Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Strains

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

I haven't read your journal in few days and the changes your girls have gone since I last visited your journal is amazing. They are so beautiful. You might have told this already but what is your light cycle now and what is the finishing time the seed producer is predicting?

Thank you so much Kirupiru, I think they look pretty good for a first grow. Such an amazing plant, I finally understand the old saying "about as fun as watching grass grow". I used to think it meant boring.

We started at 20/4 when we were on cfl, when we got the spider we dropped it to 18/6 and it stayed when we swapped to the two new 900w lights. I'm going to grab two new timers, one for the veg tent we still need to setup and a second one for this tent. Then I'll go back down to a 20/4 schedule with the schedule for the second light skewed by two hours. Give 'em a little sunrise/sunset simulation.

I know I don't need to do anything but 24/0 except when flowering photoperiod strains, but I'm ok with losing a little growth to give them a cool nighttime and bring out some colors.

We at first assumed it'd be right around now that we'd be harvesting the first bunch, as it'll be 7 weeks from sprout tomorrow night for the 2 Candy Cane and 2 Northern Lights. CC is a 7 week and NL is a 8 week strain as listed on Crop King Seed's site. I think it'll be a little longer for sure, just starting to see them build up a little frost on the more mature of the four.

We'll definitely be looking for input on when we should harvest, once that time comes.

I have this little thing where I must give people advises even if I'm not so educated in that particular subject. So here I go again. :sorry:

I do not accept your apology. Please advise me on anything that you are willing to type out, as I strongly value your opinion and thoughts. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:thanks: and :circle-of-love:

I think that purple color in droopy might be genetic or it might even be temperatures or it might be root problems. You got a happy looking bunch of girls except for droopy. To me she has been looking little sad for a while now. It is strange she just looks the same. Not better or worse just the same old droopy. I might be over thinking here.

I know this may not be the best of my ideas but in your situation I would check the roots. Just lift your girl carefully out of her pot if you can and see whats going on. If you want to get even more daring you could squeeze some liquid out of your medium and check pH and EC.

She's been a sad girl right from germination. When we first started seeing the change in color I was convinced it was red or brown, and looks terrible under the leds without the method 7 glasses, which I only bother to put on part of the time now.

Under normal lighting I've grown to quite like the color now, and she's stood up quite a bit since her flush on Sunday and really feels to me like she's turned a corner finally. So we've decided not to worry about it at all and just keep going and see what she does. I'll be very curious to see what her roots look like, along with all the rest. It'll be a lot of pictures being posted on that day.

Nice looking :nicethread:

Thanks guys, truly appreciated!

I'm going to be all over your DWC threads soon Vlad.

Tonight's my last night with them until Boxing day. Erg.

Candi (our tall supercropped Candy Cane) needed a bath and meal, got 95% stength DNF Bloom A+B and Calmag+ at 910ppm and 5.7 PH.

Family:

Up first is Rev (37 days), who grew two inches and is now 16 inches high:

Brit (40 days), grew an inch and is bushing up like mad:

She's got some roots coming up out of the ground on us:

Trudy (48 days):

Droopy (48 days):

Tall NL (48 days):

Candi (48 days):

Here's a series of pics I've been collecting since last Friday, one pic a day.

Our Revolver has two separate double tops. Not sure I've seen pictures of it elsewhere yet. Common?

The second one I didn't take pictures of, but it's a bit less together than the one pictured. One side is higher and they V out from each other.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Candi, you better get it together and make your daddy proud! Droopy, cheer up and bud up. Arteekay, you are a great story teller. It makes it fun to follow your journal

Thanks so much MzSiroz. I've been away from my girls and the community for two nights over Christmas, and I missed both more than i care to admit.

New post and pics coming later tonight. Quite a change in only a couple days.

Hope everyone's holiday was epic and awesome!

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Good evening all!

On Dec 24, Rev and brit got full strength DNF Gro A+B and Calmag+ at 860ppm and 5.8 PH.

On Dec 25, Tudy and Candi got full strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength Calmag+ at 880ppm and 5.8 PH.

Here's some pics JayBizzle grabbed for us on Christmas day:

I missed these days as I was away with family and net access was frowned upon.

