Another Tabletop Crop: Carmen's Spring Grow With Vipar Spectra XS 1500 Pro

She's loving it, I mentioned to Canuk that the outdoor season is ready for me they didn't seem interested in an outdoor grow yet just indoors.
Im tempted to try some auto's, I might try a few next year and see if I can get 3 outdoor grows in
I'd encourage you to try the autos for sure. I think they are super if they flourish, and if they are runts, they can be happy doing their own thing while you grow more plants. Yield can be good. I don't think that breeder pack estimates are very accurate when it comes to timing in my experience. They suggest a quicker turnover than is usual I have found. I will get 3 grows in between June '23 and Feb '24, so that is about a 4 month cycle for each grow.

I just have to get my head around the idea of spending money on seeds I can't clone and are a one use item .🙂

I hear you. You don't want to lose money and it is a gamble to get them through Customs. However, the benefits outweigh the risks imo.
I mean.... she is loving life. Love me some vitamin D

Big barrier for entry for me, too. Breeding and cloning are part of the fun!

I think (Thanks Mel!) you’d get 25% Fem 50% Reg and 25% Auto
That would be the f2 generation, the f1 of an auto and a photo are 100% photo, unless the photo has some auto in its background.
Making fast bud seeds !?
I've grown a couple of those. They're a bit hit or miss in my experience. Both produced well, and the bud was good, but both started flowering later than the straight photos, and they took about as long as them in the end.

I feel the same way about Auto’s and the only two I grew were Pygmy plants. But I also have seen some members who grow incredible plants. CL🍀

Looking good in here Carmen! I've been through every page, some interesting conversations for sure. Love those plants, and they appear to be loving you.
Hi Lady Cannafan, thank you very much for taking the time to read my journal. I appreciate that enormously. Thank you too for the love re my plants!
I find the conversation here so creative and inspiring. We have awesome members at 420 Mag :circle-of-love:

Looks like RR1 wanted the table to itself and RR2 wanted the warmth of the sun...winning!

And what of the Blueberry auto?
Blueberry auto was a goner before it was planted I reckon. Sadly, no life has emerged from the soil in that pot.

RR1 will not be alone for long. I have put a Chocodope auto, and one of the Northern Lights x Big Bud seeds into paper towel. The Chocodope is long flowering and could go until February. The Northern Lights x Big Bud is said to got up to 90 days, so lets add a week or two and it could be ready at about the same time.

Woops I've just found an error in my calculations. I will have to start a second Northern Lights x Big Bud now too and run both of those indoors with the RR1. I will have to move the chocodope outside when it is big enough to withstand pests... I better remember to buy snail bait (It's an organic one)!!!

When I have sprouts I will start a journal dedicated to the Canuk grow.

Red Russian XXL auto 1 had a big growth spurt overnight and has more or less filled the pot.

Red Russian XXL auto 2 has no space between bud sites, and two apical branches that will not bend to a training hook. It's going to be interesting to see this one flower. I had a similar situation with the last one I grew as a quad.

My tabletop grow. I have plenty of space to start the Canuk grow. I must just decide when is going to be the best time for that. I reckon I can grow them for a month before they will need the main lights, so I must work backwards from expected harvest date for RR2 by about a month.

I did not expect to find such a beautiful, fresh and elegant plant in the house! Most see them in the tent.

It's just past 4.20 and I've had a few bowls already. I can't sleep so here I am :)

I thought RR1 was getting taller but it's an illusion. I got out the tape measure and the distance from soil to tip of tallest leaf is 11 inches / 28 cm, when yesterday I measured it as 11.5 inches 🤔. Now it can't have got shorter so it must be that the soil shifted when I watered. Anyway, the point is the plant is no taller, but it is flourishing.

Here it is

and here is RR2

I keep looking at RR2 thinking I wish I had the heart to cull it. Honestly, the cost of the running the light to flower this plant is ludicrous. I am considering my options. I could start a single Canuk seed now and when this grow is coming to an end, start 2 more. Or, I could cull this plant and start my Canuk grow now. It's an utter waste of electricity I feel. Outside it would just be a bug magnet and raise security and privacy concerns. Decisions, decisions. Suggestions?
Build another house for RR2.lol
I will always remember @Scientific's patio grow from 2017:

His upstairs neighbor looked right down on his plants and never knew what they were!
I almost thought she'd blossomed like the pink flowers😂

My RR2 agrees that out in the sun is a great place to be. Look how her leaves are reaching up to the sky now. They were clawed and downward facing inside the house. I'm almost tempted to get some more plants outside now

And look how happy my RR1 is under the @ViparSpectra XS 1500 pro, also praying to the source. She is stretching visibly each day.

Maybe I can add to the Canuk grow and compare outdoor and tabletop, since nobody else has selected to grow the Northern Lights x Big Bud autos 🤔.
Haha, both RR1 & RR2 are happy.

Thank you very much Val. There is lovely new growth each day as the plant stretches. I'm thoroughly enjoying this grow, without the complications of the swick or the hot soil I used previously.
I am going to start teaching local people how to grow. I am encouraging people to try tabletop growing if they don't want to spend a lot of money on a dialed in tent setup, or if they don't have the outdoor space. It's a very doable alternative. People can then graduate to tents if and when.

They are and that makes me happy :)

An update video on RR1 on the tabletop with 🐈‍⬛

RR2, pistils starting to turn already. Ridiculous. They don't look burnt do they? At first I thought they might be sunburnt but they look golden like honey on the tips. RR2 has been in flower for close to 3 weeks.

Highya Carmen,

Love those canna movies!! Very nice looking ladies. You do well without all the apparatus. I like that! Lavender looks nice too! Happy Smokin'
