew LEDs are common as well for requiring additional Calcium, but really figured our tap water and full strength calmag+ would cover it. It's pretty light (thank god) and I'm not going to worry about it for this grow other than playing with our PH to see if that'll help or hurt.

Next grow is going to be in Doc's kit, so we'll have to retrain a bit for that over this SS #4.

Yummy! That just looks good enough to eat.

I think you two will do well with the kit. You've figured out bottles and the kit is a major improvement in yield, appearance (yeah, think of that in respect to the beauties you've grown), resin production and terpene expression.

Of course, have you seen what PeeJay's soil is pumping out all over the site? Yeah. I almost went with that mix. Well worth the look see if you haven't pulled the trigger. .....says the woman happily growing with the kit.

  • DD was soaked with 6L of 75% strength DNF Bloom A+B and 75% calmag+ at 699ppm and 5.7 PH
  • JH was soaked with 6L of full strength DNF Bloom A+B and 75% calmag+ at 879ppm and 5.7 PH
  • CE was soaked with 7L of full strength DNF Gro A+B and calmag+ at 951ppm and 5.7 PH.

I decided not to water NEM tonight, but now that I'm journalling and updating our spreadsheet I think that's the wrong decision. I'll probably go pull her out right after I finish this entry.

JH was droppy again and I got a little concerned, until I picked her up. Didn't expect her to get 7 pounds lighter in a day. She's already perked right back up after watering.

So really, every one is getting watered today.

Good morning RTK great looking journal
I really like how you weigh your pots with your plants to see how much water they have consumed, when I figured out why you were doing it, I had to say "DOH" in my best Homer Simpson impersonation. I may have to start doing that myself, I can see where that would really simplify the whole when to water question.

Keep up the great work my friend

Sorry for the double post, for anyone actually still following my first journal, which is now complete with final weights. :yahoo:

Vial 2 - CH9 - Toxic Blue 33 - x2 (Fem)
Vial 3 - CH9 - Pow 33 - x2 (Fem)

Thank you Haze.io for this packed prize package and sponsoring this incredible site!

Quick question, how would you pull her apart?

First auto grow, she is topped but I've never seen a plant pull her stems in post snip.

That is a bad ass prize pack. You two work hard on your journal's so its well deserved.

Cheers