But got home this afternoon and finally got to see my girls again. WOW. It's truly mind blowning home much they change day over day.

Next post after I do a little work work for a change.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

Ah screw it, I'd rather post than work, ANY day.

:circle-of-love:

So this afternoon, both Rev and the unnamed tall Northern Lights both needed some food and water.

Rev got full strength DNF Gro A+B and Calmag+ at 900ppm and 5.8 PH.
TallNL got full strength DNF Bloom A+B and half strength Calmag+ at 880ppm and 5.8 PH.

Family pics:

Candi (51 days from sprout, 27.5 inches) grew another inch and a half since I last posted their heights, but is stacking bud like crazy. She's my biggest surprise on opening the tent. She appears to have loved the supercropping:

Up next is the tall Northern Lights (51 days, 22.5 inches) grew 4 inches, and I can't get over how thick with bud she is getting. I'm guessing she'll be our first to harvest:

Frakkin HAIR in every shot. We gotta get better at not carrying it in with us. I'm betting most is off our clothing and is passed when we brush against them.

Up Next is Droopy (51 days, 16 inches) she only grew by a quarter inch. She's putting on bud, but is so short she looks to be our smallest yielder from the first four:

Britney (43 days, 17 inches) and Rev (40 days, 17.5 inches) both are stretching nicely and are looking great. I honestly not sure which one this is at the moment, and it looks like I missed pics on the other one:

Trudy (51 days, 19 inches) also grew 4 inches since i last posted her height. SHe's just gorgeous to me:

Thinking we're going to have a tough time deciding how long to flush before harvest, and how to figure out when to start based on how long we want to flush for. Having never witnessed a grow or harvest, we're a little worried about it. Don't wanna harvest too soon and waste a portion of all the work we've put in, but don't want to wait too long and end up with couchlock from everything we grew.

We'll need to do better than the tiny 20 dollar lighted microscope we have. Neither of us has the eyesight to really check them out. We'll probably be looking into a USB based one that we can then use on my Surface Pro 3.

I know what you mean MzSiroz, getting seeds in the mail is like Christmas every time.. wait, it's better than Christmas, I didn't get any seeds in my stocking! What the hell?!?!?! :)

Re: Arteekay's First Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Str

Hi, in my first grow I drove myself crazy trying to time from the minute the seeds got wet through flushing and dark period at the end. Not that I am a pro at all. I am just finishing my 5th grow. Over the 5 grows with various seeds I find that from beginning of germination to rooting in and starting veg cycle, there is a lot of variability as far as progress among seeds/seedlings. So, for me, I find it most helpful to judge by progress. ie., if one seed germinates faster, she goes into a starter cube for rooting faster. If a seedling roots in faster, she goes into veg sooner. Once veg begins, I veg until the the ScrOG screen inferior surface is full, then flip the switch to 12/12 for flowering. The flowering cycle is precisely time monitored, 8 weeks and 1 week flush (in hydro).

In my current grow, both are white widow, but one got 6 days more veg waiting on her sister, 38 days vs. 32 days. They are getting precisely the same flower regimen. This works for me and I am not going crazy with calendars and worrying about one vs the other with respect to time.

Feeling you on that front! Been going through the same thing and think I definitely chose the cautious route and started flushing early.
In terms of the trichomes, I think I will wait to see a few ambers on the top of the topmost buds and hope that this means that the rest of it is at its peak, or with a low percentage of couchlock bud at the least.

Love the double head on revolver, maybe they will grow conjoined colas :)

Agree with you on Trudy, she's looking mighty fine, love the range of colours in her photos.

Re: Arteekay's 1st Grow - Sunshine #4 - Spider x 4 - Crop King Autoflowering Mix Stra

My local grow store says no ferts past day 36 of flower. Or starting week 6 of flower H2O only. My leaves went fast. I saw all kinds of nutrient deficiencies like all mobile ' went first, yellow spots, then leaves some went P with rust spots, crazy. Saw Mg and Ca. But buds are crazy fat and colorful. By end of week 7 (wensday) leaves are falling off like crazy. I'm cutting on the 30th.
