Another Brix In The Wall: Sweet Pink Stink & Coked Out Girl Scout

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

....Here is a very typical water /feed schedule for using the "kit" properly in veg. and bloom! GE Drench W/Tea.......Water with1/4 Trans (could be straight water too)....Water with 1/4 Trans (could be straight water too)......Transplant Drench with Tea......Water with 1/4 Trans (could be straight water too)......Water with 1/4 Trans(could be straight water too).....GE Drench with Tea......Repeat....Repeat! Remember people , the last thing we want is a build up of salts in our soil , so if you are giving all that Transplant every single time you water ,...imagine by the third run of this soil ...just how much you will have added....too much...get it! Now there are obvious variations on this as different growers will have their own methods of tweaking the Kit but this is how i've done it (with changes every once and a while...call it the Ziggs syndrome...:thumb:) for almost four years now. As far as the sprays go....you have to be careful with them as they can have dramatic effects. Only spray Brix (with wayAx10 too) every week to 10 days and only spray Destress when they are stressed, period and never on the same day as Destress. The only time i use the Destress is during the first two months of life , when i'm doing all kinds of LSTing , SC'ing and topping...or if any other stress enters the picture. You just don't need it if all seems well and golden....don't use it if this is the case. If you spray Brix more than every 7 days at full strength , you WILL burn the roots...i've done it! Any Q's. ....i'm here for a while this afternoon.....watching Canada / Russia tonight!:thumb:

6 days ago, the big girls got GE with tea. Based on this schedule, they should get water with 1/4 trans or straight water next. It seems like it's already almost time because pots ar pretty light and plants are starting to droop a little but it has been a little cold too, could it be the cold? Is 6 -8 days about right for watering in veg, they're in #10's.

Definitely it's the cold. Make sure to give them some Tea with the 1/4 Transplant on the next drench. Why? Because a boost to the soil will mitigate the cold a bit. Normally, I'd do this drench without Tea, but due to the cold.....yep.

See if you can't keep those temps up! Don't overwater when it's cold, either. It can be a real problem with just a couple degrees of temperature.

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

Thanks Doc! I'll try to hold off on the drench and will include some tea. I'll be moving the tents inside but can't just yet. I hope I can do it within a week. I got small heaters but they were tripping my circuit breakers. Moving inside will solve the cold issue.

Ween , with knowing when to water.....The best way is ...don't go by time OK...means nothing until you get into a regular rhythm. Go by how heavy the pots are...get used to how they feel dry...they will be nice and light...use this as a gauge when to water OK. After roots get developed in veg., water a day before the plants show it OK...you don't have to wait until the plant is drooping to give a drink , but it still needs to be fairly dry, just not to the point of stressing it too much. Are you in DBHBB yet Ween? Cheers bud!

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

Mornin Duggs! Yes, this is my DBHBB journal, the other one was my first grow which is almost complete, with that one I flushed a couple days ago and am wondering how long I should wait before chop? Am I waiting for the plants to take in some of that plain water?

No need to bother Ween, if the trichs are ready, chop it!:thumb:

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

Thanks Bud! Will start the 48 hour dark period.

Ween, you don't need to bother with so much dark before chopping,...24 hrs. is loads. All we wanna do , is make sure she has "dumped" all her fluids to the roots. This is why we harvest during the last dark period , as apposed to after the lights have been on for a couple hours and the leaves and posture has gone turgid again...this is when she has "filled up" with her juices for the upcoming day. Longer dark periods have no benefit for more resin and real long dark periods can increase the chances of mold attacking dense , thick colas .Remember to have the ventilation , "on" during your dark period. Cheers Ween, havin a great day bud! :Namaste:

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

Hey rad! As soon as my 1st harvest drys, I'll have a whole extra 4X4 tent but at the same time I don't really have room for it inside which is where the veg/soon to be bloom tent must go because it's getting cold in the garage. Stuff I need to think about. Even the 4 big ones alone is too much for the 4X4, DOH!

Just game em a good brixing. I made up this cheat sheet to refer to and am wondering if someone can look it over to make sure I'm not doing something wrong.

Foliar sprays:
Brix 1 ounce to 32 Ounces Sprayed every week to 10 days,
Destress is .5 ounces per 32 ounces This can be sprayed 1-2 times per week when there are signs of plant stress. If the plants look "perfect" there is no reason to spray with De-Stress. Also, mixed at 50% strength it helps high brix clones root much faster.
Drenches (for me this is top watering in #10’s):
GE is 10ml plus 2ml of tea in 2 gallons of water per plant
¼ Trans is 1.5ml per gallon
Trans Drench is 30ml plus 2.5ml of tea for my 4 #10’s so 7.5ml plus .6ml of tea in 2 gallons of water each
#1 Dunks:
Trans 6ml plus 1ml of tea in 1.5 gallons of water
GE 5ml plus 1ml of tea I 1.5 gallons of water
Updated Instructions: August 24th, 2015

Schedule by Duggan.
Here is a very typical water /feed schedule for using the "kit" properly in veg. and bloom!
GE Drench W/Tea......
.Water with1/4 Trans (could be straight water too)...
.Water with 1/4 Trans (could be straight water too)......
Transplant Drench with Tea.....
.Water with 1/4 Trans (could be straight water too).....
.Water with 1/4 Trans(could be straight water too)....
.GE Drench with Tea......Repeat....Repeat! 3

Yes, Ween , looks like you have a very good, fast and accurate "cheat sheet". Later , in the last stages of Bloom , it's favorable to make the very last two Drenches, GE. This is done to basically make it taste a lil sweeter, nicer, not as gamey, OK. Nothing is in "stone" , after you grow some runs in the different 1,2 and 3rd runs of the same batch of soil ,...you start to get a good "feel' for what is going on. I should prolly add, that your GR environment , as Doc puts it, is the most important thing , with a grow....cuz if something is "OFF" then everything gets more complicated and challenging , when it shouldn't be. Have an awesome night Ween and Gang....:circle-of-love::Namaste:

Thanks Duggan! Noted about the 2 GEs at the end of bloom and the GR environment. I should be able to dial it in pretty good when the tent comes inside.

If I write in Ween's Hillary do you think they will understand? These three girls are going to be gigantic after they flower and stretch! Get ready ween. Start collecting and sharpening scissors. Gonna be a fun show.

I'm ready Shiggs, thanks! We should really write in the best candidate, Bernice! Should I be defoliating them at this point? I want to LST em a bit to get some light down lower but there just isn't any room, they're packed to the Gil in there.

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

How much time ya got? In general if something is already gonna fill the space I cut them back a bit and wait for them to start growing again then flip. If you already have lollipopped them too much for that you can cut some lower branches so they have some room to grow internally. I am a poor one to ask because I always end up with plants being too big lol.

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

I am in no rush but at the same time I don't want to veg them too long as my first grow vegged way too long and they weren't doing to good by the end of bloom. I did trim up the underside but think I'll need to do some more trimming, wait for them to start growing again and flip as you suggested. Still, they're gonna be monsters for sure.

Thinking of pulling the 5 in #1's and possibly the last alien abducion clone that is in #10, leaving the 3 candidates for the bloom tent and vegging the others for a while in the other 4X4 tent.

re: Another Brix In The Wall - Sweet Pink Stink & Girl Scout

Sounds like a solid plan. When you trim tops, wait till they start growing again, then flip right away. They will stretch and fill any space. Then do final undercutting at 1week in. I tend to pull off all growing tips on bottom 1/3 but leave the fans so the plant can use them for food.

Thanks Shiggs! I'm wondering how far down I should trim the tops? Will the plant split where I cut them?

All 4 in #10's got 3ml of trans plus small plop of tea each in 2 gallons of water.

Some pics of their underparts and the clones.
