Arctic Bowl's 1st Ever Attempt At A Grow Journal

Yes your first grow was a success, now you can work on your next one with a goal of increasing yield. This really is a life long learning proccess. Cheers!

Well we Jared up our last photoperiod Purple Kush tonight, not much in the yield department but we had some issues with humidity that kicked our butt. We " think" we have that problem solved now but we're going to do some dry run testing to ensure we have it solved. We ended up with 4 quart jars of Purple Kush, nothing to brag about by any means but the trics look pretty awesome even though she had a piss poor environment. She was a picky one from start to finish but part of that was our inexperience as well as our environment issue. We want to try these again and see if we can't do better with them another time.

We have learned sooooooooo much with this first grow and owe a huge debt of gradatude to everyone that gave us help along the way and to those who post little tips and tricks in journals we have read. We are so blessed to have met you all. We made plenty of mistakes, asked tons of questions and will make more mistakes and ask tons more questions. Special thanks to our Guardian Angle SUE, for anyone that hasn't visited one of sweet sue journals you should. You won't meet a more dedicated person helping members out!!!! Many of the folks that post in her journals have some killer journals as well. Birdie, Nis and canna, dirt, farmer, RTK, AK, and many others we owe you all. Thank you for putting up with all our questions and our digital handicap, we try but, we also know most of this computer stuff is just out of our league. Maybe one day we will get it but not sure on that one.

Update on Mrs. Progress; nerve where tumor was removed is slow healing. The cream we made is 100% helpful and would recommend it to everyone. The caps we made are 100% helpful allowing her to sleep thru the night, which she couldn't do prior. Progress is key with nerves, they are slow motion healers and get aggravated easily. Things are getting better and better as time goes on.

Our next grow will be with Doc Buds Kit so all you kit growers get ready to be asked a shit ton of questions :-)

Blessed Buds our friends and be well :passitleft:

Much love to you all

Your first grow is a success and remember this is a life long journey we're on. "Intelligence is not knowing but asking, ignorance is not knowing and not asking" good luck in all you do. :)

Thank you pennywise, we are on our journey and are enjoying the ride. We have much to learn but we are imbracing the education that is coming. We have made mistakes and will no doubt be making many more with future grows but as long as we continue being educated from the pros here, one day we will stand on our own feet and make many less mistakes. We have zero regrets and welcome positive and negative comments because we will learn from them all and we know that we are not perfect. Our hope is to get better and better with each grow making less mistakes as we go along.

We would like to do a " lessons learned" and still may but holly cow that's a lot of typing  when you start off knowing so little it's a book not a post.

Green Crack Update:

We enlisted one of our friends that has smoked for years to be our own personal tester. Win win deal :-)

The weed was cured 15 days at test time, the results were, " very smooth smoke and a great high" the bud was washed, hung in our small tent with lights on for 24 hrs, then hung 3 more days with lights off. Buds were then cut from the branchs and placed into quart mason jars. Jars opened daily for the 15 days for 30 min or so, twice daily the first few days until the humidity got down to around 60% constant. We did set aside a few unwashed buds that will be tested in the next day or so and compared to the washed bud. Just want to know if it's noticeable or not. Our tester knows nothing of our processes so it will be just another test as far as they will know anyway. We are looking forward to this test result and we will update as soon as we get the results.

Had to borrow my Mrs iPad to type, mine is old an acting an ass on the site not letting me type.

Blessed Buds our friends and be well :passitleft:

:hugs: all well I see, I am happy smoke was good.:bravo: :hugs:

Thank you Birdie :-), hoping for better results on our next run. Did get the 1st report back on unwashed green crack. Was about what I expected with one exception. Report was " bit harsher than last test, bit better buzz". Our tester will do 2 more test side by side, hit of washed, hit of unwashed the next two days and we will see if the initial report remains the same or not. I wasn't expecting the buzz to be any different between washed or unwashed but was expecting the unwashed to be a bit harsher. We have looked at the buds under the scope and truely can not see any difference in the amount or quality of the trics between washed or unwashed buds so the buzz we were thinking should have been the same or very very close. Anyone else have any results like these???

I have read from one other long-term member of 420 that he noticed trics in the bottom of the wash bucket and quit washing. I really am looking forward to your taster's results, as I forgot to wash my Auto Diesel Berry buds before drying them. The one plant gave me a full 1-quart mason jar full of big buds.

HOWEVER:

IMO, if one is using only natural nutes and bug treatments, washing may be unnecessary. I've got a compromise. I do a couple of plain-water foliar sprays the week before harvest, and after the last time I treat for mites. I spray good under and on top of the leaves, and spray down the branches. It does clean the ladies up for the final harvest.

So, my Frosty Friend, try anything that makes sense to you. We grow WEEDS. They WILL adapt to whatever evil experiments we perform on them! :thumb:
