Arctic Bowl's 1st Ever Attempt At A Grow Journal

Hi everybody.
Arctic Bowl has some serious technical problems and can't post on this site. he can however write PM's with no problem what so ever.

He has no problems with his internet connection and would like to apologize for not being able to visit anybody.
I have already written to the admins about the problem.

:circle-of-love:
He wishes blessed buds to you all :thanks:

So here is a few pics of how one of the shops up here packages its retail bud and what it looks like inside.

I'd rather be able to at least look at the buds we are buying

Buds are very flat and compacted as if they were vacume packed flat then some air allowed back into the package, no visible frosty goodness that we could see with the naked eye.

Blessed Buds our friends :circle-of-love:

That's the way it is in WAshington now too. When we still had med dispensaries all the bud was loose in jars and you could smell as much as you wanted, just not touch. You could even select the buds. And because they were grown in co-ops and not commercial farms it was better stuff handled in smaller batches. Some of the packages at rec stores look pre-ground they were so mashed.

But let's celebrate the step forward of legalization, and be thankful that we have something better! :Namaste:

Personally I think it's possible to get a better product from a small grower, since we baby every plant, every bud. We can present the buds in whatever way our charges want: trimmed, untrimmed, pressed, powdered or sugar leaf for joints or edibles.

But the price of $21 a gram at the shops is not unreasonable, when you consider the huge costs involved in getting a sellable crop from seed.

Don't worry I posted about it. Hopefully it will be fixed soon :hugs: to you both

Well where to start lol. Hello all, sorry for not being able to post in bit. Now that it seems we can post I'll get some pics today an try an post them tonight. We've harvested one green crack an have it drying and seems to be a nice yield for us. Nothing over the top like some of you pros get but nice for our skill level :-) have to say it feels good to be able to post, at least for now. Not sure what the heck the isuue was/is but we are happy it's allowing us to type a post. We will get around and see everyone and TRY to catch up. Lol actually missed being able to get around the site and see all your grows and say hello.

Blessed Buds our friends and be well. :passitleft:

Hey everyone sorry for the delay. We got roped into installing a heating system for a friend of ours daughter that is building a new house. Anyways, here is a couple pictures of the green crack hanging :-)

It is now in mason jars and we ended up with 7 and about 1/4 quart mason jars. The cure is on so we're hoping in a few weeks it's ready for at least a test run :thumb:

We have two more green crack photoperiod girls that are ready for harvest and one purple Kush that's just days from being ready. Lol so lots of grow room time coming this weekend but it's well worth it so we will suffer through it

Smoke report will be coming in about a week and a half :smokin2:

Blessed buds our friends and be well, we will leave this here to get the party started :passitleft: :volcano-smiley: :cco:

Thank you AK, we were just over at your place :-), you have been busy in your garden. We think it's awesome your doing the collection, maybe one day we can give it a try but we're still to new to all this and not comfortable in that area yet. We have learned a lot with all the help we have gotten but we have plenty more to learn still. Our next grow will be in the HB kit soil and it's got us nervous as hell.

Blessed Buds our friend and be well :passitleft:

Good evening all, we harvested our last two Green Crack photoperiod girls today and got them hanging. Looks like it will be a fair amount as far as yield goes. Nothing like you pros rake in but for us rookies I think we did pretty darn good of course that's with all the awesome help from everyone on this site. We thank you all very much for putting up with all the questions we have and being patient with us :-). We have are Purple Kush photoperiod girl left to harvest, we are hoping it says it's ready later this week but that's just our hopes :thumb:

Not sure what we will end up with weight wise but a few oz from each plant would be just fine :cheertwo: the Purple Kush we are not so sure about, she was fussy her entire time and never really made any big colas. We chalk that up to our inexperience growing so we would like to try them again one day after we get more grows under our belts.

Blessed Buds our friends and be well. Anyone for a little green crack :passitleft:

Be of good cheer! You got a GREAT harvest! Not all strains have big colas. Sativas, for example, have scattered bunches of airy flowers all over the plant. A plant that has been pinched back and trained throughout veg will have many, smaller colas, or just clumps of bud, with a total yield a good percentage above letting the plant do its own thing without training indoors.

You're an inspiration! Keep growing, AB! :thumb:

We thank you for the kind words!! Being new to all this gets a bit intimidating, it would be awesome to have mentors everyday kicking us in the butt to make sure your doing shit right. Not all think things look very good, wish those folks would have been chiming in before harvest lol. Little late to try to fix something when it's time to kill them off.

I doubt that the potency has been affected by the training. Growers need to train them if they have space restrictions. Small or big doesn't matter. Genetics and environment DO, however. There was nothing to warn you about. We all learn by doing, and try to follow what the plants tell us they need.

There is no absolutley correct way to grow, considering where you live and the conditions your plants have to adapt to. And adapt they will!

For your first grow, you did an AWESOME JOB!
