Another Tabletop Crop: Carmen's Spring Grow With Vipar Spectra XS 1500 Pro

Thank you both. None of the ten seeds from @Canuk Seeds have germinated. Two cracked and one shows the start of a tail that hasn't grown in a week. I'm leaving them in the shot glass for another two days and that's it.
I'm having problems with a batch of Amnesia Trance seeds at the moment. Sometimes you just get a bad batch of seed.

The birds have started chirping. Soon I'll be able to go and take some pics of RR2. I went out earlier and removed a snail from one of the colas 😬 Today is the day I go and buy some eco friendly snail bait.

These are my replacements that won't germ. I don't know if @NickHardy might be onto something with airport scanners. Why would they nuke stuff from Canada but not elsewhere though? It seems too inconsistent for that. Amnesia Trance sounds yummy!

They do it to keep bugs & viruses out of the country. Most imported fruits & vegetables are irradiated. It also keeps things like potatoes & other root vegetables from sprouting, in storage

Why wouldn't this apply to all seeds coming into the country? Why only the Canadian? Are those outgoing scanners perhaps?

This is the RR2 plant outside. After plucking a small one, I saw two large snails making their way onto the leaves too. Snail bait to the rescue!

The contrasting colours are beautiful 💚💚

As far as I understand it irradiation is handled by the country receiving the goods, according to their own regulations.
The regulations here are pretty strict.
According to what I just read on the Canadian gov't site some countries use irradiation to sterilize packages as well.

Snail and slug bait is a chemical, iron something-or-other, added to pellets for slugs and snails to eat.
We had some in our garage until a mouse chewed it's way into the bag and ate all of it over the winter.
A bowl of beer works too, but attracts other animals and insects.
We tried it one year. It killed a bunch of slugs, but I saw a skunk drinking from the bowl one morning.

Highya Carmen,

Don't you just love it when the trichomes turn color!! Very pretty! I had a Grand Mommy Purple turn the trichomes a deep purple. In the sun, they were beautiful, just like yours are!! Happy Smokin'

Thank you, it has been a fair breeze by comparison to the last couple :)

Yes, iron. This is plain iron. You also get Metaldehyde which is a poison and I won't use that.

Great idea. I'm not sure it would adhere to the cloth though. I don't have a problem using the iron pellets. Is there a reason I should do you think? Where do you get copper tape from?

Its pretty sticky stuff .
EBay sells it just type in copper tape .
So long as the pellets aren't sitting in your pot I don't see any issues if you don't have pets that may eat it

I found some copper tape online. I really think the iron pellets are pretty harmless. This is what the box says:
"Because the active ingredient is a compound found naturally in the soil, and the percentage of active ingredient applied in these crops is far less than the limited daily dietary intake, the Department of Health indicated that there in no need for an MRL."
I bring seeds into Canada all the time. I've had the odd one here and there not pop, but for the most part they grow fine.
Curiouser and curiouser...
